Accessibility should not have to be earned. Steady flying should be automatically available as an alternative

I believe the only thing you might need dragon riding for before unlocking steady flight is getting down the coreway. You could ground mount the whole thing if you have to.

For me it was great for my first go around. I still like the old flying, especially when gathering as i tend to overfly nodes

Bottom line, Ion thinks we are bot farmers cause we want regular flight, so It’s never gonna happen.

Sending my hunter in to do every quest possible to i trigger pathfinder so my darn druid can pick berries normally
Harumphs.

Land

Except no flying at all includes both

Other parts of the game don’t give me motion sickness. The Accessibility options for this do help, but does not resolve the problem.

well, thats not happening, so…

Ion H: “some folks, for accessibility reasons, personal preference reasons, maybe you just like being able to afk in mid air…dragonriding isn’t your favorite, we dont want to take anything away.”

on literally any of the huge number of peaks in the game world.
I have to wonder why they are so OBSESSED with our AFKing in the air…like its keeping them awake at night stressing about it given how much they rail on about it in here. lol

sometimes its good to realize youre being trolled for attention and just stop feeding it.
The details of it all are on your side…you have nothing to prove to trolls in here…Ion has spoken.
They’ll ALL just have to deal with it.

I support this thread,

Blizzard keeps promising that minorities are protected and that WOW is for everyone. Yet, they are doing the total opposite by not making the game more accessible for these people who are affected by discrimination / game mechanics.

From my point of view, Blizzard should let people decide if they want steady or dragonriding as soon they enter TWW territory. Once selected, the other option is blocked until pathfinder is done. From this point on, they can switch as they please.

I think that disability claims should be taken seriously, and that it doesn’t do to invalidate the experience of disabled players.

I also, at the same time, wonder what specific disabilities would prevent someone from using sky riding while at the same time allowing them to play the rest of the game.

There’s a content creator who works for blizzard watch who has vision issues, and who writes extensively about what he has to do in order to be able to play the game. I’m wondering what his experience of sky riding is like.

  • motor skill problems, for one…which I personally have due to massive body wide nerve damage, its just not bad enough in my hands to keep me from skyriding well enough.
motor skills deteriorate as we age anyway… as well as someone with arthritis is going to be affected if its bad enough

  • Vision issues, as a few posters have mentioned.
Just having a migraine makes skyriding nearly impossible when I have one going on…i know…I had a migraine day of DF release and had a hell of a time getting some of the glyphs because of it.
IF these persons with vision issues experience anything like I did that day, then yeah…Id say that qualifies as a problem where skyriding is concerned that isnt nearly as bad with slow moving steady flight.

  • Motion sickness…which has been mentioned so many times its getting REALLY annoying having to remind the trolls in here about it…THERE ARE SETTINGS IN THE ACCESSIBILITY panel specifically FOR skyriding issues caused.

Ions not wasting time making those options unless he knows there is a valid reason to bother with it.

Im sure we covered others, but the point is made

No one is asking for this. It’s an absurd extreme.

There is disingenous posting coming from both sides. Many of us are giving genuine feedback.

Blizzard added Accessibility options to deal with problems some of us encounter using Skyriding. They helped but do not resolve my motion sickness problems.

Blizzard understands that Skyriding can cause accessibility problems, that’s why they added these features to the Accessibility options.

No feature in the game used for accessibility should be locked behind an achievement, not matter how easy it is for you to complete.

anything they can devise to render the game…tedious.
they mis-equate tedious with fun and interesting.
and it’s too bad…doesn’t have to be this way…
the game can be fun and challenging without being
tedious!
they’ve lost their way…it’s a “toxic” dev/player
relationship.

Yet another person trying to use the exception to establish the norm.

The game is still accessible if you don’t fly.

The game is made for the many. Not the one or the few. And that is actually perfectly ok.

Check out footpetal inputs if mouse keybinds don’t work well for you.
