1:19 AM AEST - Not a peak time for Australia and the lag is almost unplayable -
Warmode ON/OFF makes no difference, 32ms world & home yet the loot/interaction/actions lag is 5-10 secs.
Please fix it, or at least give us an update that isn't "turn warmode on/off" and report back.
Sincerely,
A mother that only gets to play when the kids are asleep & can't because lag is whipping her!

Thank you all for the continues reports. We are continuing to look in to what is causing this.
We have seen some reports that turning Warmode off has helped. When you do experience the high latency, please see if turning Warmode on or off makes a difference. If it does or does not, please let us know. If it does post if there was an improvement with it on or off.
Cheers for the continued heads up, times like these its good to know you at least have a gaze our way.
Entire guild is suffering this, not to mention the entire Oceanic locale, both in and out of Warmode. all open world BFA issues, not instancing. Legion and Classic world areas all run perfectly fine.
Leads me to believe its cross realm issue with US realms. possibly due to population?
Adelaide time, it seems to reach unplayable at noon and doesn't die down until around 1:30am-ish so I've had some very sleepless nights trying to get some stuff done...
The issue seems to be more present when war mode is turned OFF not turned on. Can we please figure this out quickly because.. honestly its already killing my desire to even log on and attempt to do content i haven't finished.
still processing, so give it 20 minutes ish, but here's an example of the spell lag, loot lag, quest completion lag etc, in Zuldazar at like 12:30 / 1am AEST

Confirming the ongoing problem, my realm Caelestrasz - both peak and offpeak. 1 or more second delay for looting, receiving quest rewards, the outcome of abilities (eg rogue combo pts), movement of items etc. Being reported in chat across all zones.
[Ed. My warmode has been off since launch. I did not have this delay problem on launch day

Just an update have been playing on Caelstrasz, Stormsong Valley, since 2am-2.15am AEST which is 10am-10.15am PDT and am not experiencing the delays of the past couple of days. It's not a 100% as responsive as a non BFA zone but a big improvement.
Whereas earlier in my evening, say 6 hrs ago, the delay was unbearable.
[Ed. Soz I wrote 3am-3.15am AEST, but it was 2am-2.15am. I am on AWST, like poster below and had a lag free playing sessions]

From 12am AWST so 2am AEST, all zones are free from lag on Barthilias, it's now 3.20am and am logging off, but once most of the easterners went to bed the lag dropped completely away, same thing happened last night/am as well.
Being thats its 6.30 now over east I'll say the complaints will start up again in approx 3-4 hours.
Ad the lag will go up with population.

Can we take Oceanics off the GCD please?
Warmode on or off doesn't matter. NAZMIR seems to be affected the worst.
Game is showing low ms. Playability in game is functionally super jagged and spikey.

Just confirming that the lag is back for another day. That's the 4th... or 5th day in a row of this crippling issue.
It is now 9:55AM Local and Server time (Sydney) and although the lag is not currently at it's worst, it is definitely noticeable and if the last few days are any indication, it will only go downhill from here.

This issue is weird. My computer on the same network has all sorts of lag issues, character not found, takes ages to load realm pages. But my brother on the same network has no lag, no character not found issues, no realm selection lag. That is weird to me. Is it some sort of issue with the installation or addons doing it?
Hi,
We are being sent to LA (~155ms from my connection in Sydney) more often than not. Does not happen all the time, but after joining a crossrealm group you're almost guaranteed to be placed somewhere far from home (~3ms reporting). It's probably not a network thing but have CK or Malachi reach out if you need more client side info.

War mode off and stays off, issue persists, all players are reporting issues, this is now day 4 or day 5 and we are no closer to a fix or to anyone telling us what is even wrong.
[b]The game is unplayable in its current state and I want to ask what is wrong , why is this happening, are we being sharded onto US servers and when will this be fixed?

I noticed there were players from US servers around me while I was playing in a BfA zone. Makes me wonder what purpose is served by having an Oceanic server when seem to be sharded into US servers. So while we have our normal decent ms and latency, we have terrible lag due to this system of shards.
At least, I'm assuming that is the cause.
If it is, I am concerned it will never be fixable.

Ever since the sharding system arrived Oceanic has only been sharded with other Oceanic servers, never US. We would see US players around occasionally as they had grouped with Oceanic people and made the trip over here rather than the other way around.
If we ARE being sharded out to the US now (and it looks like we are) then that HAS to be stopped. It renders the game near-unplayable thanks to the immense lag, lag which is worse than the base Sydney-Chicago lag by a factor of ten or more (same as it used to be with some world boss groups based off the central US servers).
Can confirm Lag Spiking still occurring at 11:26 AM AEST. Can also confirm it occurs outside of Battle of Azeroth Zones. Internet fine. Problem must, by process of elimination, lay with Servers.
Can also confirm issue only arose, for me at least, AFTER last hotfix.

Cael's been running nicely the past couple of hours.
No Warmode. Though only just now starting to notice delay as we enter mid-Sunday.

So I ask again.
Are we being sharded to US servers, if so, why?
Yeah right lol. Read between the lines here guys: It's going to take a maintenance to fix and they dont want to bring the whole thing down just to fix a problem thats restricted to Oceanic servers. They'll keep stalling until the next scheduled maintenance.
All those of you who took the week off to play the game for the first week of release? I'd be pretty angry right now.

There is a remarkable difference between war mode on and off on Saurfang alliance:
War mode off: lags horribly, at it's worst last night during peak times up to 10 seconds.
War mode on: no lag whatsoever at any time.
The above example happens everywhere in BFA content and Stormwind.
