"Accessibility" vs "I don't want to learn"

Are you talking about the arena in azure span? Or is there another PvP area I’m unaware of?

I think it will.

If i wanted to experience it, i would have played those 2 games!

That is a rather presumptuous claim. FYI, not all disabilities are equal.

The level of presuppositions in your rant regarding the players you disagree with is astounding.

Just because you like a system, doesn’t mean others do not have difficulties with said system.

FYI, I too, like dragon riding.

If they actually had that in game, I would be sorely tempted to go war mode, because that sounds fun as hell!

I’ve seen a number of people claim disability reasons for why they can’t do it, and I have a suspicion very few of them actually have any disabilities. And that is a problem.

In previous expansions, there was a lot of time when flying around I would actually do little dips and dives like they mattered, because that feels way more immersive to me than just air swimming.

The air swimming is dead end game design in a lot of ways. I’m convinced DR is the first big step in removing it.

Problem is a majority of wow player are older. Yes wow is trying to adapt but so is Facebook. Both are for boomers and are seen as Boomer games and Apps.

(I’m just saying what I’ve heard from others in the generation below me to get the point across btw.)

Wow is trying to force change to a group of people that hit elderly age in their 30s and 40s. I find it very funny how my generation is starting to act like their parents. We all grow old and the wow threads are a good example of how my generation sounds a bunch of self entitled old people who are actually 30

Air swimming lol, when hovering is swimming ,hell will freeze over.

Good day.

It’s… it’s the same chunks of code.

That’s why when your mount doesn’t load, your character does a swimming animation in the air.

It’s the same.

I have only tried some Dracthyr soaring, so I don’t know how much similar Dragonflying is yet, but I’ll say this:

Blizzard’s 18 y/o WoW UI is a problem.

This game is not built ergonomically. Just playing our regular toons with the keyboard/mouse and having to custom arrange hotkeys and add-ons and whatnot is a mega PITA.

Now when you go soaring, you gotta press other buttons to stay up. How many more buttons is dragonflying?

This is one of those instances where standard controller support would really help.

But you’d need a controller with like 20 buttons to handle all the modes and situations for this game.

So, if I blame anything for all the drama, I’d blame the interface. It’s just not good out of the box. And leaving it up to the players to figure it out with addons and macros and whatever the hell else we gotta go just wears people out.

Who said anything about that?

I am saying this feature I want it to be expand on. We have so many cool mounts in this game, and I want this to be baseline flying.

If it is not because of people with accessability issues, or motion sickness. That would blow, and I am willing to give up the small few players for a more enjoyable game for myself. I think many players would, just not brave enough to say how they feel.

never played any of those games…heard you guys talk about them, just never bothered to even look. (I barely have time as it is for WOW)
I love wow
I think they should include EVERYONE in EVERY way in the game

but the dragon riding, I cannot do…just wish they would have given us the OPTION to not use it, and NOT make it part of the main stpory line, where you HAVE to do it in order to progress…
for me…not sure what that would hurt for YOU or anyone else in game who enjoys it…

This was my point.

I think that’s a very good analogy.

No, Blizzard is trying to change a game to appeal to a large potential customer pool. You’re pointing out the side effects that is having on the current user base, which is not growing and won’t ever grow in a meaningful way, us olds just keep dieing and running out of free time. They can give us everything we’ve ever wanted and the game would still die. The only chance this game has to make it to it’s 30th anniversary is to attract zoomers. It’s do or die. They are going to give it a shot.

Question, how would it ruin the game for you if they continued to include dragon riding, but allowed normal flying as well, either at the same time or with a short delay? Because having only dragon riding ruins the game for me, but having both would not ruin the game for me because I could choose the one that works better for me. The one I don’t like also existing wouldn’t affect me at all. What about normal flying existing bothers you so much if you can also choose to use dragon riding?

“If you have a disability or visual/spatial/mobility impairments, it’s time for you to get over that and git gud at doing what I was able to do by being born right!”

I see you are orthographically challenged. Have you considering gitting gud?

I would like to see it stay for specific mounts. I can see insect like mounts still using that type of flight or things like magical platforms. The various winged mounts however, let’s convert those.

I mean i guess if it is an options, but Blizzard is not the type of company that will do that. you know good and well they are a all or nothing type company.

I want my cool mounts to use this new flying system. Do you think they would add a option to enable it? I doubt that because like i said the leadership is on record wanting to move on from it.

It’s not about ruining the game for a single person it’s about how it dillutes a coherent vision of a game. Think of how confusing it would be for a new person to find out there are two versions of flying? That confusion severely impacts a players perception of the game during the honeymoon phase and will have measurable negative impact on retention of brand new players that blizzard is desperately trying to attract.

People don’t like change unless it benefits their narrative.

The one who cries loudest gets the most attention.

These sayings apply no differently here than they do real world.
