"Accessing the Archives" is not working properly

Hello all. Posting this here to see if others are dealing with same issue:

I spoke to MOTHER to prompt her to bring up the Titan Research Archive and I’m not entirely sure what happened, but she didn’t bring up the Titan Research Archive… but the quest progressed and now I can’t re-prompt her to bring it up again.

Any ideas? I’m submitting a ticket now.

I’m having the same issue. Going to try and abandon then get the quest again unless you have tried that already

That actually fixed it! Abandoning and retaking worked like a charm. Leaving this up for any others who encounter this issue!

Ya I had to abandon and retake it to, I think that’s because I tried to do the two quests for her at the same time.

Had the same issue. No ? over Mother to turn in the quest. Deleted it, redid it and Mother was literally gone. Left the chamber and returned but still can’t finish the turn in. My computer is very good and brand new, so it’s not obsolete tech doing this.

yo have u fixed this problem yet? im having the same issues u are i tried retaking the quest but didn’t work

Same here. In fact many times throughout this quest line MOTHER is gone, and I have to leave the Heart and come back. She’s there now, but I can’t speak to her, only access her items for sale.

If anyone is having this problem in the future, complete the side quest chain to cure Ebonhorn. Something with the fact that she’s channeling on him makes it so she disappears sometimes and only opens the vendor menu. Once you complete the side quests she goes back to normal and you can turn it in.

Still having this issue! She is disappeared for me too

also having the same issue. abandoning quest didn’t help. fully left chamber, exited game, reloaded, and no ability to turn quest in, still only getting her sale items

This is still applicable in Nov. 2023. Finish the quest “Save Ebonhorn” to get MOTHER’s containment animation to stop. She’ll then have the “?” above her, allowing you to finish “Accessing the Archives.”

Still broken in 2025. Completed the quest and the “?” shows up on the mini map but there’s no quest giver to accept the turn-in.

Did you try what was said above about the side quests?

Did you finish the “Save Ebonhorn” questline as suggested above?
( Whispers of N’Zoth / Spies to the Left and Right / Black Winged Shadow / To the Catacombs / On the Trail of the Black Prince / Save Ebonhorn )

There’s apparently a quirk where if you are part way through the questline, it locks MOTHER in an animation where she’s temporarily not a questgiver.

(I have to admit I have no memory of this questline myself)

I dod not try that. I have a ticket in and the GM said they can fix it for me. If they can’t, I will try to pick up the other quest line. and see if that fixes it.

I will now. Once the servers come back today. If the GM didn’t fix it for me, I will give it a shot.

If an NPC is a vendor and a quest objective, there should be an extra tab for the quests.

your gm actually decided to do their job? lucky last time i had bugged quests mine just said they do not handle item restoration requests (I was not requesting item restoration)

They’ve been very helpful so far. I was not expecting that. lol.

So for full transparency, I was having an issue doing the balance of power questline where you need to buy a specific item off the nightfallen reputation vendor (Thalyssra). This was on a character that had completed the Suramar campaign but somehow the game had put Thalyssra in a state of being withered meaning she will not do anything until you feed her mana. Having completed the campaign I could not do that, and in the ticket I explained exactly what I was trying to do when I encountered the issue (because information=good right?)
1st response: We do not handle Item Restoration Requests
reopen ticket, issue not resolved, I am not asking you to restore an item I am asking you to fix the bugged state of my character
2nd response: “pc babyspeak+btw we cannot restore items we suggest logging a bug report so we can fix this 9 year old issue in the meantime please try using the party sync feature with someone who can speak to thalyssra”
So anyway I redid the entire questline on a different character because that took less time than waiting for a third response to the ticket.

Being able to turn in a quest is important. The GMs should help out as much as possible. Completing a quest should never be “impossible” . If one can see the “?” on their mini map, they should be able to turn in the quest. And if the GM can click that button for you, they should.
