Hey y'all,

Thanks for continuing to provide this information. We definitely appreciate it, and we do understand how frustrating this situation is to deal with. Keep providing that information and we will continue forwarding that over.

Can we get something more than just this response?

What are your network techs saying when they shard to our location where we are experiencing 2-5 second delays on casts?

Might try this until the monkeys figure this out, might be a early Christmas present for us all. -_-
Really bad at the moment, trying to herb but it takes about 8 secs to do. Home and world latency both 40-50ms. Playing from New Zealand

The Zone you are in: Tirigarde Sound
The character you are on: Supermutant
How long ago you had the issue: During peak (Weeknights and all weekend). Since launch - Only in BFA zones and Arathi
The Realm the affected character is on: Amun-Thul
If you are in a group or not: Solo
The Zone you are in: Tirigarde Sound
The character you are on: Pewpewpixie
How long ago you had the issue: On and Off since launch, 6 hours ago it was fine, but just now 1400 9/9/18 unplayable.
NOTE: just jumped back on and it is acceptable to play again. 1435 9/918
The Realm the affected character is on: Amun-Thul
If you are in a group or not: Solo - Warmode OFF

Thread started Aug 17, issue not fixed, no timeline on a fix, no idea whats causing it, all we get is "keep posting feedback", this combined with the night day issue means Oceanic has a vastly substandard service.

That we pay for.

We are not "fans"..we are paying customers.

A month later and we are no closer than where we were at the start...so Ill ask this again..how much longer are we going to have to put up with this?

How much "feedback" do you need to find out what the problem is and just how long are we supposed to tolerate what was not a problem in Legion?

So when will this be fixed?

How soon?

Or is this what we can expect for the next two years???

Mea culpa.
Zone: Arathi Highlands
Character: Shekinah
Realm: Khaz'Goroth
Not in a group
War mode off

I've had lag since a few days after launch. As far as I can tell it only affect "solo" play, I don't have issues while running dungeons/expeditions (except the usual 250ish ms when I'm grouped with US players). Latency in-game is the usual 35/35ms.
Playing from New Caledonia if that's relevant.

Care to ellaborate how do you block the voice server. Id like to try that
Following the war campaign quest around Tirisgarde on Caelstrasz right now, getting pretty bad lag. Not the worst I've seen, but pretty bad. Hitting a key is taking 1-2 seconds to register in game.

Playing on my monk Dahlee right now.

edit: even more frustrating, its inconsistent. One mob i hit a few times and health doesnt drop for a few seconds. Next one its more like 500-1000ms.

edit2: thinking it had improved... then had a fists of fury channel for a good 20 seconds :(

My game time ran out so I can't give you any current information.

I almost renewed as soon as I realised it wasn't a modem reset but playing hasn't been enjoyable enough to pay for.
I'll look at this thread occasionally and when the problem is solved I'll consider if I miss playing enough to return.

This is the first time my account hasn't been active since early Naxxramus (40), I took a month break then because the people I raided with were causing more grief than the enjoyment I was getting from playing. I returned when I'd sorted out another group to play with and went on to beat most of the raid.

Both times I've not had an active subscription share a lack of enjoyment in common, however this time the lack of enjoyment comes from the company taking my money not providing an enjoyable experience.

The current lag isn't normal network latency, it reminds me of the loot lag of early Classic where you'd try and loot something and nothing would happen for a long, long time. I remember crossing Un'goro Crater, on foot, in a crouched position as my character was still trying to loot!
My guess is there's either a CPU and/or I/O problem, it's like the on demand cloud services aren't spinning up fast enough. Except I don't think Blizzard uses a cloud service for this, which lands the problem squarely in Blizzards lap.

The cynic in me thinks it's a problem caused by the Accounting department. The bean counters don't want to pay for more hardware as they know, they've probably made a presentation with graphs, that the investment in hardware, to provide a good customer experience, will not provide enough revenue to make the outlay worthwhile. So they're shooting themselves in the foot as those players leaving might have stayed if the experience was better. Of course their predictions will be correct, player numbers will go down and the play experience will become enjoyable. This time I am one of the customers removing my load from the servers, so it's got better for the more persistent players.

That is from a few days ago, I meant to post it at the time but it was late and I went to bed. It was shortly after a scheduled maintenance on a different day than the one we expect scheduled maintenance on. As more players logged back in, being late it shouldn't have been that busy, the experience degraded to unenjoyable.

I've been playing as a Feral Druid using the Feral Frenzy talent. The talent give you an ability which gives you five combo points over a one second period, one every 2/10ths of a second.
Well it's supposed to, I've had it give me one and the second appears ~1.5s later, by then your GCD has cleared but if you press another button you never get the remaining three combo points. If you wait the remaining ones would turn up in the next 2-5 seconds.
While that happens the mob is beating on you and all my character is doing is auto attacks. I've never died so much leveling as I have this expansion, the last time I recall dying like this was while learning to play, in 2004.

As with yesterday, the lag is really quite bad right now. Spells take a couple seconds to work, enemies a couple seconds to react, etc. Home/World ping is in the 20's. Nagrand Oceanic. Slightering Gulch and any other world BfA zone. Right now.
Oh, and I'm not posting a traceroute again. This is not a network issue between here and the Oceanic servers. If you don't accept that yet, well... I can't imagine what could possibly convince you. You have all the info you require. Act on it.

They are not asking for Traceroutes or WinMTRs anymore. They know it's not a network or ISP issue, that's why they are sending GMs out to directly contact us ingame while we are experiencing the issue.

EDIT: To stay on topic, I have not yet experienced any more lag so far today. I spent some time in each zone earlier for WQs as well as some time hunting rares in Arathi about 5 hours ago. No lag to report.
Just had a lag spike up to 100 ms world, now down to 68 ms, prev to that had loot lag and cast lag..Im now in Nazmir.

More than just frustrating, makes playing unenjoyable. As a player that is very patient I have never felt the need to post of issues that effect the game play this significantly. The time frame to fix the issue has been over what would be considered appropriate/acceptable for a customer that is paying for a service.

People have clearly provided multiple examples. Saying you don't know is ok to me, but the time frame and the continued lack of solving this, is an excellent example of how not to run a service. This is not days, many many weeks now which has left a bitter taste for someone that has played from day one.
