This is mainly in reference to MoP world bossed (like Galleon)
I have 12 alts that have been killing this boss weekly for about 2 years now, and about 8 for the 2 prior to that. This means I have (assuming we’ll say 4 skipped weeks a year to be GENEROUS to Bliz) roughly 1,920 kills on Galleon the world boss. Even if you had a stacking chance to get the drop each time, I’d still have less than a 20% chance to get the drop for another 80 kills (another 9 week investment)
This is the only reasonable way to get the Mushan Beast mount. The only other one STILL AVAILABLE TO BE ACQUIRED requires bloody coins which are gained through pvp on timeless isle (the 3rd was a brawlers guild reward, and much like the ashen pheonix eggs that’s gone up in smoke, although with timewalking those eggs could come back as rewards for doing mythics or something for pandarian timewalking imo)
This is just rediculous. It isn’t fun. When I get the saddle, I won’t feel like I accomplished something I’ll just feel releived that I don’t have to grind galeon on a weekly basis anymore…and then groan as I move all those toons to the next world boss to grind it for it’s mount drop for an inordinately long amount of time.
Who in their right mind thinks this is enjoyable game design for the player?

You can get the bloody coins easily.
This always you to get them anywhere even bgs. Funny enough, if you had just been doing bgs normally for those years you’d easily have it.

Sounds like you have been engaged for 4 years.
Again: that still requires pvp action (which I don’t really do) of some sort and that method is seems like something that could get you into trouble
Note how I said that it’s not fun/not designed to be enjoyable for the player, at this point the only reason I still do the grind is out of spite because I won’t let the, honestly, atrociously designed RNG beat me

Wait…you mean it’s actually possible to kill those world bosses?
I’ve not seen an alive spawn of Anger, Galleon, any of the Warbringer’s etc since release.

I’ve got those 12 toons that camp the galleon spot, they don’t move from there, they are logged into once a week to kill him and then logged out

15 minutes give or take the odd 30 seconds

Nalaak+Sha is between 10-20 minutes. Oondosta and Galleon is 15.

K well pick your poison. Mindlessly grind bgs and get it 100% of the time eventually or continue to try the slot machine.

It shouldn’t require forced pvp slow grind to unlock it or YEARS worth of doing the same world boss over and over to get it.

Actually no. It’s not unusual to see people in bgs using that appearance. It does require getting a lot of killing blows though.
There used to be an exploit. Not sure if it still exists or how common it was, but that isn’t it.
I agree that the rarest drops are too rare.
Good news is all previous expac rares announced moving to once monthly spawns. Will not have to grind as much.
The link they shared isn’t about BG but using a world zone arena in Legion, standing in certain ways and having an opposite faction friend let you kill them repeatedly for coins in such a manner that it bypasses the hard c/d for coin drops from a given target.
Specifically, that link they posted goes to this specific post
1. You and a friend from the opposite faction (or your 2nd account) go to the Spirit Angel at 49.66, 77.93 in the Darkbrul Arena in Highmountain (cave entrance is at 53.80, 76.65) and have your friend stand where the Spirit Angel is. You do NOT have to be on the world quest in order for this technique to work. The Spirit Angel will automatically resurrect you every 30 seconds, bypassing the 2-minute resurrection timer entirely. Type /tar Brick to help find where the Spirit Healer is located inside the cave easier.
2. Use your Fire-Watcher's Oath in order to collect the Bloody Coin needed for your Fire-Watcher achievement/title.
3. Stand at max-range (next to Brick) and kill your friend/self with ranged attacks. Being at max-range will prevent you from getting the 'Sacrified to Ordos' debuff which prevents you from getting another coin for 10 minutes.

Agreed, it wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t for the fact that they use this for nearly everything each expansion which means there’s roughly a few hundred things to try and grind out and hope the RNG is in your favor.

Nothing to get in trouble for. Spam the hell outta AV. You’ll have the mount in no time.
After a certain point you have to wonder who the real dingus is. The game making rng mounts and cosmetics, or the person who keeps going back to this game expecting anything different the next time around.

I have to admire the effort. And, you know that this is (on some platform) kind of nuts and so the vent in the forums is ideal as a place to unload some frustration.
I don’t know my own turning point; I’ve collected and camped mounts for years; but one day I realized that “I’ll never ride this mount and there is no place to go show it off”.
I don’t want you to give up but I hope that you don’t do it again. Be sane!
