The game is "fit for purpose". You can play it. The latency means the experience is not fantastic, but no one denies you can't play the game.
I am not sure where people get the idea that the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) is a magical fix it all. It is not.
And if you seriously believe that Blizzard "waiting for people to unsub to fix the lag" then you're in the realm of lizard people conspiracies. They are trying to fix it, I promise you.
I'd like to think they're trying to fix it but it's been way too long.
It's gone well past the initial, somewhat expected, "the new expansion is live!" lag. At this point the people who raced to level cap have wound back to more sensible play amounts, they're mostly doing instanced content too. Minimal WQ stuff as they're done with the reputations.
Yet the lag is still there.
I keep checking, hoping it gets fixed so I can renew my subscription enjoy the expansion I paid for!
Can't enjoy it when it lags this badly.

This is one of the bits with voice acting, I really enjoy them. I always wait to see if there will be a reaction when I arrive or leave quest NPC.
Marshal Everit Reade has two lines in a row there, they're time stamped two seconds apart but I'm fairly sure this was the lag as he "spoke" two words of the first line and then talked over himself, ending the first line, to tell me the second.
I abandoned the quest and re-did it, the same thing happened. While clicking on the NPC's there was noticeable lag between initiating an interaction and having them respond.
It's just so demoralising, it's like when you watch a live sports stream and it buffers, then skips a bit to catch up to "live". If that happens too often you just get irritated and look for a different source or stop watching.

Yes it's been happening on the bigger US servers too, I've still got a lot of friends from years playing on US servers. Friends over there have had problems with island expeditions too.

As Blizzards Oceanic servers are in Australia, the services Blizzard provides is subject to ACCC consumer guarantees, which is how Valve got fined for millions for not offering refunds for poor quality games
"All goods come with automatic consumer guarantees that they are of acceptable quality and fit for the purpose for which they were sold, even if the business is based overseas"
The ACCC gives us consumer protections, which entitle you to a refund if the product doesn't meet these protections.
Blizzard would only be pulled up by the ACCC if they intentionally misled customers about their consumer rights or refused refunds.
Valve only got in trouble as they made misleading representations about consumer guarantees and that certain terms and conditions in the Steam subscriber agreements and refund policies were false or misleading
Your one course of action would be to ask for a refund, you could also file a complaint with the Office of Fair Trading in your state but these are just mediators and have no way to force blizzard to do anything.
As a company, Blizzard is just failing so hard on so many fronts right now.

Ahh, I had wondered whether it would be covered, but as you say, the server is here. Might be where this ends up going.
Still lagging every night. Feels like they are just pretending to investigate and not actually trying to fix it. It has been over a month now and still no attempt to fix.
Just cancelled my sub. There are a number of factors that have led to this but the ongoing lag with no solution in sight is the primary one. I may come back if the issue ever gets resolved but i'm not holding my breath.

Something I have noticed.
After groupinng, returning toi Zul or Boralus DOES NOT reset you back to an Oceanic realm....you have to hearth to Dal.
Why , I dont know.
Tonight after a group, I was at 77/85 in Zul....didnt move for ten minutes, then hearthed to Dal and my latency reset back to 11/11 in less than a few minutes.

I keep refreshing this thread every day, in the dwindling hopes that there will be a reply with some actual relevance to it. But after more than four weeks, 63 pages and over 1200 comments, I see we're still 'on hold'.
I'm really becoming more and more disheartened by the day, because this expansion is so beautiful, and it had such promise, but the lag issue just completely ruins the experience.

I have been playing world of warcraft battle for azeroth on the frontmourne server and often when looting the game consistently freezes for like 5 seconds. I have been getting a few disconnects every night as well and a fair bit of rubber banding where the game will snap me back to where i was standing 10 seconds ago. This is happening consistently does anyone have a fix ? Would a American VPN help me ?

However, you have a thread thatâs 64 pages in length, I donât think thatâs going to cut it.
Read the room guys. Seriously. Thatâs a fairly insensitive tweet to put out considering the issues that your oceanic players are experiencing and have been experiencing since launch.
