To find a way to use skyriding baseline, within the structure of the game itself. Always has been, and I stated it several times.
-I am not asking for game changes.
-I did pathfinder, it wasn’t hard. My disagreements with the achieve are entirely unrelated, I did it, its done.
-I asked for suggestions on how to do this.
My point was not that I felt failed by accessibility options, my on topic point was always that the achieve is a bit worthless at this point, and would be as such if I was fully abled. However I do not want to be hindered by my physical disability and find a way to use the cool faster flying.
you chose to attack points I never made or put forward under the idea of “what I didn’t say”. Strawmanning.
When offered suggestions, you pushed against it. The aforementioned friend changed the skyriding action bar to be static so it wasn’t replacing their first action bar, and uses their mouse entirely for Skyriding.
There is genuinely no reason to lock steady flying behind an achievement. The only reason I can possibly think of is to try to quell bots, but it genuinely does not matter at that point, they will just unlock the achievement, even if their account gets banned for botting, they’ll just unlock it all over again. Literally doesn’t matter at all, there is genuinely no reason for doing this except just to make people who need it for accessibility reasons suffer.
I’m pretty sure this is the only reason. It’s not a great reason, especially with how easy Pathfinder is to achieve. I agree that it shouldn’t be locked, but I don’t agree it has anything to do with accessibility.
Again, read plainly. I tried it, it did not work for me. I wish it did but it does not. I did not push back on you over the suggestion I asked for, I pushed back on your attitude and you assumption all disabilities and people function the same.
You have yet to quote anything I asked you to quote to plainly support your claims. Essentially, “I believe that you believe this.”
I don’t think they’re trying to be malicious on purpose, but yeah, unless they have good data showing that it does do anything to quell the bots or give them extra road blocks to make it harder, I don’t really see any other reason why it exists.
I know that stopping bots is definitely more about inconveniencing them as much as possible and not just a one and done fix, so I get it. But I really have a hard time seeing how this inconveniences bots enough to make a difference at the expense of people with accessibility needs, honestly.
If Ion wanted to go out there and say something like “we do have data that keeping steady flying behind an achievement helps in combating bots and that’s why it exists” that would be great. I think it’s vague enough to not give away any security details and maybe reassure people why it still exists.
I have said - multiple times - that this is unfortunate. My stance and my intentions have not remotely changed. This is not an issue with accessibility options it is an issue with your preferences. This is what you’ve been arguing against. What do you want me to do, walk you through all available options until one satisfies you? I have no intention of doing that.
To hearken, you are denying the cane, and asking for an alternative. I’m not going to show you to prosthetic aids, walkers, Amigo scooters, etc. etc. - options exist, that is my point.
This is so nebulous I’m not even sure there is a meaning behind that statement. Every time I’ve attacked a point of yours, I have quoted the point in question.
And continued to dig into me on things you attributed to me, not things I actually said. If you actually read my posts you would have moved on after your suggestion, you CHOSE to keep attacking a strawman version of me that isn’t real.
I argued against your attitude, and against the achieve locking steady, which you agree is silly.
You don’t even know what my argument is since you keep making them up for me on your own.
Literally go “oh well, you’ll find it eventually” and move on. You chose to belittle and attack me over nothing.
How? I am actively taking suggestions, yours just wasn’t it. I am not denying help or suggestions.
yes I am a helpless baby bird who needs things catered to me, ignore that I am fully using all available in and out of game accessibility options, I’m just fragile and need an entire army of support to go from one room to another.
Please oh please blizzard help me get over these issues that I totally have let run and control my life, it couldn’t just be me here asking for help in one area and a annoying vulpera calling me a baby while not reading anything I write about looking for work arounds. god please I’m so helpless. /s
In reality your attitude is garbage, thats my point. However since that’s not anything I think I can change, not would I try, my point was looking for work arounds while being attacked by someone who lacks basic reading comprehension over a very basic point being presented.
Point, for the last time: Karkasy would like to use skyriding, the current suggestion was not one that worked for me, despite trying. Apparently that means I’m a helpless baby who need Blizzard to change the game despite me never asking for that.
Be better. I will be busy actually using the input given by others in this thread who aren’t to stuck in a personal crusade.
Correct. We should provide feedback.
GET RID OF ARACHNOPHOBIA MODE! PEOPLE DON’T LIKE ACCESSIBILITY! IF YOU ARE AFRAID OF SPIDERS, THIS GAME ISN’T FOR YOU!
I love how after me explicitly asking you to explain you refuse to elaborate and instead force a strawman narrative after accusing me of it.
So I’ll ask one more time.
What about my attitude is ‘garbage’? That I won’t coddle you?
When my grandfather with COPD wants to struggle to do something of his own accord, I let him. I remain there to help if it becomes a problem. This isn’t a ‘garbage’ attitude, this is the attitude of someone who knows independence is important to people.
I want you to be able to use Skyriding. That would be great. I’ve never said otherwise.
I do have arachnophobia, turns out the crabs break my immersion lmao. Though Nerubians I can tolerate, especially in the cartoony style. I know others aren’t the same though so I am glad it’s there.
The only other game with this mode that I do use was the Jedi Survivor games, those ones were a bit rougher. Did not know there would be spiders but I got through it.
Done with you, my mistake for engaging someone with more vitriol than brains. Begone from me as I am gone from you.
I have no clue if there’s a name for it, but I have a crippling fear of escalators. I know a lot of info has come out over the years regarding their safety, but there were two local stories of kids dying in them where I grew up, and they stuck with me for life. Stairs for me 100% of the time.
