Ability/Loot Lag on Oceanic Servers Despite Normal Latency

I can confirm that Caelestrasz is running beautifully atm, though last night the lag was immense
Playing on Khaz'goroth since about 7 this morning AEST with no issues. It's now just after midday and the lag has started.
Seems like the battle.net update agent was causing the issue for me.
Make sure you are able to view hidden folders and go to C:\Programdata\battle.net\Agent\data\cache and delete everything in there (make sure battle.net agent is closed at the time) open the agent again and it will give you a message saying it has gone to sleep and is trying to wake it's self up again or something like that but back in game and ms has gone back to normal. hope this helps others.

I have had an ongoing issue for a few months with a black loading screen while it tried to find my character, this often took quite a while, not sure about the lag yet but my loading screen boss is gone thanks to this!
So Thanks heaps
Leveling on Saurfang, shortly after staring the questing on Kul Tiras I experience continuous delays and lag, but not enough to make the game unplayable just incredibly irritating.

It usually follows the same pattern. For a little while I have no lag at all and slowly it just builds up and never goes away. Sometimes exiting WoW can fix it for a short amount of time.

It's also annoying because the person I was levelling with does not experience any lag.
1:33pm AEST (Caelestrasz-Nagrand player) lag is still present in Zandalar and Kul'Tiras zones. Some are worse then others and as usual dungeons are unaffected atm.
Still not fixed.
Clearly there is a problem so why has blizzard not said anything, made a tweet saying yes there is an issue and we are looking at it.
Same problem as the OP. Constant lag, but latency shows as normal (and seems to remain unchanged, despite obvious lag ). Problem doesn't seem to be as pronounced in Boralis as it is out in the surrounding areas. It is basically unplayable - I just gave up, yet again.
As others are saying, its back again.

I just had something really random happen. I was flying to Vol'dun, and once i landed, i was stuck. I could not do anything. Then after about 15 seconds, i randomly teleported back to Zuldazar, high up in mid-air, not on the flightpath bird, and fell to my death.

The dungeons are run on US servers (note that your latency will always be >200 ms).

This is patently absurd and wrong.

We have our own instance servers that are working just fine, all my mythic runs were done in OCE groups, no lag, 15ms the whole time.

This issue is weird. My computer on the same network has all sorts of lag issues, character not found, takes ages to load realm pages. But my brother on the same network has no lag, no character not found issues, no realm selection lag. That is weird to me. Is it some sort of issue with the installation or addons doing it?

what if he groups with you in the same BFA outdoor zone in a party together, does it give him lag, or fix yours?
I just used my Windows Firewall to block the WoW Voice Proxy (the in game voice chat) and it seems to be working, my latency is not building up. I'll keep monitoring though.

There are other threads on this issue, where the voice chat cannot be disabled (unless you try parental controls) and is always running. Even if it apparently uses minimal resources, it lags some of us.

Give that a try, maybe.

- Issue seems to be only in the new zones.
- Latency always shows as constant and low
- Issue is constant (all day and night).

Tried it, no change.

That is the problem with this server lag, it is random, likely based on the servers being slammed with requests for loot, quest hand ins, quest progress etc etc.

So you will do something, it will seem like it worked for a while, but you are just in a random period of no server lag.
Played a fair bit over the last few hours on Dath/Khaz, and things seemed to be back to normal again.

Then again, the population's likely to be a lot lower on a Sunday morning/afternoon compared to a Saturday night.

It really just adds to my suspicion that these problems are a "server at capacity, shard 'em off to the US" thing. Let's see how we go tonight when everyone's back on :)

Do you have war mode switched on by any chance? That seems to be the case for many who are fine
Thank you all for the continues reports. We are continuing to look in to what is causing this.

Eleomaz

Are Oceanic players being sharded to US realms. Is that the cause?

When you do experience the high latency, please see if turning Warmode on or off makes a difference.
Never had WM on to start with. 30ms home, 30ms world, ~70-100 fps. Only seems to happen in BFA zones (not instances though unless put on a US server), and doesn't seem to be an issue in Org, Dalaran or non-BFA zones.

2-3 seconds delay on an instant-cast spell makes playing extremely unpleasant.
