About the flagging system

I’ll pass, thanks. I don’t need everyone on this forum having my BattleTag.

They would most likely do it the way their other forums are. Just the name. No numbers.
I am all for attaching btags to all of our avatars or moving to a 1 avatar system. That will discourage some of the trolling, mass flagging, and those who are trying to influenece conversation by alt brigading.

Me thinks you are putting way too much drama into what you think flagging is.

Are you aware that you are not the first person to start a thread on this topic? Are you aware that it is therefore is spam? Are you aware that spam is a flaggable violation of the coc?

Unfortunately if this doesn’t stop I could see this being a solution they resort to

I am glad I am not the only one!

Yeah but why does a thread with a legitimate concern trigger you hard enough for you to report it? I’m not trying to be sarcastic, I am actually curious why it triggers some of you people so hard.

Yet this one doesn’t because we begged for them not to do it and this isn’t like the other games where there are separate characters.

Don’t really care what the other forums do, because I don’t post there. I’d like to choose my character, thanks.

And if it’s an issue, then make people pick one character they can post with. They can only swap once a month and they’re locked to only that one.

Or… if something is liked or reported on one character, it can’t be on another.

Those sound more reasonable for this game forum.

Flag system just gives trolls more power to troll lol… Blizz is a troll

It’s even worse on reddit. If people dislike something they give a downvote, it’s just that simple - or in this case on the wow forum they flag.

Which is why, imo, “flagging” needs changed back to “report” and there needs to be better defined reasons, along with a warning that false reporting will result in disciplinary action.

As one of the victims I have to agree. Please Blizz ad a warning with punishment for false flagging. ty!

(This is a reply to the topic header as are 90% of my replies)

We all have things that irritate us Smadinker. Why are you triggered enough to comment on not one but 2 of us in this thread?

They need to add a blocking/ignore feature and things would get a LOT better in the forums.

I can honestly say I have never been triggered, mad, or upset, about anything anyone has ever said on a video game forum. Not once have I ever had my day ruined because of this forum, not a single time. I guess irl means more to me than a video game so I don’t let it a forum full of adult-children and raging teenagers get to me.

That is a healthy way to be. What is not so healthy is attributing strong emotions and physical reactions to people who choose to flag. Blizzard gave us the option to notify them when we see something that violates their guidelines. Exercising that option doesn’t require any emotion at all actually. Spam irritates me. So do threads that start with a video and no words. That doesn’t mean they ruin my day.

Whats not so healthy is smothering others opinions because it does not align with your own. If a persons opinion on a video game forum bothers you to the point that you have to constantly flag it for removal then its probably best to shut down your PC and take a step away from the forums.

I agree that is abusing the flagging system. I have agreed with that in all the threads on this topic that have been posted. Good thing I do not flag based on whether or not I agree with the poster’s opinion.

Rhielle - if you don’t know, your post was flagged, and hidden. They later unflagged your post. And, I think you for your insightful and truthful post. I think the OP too.
