Your technical team is an absolute disgrace and should all be sacked. This is by far the worst treatment of customers I have ever been a part of. And I worked at Foxtel when the IQ3 was released.
You know what would mollify us almost as much as a timely fix? A refund for the past month that would remove the dirty feeling of having been forced to pay for this horrible service.
Post made on Aug 17. It's Sept 30 now and it looks like the issue isn't going to be addressed. Maybe it's not a priority? *sigh*
Drustvar is really bad today. Regularly disconnecting now, it's actually gotten worse.
@Kyrgon see page 73.
Daily check in. Still hoping for some good news.
I am in south Korea, and get better service from the US than I do from the OCE servers. Hopefully this will change. Keep moving forward
[snip]
Second, have the techs look at places like Tol Dagor and the zone around Corlain, as I have noted what id call "spikes" of server lag in those areas, BUT as soon as you move away the effect lessens..which looks to me as if Im moving from one shard to another.
Question: by shards do you mean normal sharding or do you mean war mode vs not?
[snip]
Lets say that I go into a group to kill a boss. I am sharded into that group and my latency spikes (as it would) as the shard is with US servers.
BUT.
What I have then noticed is that when I hearth back to Zul or to Boralus, my latency does not drop off..I have to hearth to Dal to get it to reset. Whether this is an issue peculiar to me or if its more widespread I dont know..but Ive tested and again the results are the same every time.
Your location in the game really means very little. Zones appear to be affected, but the reality is the shard you are on is what is affected. That shard can be located anywhere, BUT due to the presence of a large number of players, sharding occurs most often in high traffic areas of the game. I am pretty sure that in order to maintain population levels for shards, they are pulling in US based players, resulting in a poor experience for everyone on those shards.
The second issue, higher measured latency following grouping with US server based players is a known issue that has been around for a while. It will also probably take some time to nail down and rectify. Sometimes, not even hearthing to Dalaran has fixed it for me. I've had to log out entirely, log into other characters, etc, to reset my session.
I know it will get fixed, but for real, when you're experiencing it, it is about the worst feeling. Just doing WQ and questing in general becomes quite unpalatable.
Nearly 2 months and this is still happening. It's getting beyond a joke at this point.
The fact I can walk into one area and my Latency works fine, then walk 50meters up the road and suddenly I'm playing like I'm on 500ms is ridiculous.
I don't know how you guys managed to screw up the sharding that badly after it worked fine without issue since OCE servers opened up.
I'm getting pretty fed up with just getting told "we understand your frustration" I was frustrated enough about it at launch that I unsubbed for a month figuring it would at least be sorted out by then.
Just completely separate US and OCE players altogether at this point.

This is now beyond a joke.
A multi billion company cannot be this bad.
It should really be illegal to take money from customers and provide this level of service.
Blizzard you should be ashamed of what you have become.

Latency is absolutely savage tonight on Khaz. Homes latency always a rock solid 20ms but everything takes upwards of a second or more to resolve.
I've only been having that sort of lag in Uldir, like wtf Blizz. 3000 world ms, 30 home ms

Just a heads up, the issue you're having is separate from the issue explained in this thread. Our latency stays solid, unchanging, even though it feels like we're playing on extremely high latency due to what we believe must be sharding errors. You might want to check for a thread that it tackling actual visual latency spikes to find a helpful solution. ^_^

The problem this thread covers is related to server latency, not network latency.
Yours is a network latency issue.

Not really dude, the topic title says "Latency" and "ms" is part of it whether It's home or world or even both. It's related to the topic from what I said previously.
To clarify, the issue most people are describing is when your world and home latency remain normal (48 home and 48 world for me) but the game is acting like there is a lot of latency. Looting takes a long time, abilities take a long time, etc.
If you are seeing actual changes in your world and home latency, you're affected by another issue.
Generally, if your home latency remains fine and your world latency increases, you've probably been sharded to a US/SouthAm realm, and that is why that is happening. If your world latency continues to climb, you're quite likely in some kind of sharding loop, and will need to relog to resolve.
If your home latency is high, something is using your available bandwidth on your connection.
How is this still an issue? Still happens all the time and it's infuriating and unacceptable this far into the expansion.
Been playing low level alts so I forgot it was an issue until I went to do BFA content and got slammed with the lag.

The title also says 'Oceania servers' which, given that you're posting from an Illidan toon, is probably not you.10/01/2018 09:02 AMPosted by RagnarosNot really dude, the topic title says "Latency" and "ms" is part of it whether It's home or world or even both. What you describe sounds awful, but the issue this thread is discussing is specific to world content and has since been identified by Blizzard. If you want help with your problem, you'd be better placed to start a new thread to puzzle it out and get the Blizzard employees to notice.
