just played an alterac valley match where i single-handedly stalled the horde at SHB and scored 6 killing blows before going down
after i respawned, i went to make a backcap attempt at IWB, but was a couple seconds too late to recapture it
i started working my way south and encountered a couple horde blocking my way, and was able to take a few down before getting another trip to the GY
now this is where it gets interesting, at this point that match is nearly over
apparently multiple people reported me AFK because I made a polite but pointed comment about it would have been nice to have full buffs in the initial skirmish at SHB, and they didn’t like that
so I got an “inactive” debuff even though i’m riding around the BG. mousing over the debuff says I can’t gain honor until I enter PvP combat. well, AV is a very large BG, and at this time the team is killing Drek
so the BG ends before I can find a horde to swing at, and then I get NO HONOR, NO EXPERIENCE, AND A 15 MINUTE DESERTER DEBUFF
all the while I was #1 in the BG with 12 KBs to only 3 deaths!!! haha, what??
the abuse of player reports has got to stop, it’s incredibly toxic
It absolutely happened, your trollish denial is not needed here.
AV is a very large and spread out battleground, so if a small group of players mass reports another player AFK and they time it right before the end of the BG then you don’t get any honor or experience, and you get the deserter debuff when it ends which prevents you from queuing.
This can happen while you are actively playing your character.
I don’t know for sure, but doesn’t this debuff kick in automatically after you’ve been inactive for a while? There’s a similar problem in Overwatch where you’ll be kicked from the game if you don’t start doing damage to enemy players, even though there are some rare circumstances where you can legitimately be out of combat for a long time even if you’re “actually” playing.
I moved on a while ago. I just won’t forget. The irony now is that there’s an honor buff in BGs given to you for defending, the same thing they used to suspend and honor wipe you for doing.
Why are you even back capping as an alliance player? You will win 9 out of 10 games just zerging south and killing the boss.
All you had to do was stick with the crowd and you would of got your ez xp and honor and been back on the treadmill instantly but you had to be a greedy rogue and go fishing for under geared players to gank. Despite all this you had to pop off about buffs thinking thats the reason you died and got yourself flagged in the process.
happens all the time, report function is garbage, you can just get 5-8 people and it will mark you as afk, and lets say your dead and on a 30 sec res, your gonna get kicked out…
