I dunno
I think she’s pretty bad at playing the doctor.
Its like she’s doing a really bad impression.
But I do agree that it would help a lot if she had some decent material to work with.

It has nothing to do with “woke”. “Woke” is urban slang for “Wake”. It comes from the context “Wake up and look at the cell phone videos, we really are getting killed at traffic stops”.
Dr. Who has nothing to do with this problem other than saying even if you do look different you still have a right to live even if you were driving with a broken tail light.
I wish they would add more references to doctor who in WoW. Like give us a tardis that can take us to any zone from any expansion in a single click. Or enemies that look similar to villains from doctor who, or even a sort of doctor who theme story line like they did with the Indiana Jones story line in Uldum. Would be cool to have something.
I started losing interest when watching Peter Capaldi as the Doctor. He wasn’t terrible, but just felt like I was trying to stay awake while watching the episodes he was the Doctor in. When Jodie Whittaker, took over, I did enjoy the first part of it, but later, the show just got boring again and I felt they lost their way with writing new episodes that didn’t grasp my attention over other stuff.
I wouldn’t mind going back to watching the show again, but it maybe a while since much like The Walking Dead, the series is kind of dragged to the point where other stuff like the Marvel and Star Wars series are more entertaining.
The old one was cool. The new stuff is another level of bad. I don’t watch it.
I haven’t kept up on it for years since sis past on.
Not anymore. Now it’s right-wing slang for “things I don’t like”.
Anyone who uses the word these days can be dismissed as unimportant.
As for the thread topic, it’s been kinda just tolerable since Clara came on the scene. I like Jodi but her writing has been not great. Even Capaldi at least got some good monologues when Clara stopped talking.
I hated Clara. She was a plot device that had to get turned into a character later. Kind of threw my hands up when the Doctor saved her at the end of one season in an inexplicable way and then the next season continued on like nothing happened.
Loved the hell out of the Chris Eccleston season.
Loved the hell out of the David Tennant seasons.
Loved the hell out of the first couple of Matt Smith seasons. Then it started to lose me. I don’t remember if I ever properly finished watching his ones. Didn’t bother with anything after. Turns out Steven Moffat actually sucks as a showrunner.
Blink is still an absolutely amazing episode.
I prefer the older ones, even Peter Davidson and Colin Baker, then Matt Smith. Smith was more like the older ones than the newer edgy ones. Now they have changed the lore to fit in some current day political activism. It’s another lost franchise having been broken by the social zealots.
Tom Baker and David Tennant are the best doctors of what i have seen.
The best companion was Romana.
WHY? Neither one were likable nor did they have ANY redeeming qualities.
Donna falls in the same category as Rose and Martha as far as i’m concerned.
Except for Romana. She was interesting but then again she was a Time Lord as well.
The Key To Time is one of my favorites.
Key to Time was amazing and groundbreaking. And the show was already 15 years old at that point.
Proof that just because a show has been around a long time doesn’t mean it can’t innovate.
Because she was a ordinary person, self-involved, impulsive and irrational, but when push came to shove she stepped up.
I found Rose charming, fun and kind, and Martha strong, smart and self-determining.

That’s just a part, it encompasses all Social Justice real or imagined. Mostly imagined.
Who’s your favorite companion to the Doctor (going all the way back to the start of the show, if you want)? Anyway, I’ve enjoyed it, even the Chris Chibnall crap. Then, I always thought it was bad in a way. I saw a video recently where they cut and paste Matt Berry into the role of the Doctor. I like that idea.
Who?
They’ve never been the same since Keith Moon died, in my opinion.

The correct answer for everyone is going to be Amy Pond followed by Clara Oswald.
Ew, Clara was the worst. Moffat made the entire show about her, with The Doctor being a side character at best.
I’d agree that the Ponds were the best.
They did the same thing with River Song, but Clara wasn’t insufferable like River.
River wasn’t ever really a companion though. She was heavily featured, and the focus of many episodes, but it was still about the Doctor reacting to her plot points, not the other way around like they forced for Clara.
