Yes, one thousand times YES!
Blizz reps arachnophobia
But not physical disabilities
Can you share the secrets of how you afk with dynamic flight ? Would be handy but i dont know the secret you do
Fly as high in the air as possible, get a very slight downwards angle, go to the toilet.
Ah so not actual afk and requires time to fly super high prior. So not quite as equal for afk purposes. Thank you for clarifying
Well… afk is afk. No hands on the keyboard. Not even in the same room. And those 15 seconds getting in the air are hardly worth mentioning.
One is temporary and one is permanent. One requires setup time and one does not. Both sharing afk qualities does not make them equal
Do you guys even play the game?
The campaign took me less than a day, and I’m not even on that much. (And that was with leveling an alt that hadn’t been touched since BFA)
Talk about weird things to complain about when actual important stuff is on fire and not being addressed (or addressed poorly).
accessibility argument aside:
one is clearly better than the other, so the worse one as an “unlock” is ridiculous
it simply shouldn’t be a reward, and should just be available at the outset.
skipping any argument against the accessibility because it’s just wrong.
regular flying is clearly more accessible and if anything the reward should be a faster speed of flying to keep it up with dragonflying.
it is quite literally the equivalent of unlocking colorblind mode as a reward for doing 25 poop quests.
for people with limited motor functionality it isn’t an option, at times I am forced to not use dragonflying.
so yeah my disability is a 'weird thing" to complain about to you, horray. them changing how the game has worked since flying was added to the game is the issue here. if you’re going to default a flying mode, it should be the baseline flying mode not fancy fast edgelord flying
The amount of flying in Dawnbreaker makes it an auto drop group for me. With my limited use of my hands, its just not feasible. I was able to complete it once with a guild group and rode a guildies mount with them.
That argument went out the window when skyriding was given at the start.
That’s how I died once to fatigue without being able to get my body because it too died of fatigue getting to where my body was.
To be fair they should just offer permanent available steady flying for an extra $5 per month. No complaints or issues then.
yeah because the only thing better than quest-gating an accessibility feature is pay-gating it. herp derp
That’s the real purpose of afk flying: Dying to fatigue.
And permanent available skyriding for an extra $15 per month. Sounds good to me.
I think Ion is a mouthpiece for a corporation, and would say it’s an accessibility issue as an offhand comment if enough people claimed it was an issue.
Any difficulty with Skyriding would also be difficulty with normal movement and playing the game. The accessibility “issue” is fabricated.
Only one caveat: they could do better on the motion sickness front, but my father has motion sickness and does just fine with mechanics like this. He just can’t do it nonstop for protracted periods.
You’re wrong, but pop off I guess.
I play with one hand, I have set up numerous work arounds for delves, dungeons, LFR. ( I don’t pug raids beyond that as I have one hand and know I can be much slower)
You know what I don’t have a work around for? Dynamic flying. Moving in three dimensions while adjusting to not hit trees, mountains, etc.
I did my pathfinder. Would have been happier not too.
I have a good friend who only has one hand as well. They prefer Skyriding.
People do know there are options in the menu to assist with Skyriding?
Game Menu → Options → Accessibility → Mounts
I’d also suggest finding hobbies that befit your accommodations and don’t expect corporations (especially) to jump through hoops for you unless it’s going to get them in trouble with ADA.
