Although I’m not personally making the switch a few of my colleagues including my boss have.
He didn’t mind 8.2 but liked playing multiple tank characters (bear, prot war, blood DK) but 8.3 came and he noped out of the game so fast. (They are horde filth )
I’m not sure about me, I like the climate of modern WoW more (art etc). I’ve persisted far enough to complete normal Nya on Demon, but still having trouble getting last part of heroic done.
My plan is is get N’Zoth, passively do dailies and then work on older expansion content.
I started in classic, yeah, I know, my account doesn’t show it because this is my fifth account for reasons. Anyway, I loved it back then, but I just don’t have time for the grinding within grinding within another grinding to the point that I feel like chopped carrots. If you’re loving it, go for it, but it’s not for me anymore.
I hadn’t played retail in over a year when classic launched. Spent about a month there before popping in to see how BfA progressed since I left. I haven’t touched classic since.
Played it a lot, very much enjoyed leveling and doing quests I missed the first time.
End game after the fun dungeon push is…lacking for me and PvP is a dumpster (massive queues, insane grind for rank (makes essences look FAST), and generally involves premade queue dodging).
I’ll still play it casually, but IMO leveling and the dungeons are the fun part.
I guess that is the different in time gait versus micromanage. For some grinds, I know I can grind and grind and grind all day and make progress the whole time. For Retail, you can only get this set amount every day and you have to come back. That, to me, feels god awful.
See, for me, I like that. When I’ve done my daily allotment, I just do do something else, but because the grind in classic lets us go on and on, I go on and on and then it feels like a rut to me.
Now having said all that, it certainly is most satisfying to get the objective in one day. I just don’t have the stamina for that anymore.
I like having player choice. Retail does not give me choice, therefore it feels like a phone game restricting me from doing what I want to do. Classic allows you to play how you like and it feels amazing again.
