I just dont understand why did they ask all of us to do connection test when we all know its their issue. Played on Frostmourne today around 3PM and everything was working just fine. Around 6PM everything went to !@#$ again (more ppl logged in). Its so obvious that Blizzard's servers can't handle lots of people so Blizzard stop wasting ourtime with this bull%^-* tests and do something about your infrastructure!
Also, would be amazing if we could get any update more then once a week!
Its happening really bad in Tirasgarde Sound on Barthilas Warmode on, 2-3 second delays on casting and looting, my addon quartz showed 1253ms for my frostbolt cast time. In game latency shows 42ms home, 43ms world.
Edit: Just checked ingame latency, showing 42ms home, 102ms world.

Frostmourne - Oceanic.
I have ran what you asked and have the results here. I have nothing but issues since launch. I've made a coupe threads and taken part in many others too.
My issues are ALWAYS in Tirigarde Sound/Boralus but not limited to there. Right now in Stormsong the lag isn't there but some days it is, other days its in Drustvar or Zandalar AND always present in Boralus/Tirigarde Sound.
NPC's take forever to respond, looting takes a long time, spells are delayed all the while, my ping seems to be fine on my end sitting at 23ms.

Still happening on Aman'thul too. I can fight and I don't die because I'm leveling tank spec. If I had to run a dungeon though, we'd all die to this.
Anything from around 20ms to 4000ms on Nagrand, this morning. Appalling. No such troubles with other non-Blizzard game servers.
Oh, and I now see the blue response. Okay, it's happening in Outland world zones for me right now. But has happened virtually everywhere except Dungeon and Battleground instances. I'll run the network tool and post results later.

This server latency has totally upset my player experience in BFA. You would expect such a major issue going on for so long would deserve some serious response from Blizzard, but nope...nada other than players need to do more testing.
It is time for Blizzard to offer compensation for this major issue or some free server transfers off Oce and perhaps back when it is corrected.
I have been a player for a decade and believe this deserves some accurate comments rather than more sneering in Blizzards back rooms.

If your IN GAME latency is spiking to 4000ms, you have a different problem and I would suggest it's local to your connection.
The symptoms of this issue are no change to latency, but obvious server side lag.
08/29/2018 04:08 AMPosted by IskrahThis issue is a pretty basic problem.
Working as an access engineer in telecommunications i see it consistently.
Blizzard does not currently have enough server capacity to maintain the oceanic player base on their shard system.
The servers / shards are congested as all hell.
Remember the days before oceanic servers? They wanted to do a deal with Telstra but it costed too much money so they had to wait.
This is basically the issue now, they have the servers, the BFA launch in oceanic was larger than expected and now they need more bandwidth to feed the servers.
They don't want to spend the money and rather than pay for a higher tier bandwidth plan they are waiting for the player base to thin out back to standard numbers that they had towards mid/end of legion when most likely the oceanic player base was much lower than it currently is.
You are making a-lot of assumptions to come to this conclusion. And Telstra overcharge? Never! It could always be worse too, they might be dealing with NBN Co hahaha.

Bandwidth issues would be more visible in terms of latency. This is almost certainly server lag. As in the VMs are chugging for some reason. The Network Engineers at work (who all play) are pretty sure this is definitely not a network issue, and is instead in the server itself, probably to do with sharding.
But Blizzard will fix it, eventually. Stuff like this can be complex.
08/29/2018 05:17 PMPosted by MatsujinBut Blizzard will fix it, eventually. Stuff like this can be complex.
Must be, if it takes 2 weeks to correct. Though I am a bit surprised it didn't show up in the various testing phases. If it's a load issue, I can understand it might not have shown up, if its a sharding issue, presumably there would have been some hint.
But Blizzard will fix it, eventually. Stuff like this can be complex.
I don't think anyone is arguing that this isn't complex. The issue here is the lack of communication from the Blizzard team. The customer service rep pops in every few days or so to let us know that there isn't a resolution yet, they're working on it, and to keep sending them WinMTR readouts when the problem is internal.
A simple response to this thread from a technical service representative (instead of customer service) would go a long way to alleviating the frustration from many players and let us know that they have an idea of what is causing the problems and are working on it instead of the deafening silence we've been getting for weeks.

It will fix itself when enough people unsub and the load reduces
Only fun I have in this game now is inside dungeons because there is ZERO lag.....
This whole world lag has ruined this expansion for me and won't be long until I stop playing..

Well, I have no such issues with other game servers. And the latency increase only shows up after everything becomes non-responsive for a few seconds to a minute sometimes. If it's my fibre connection at fault, it is certainly odd in that only WoW is affected out of the half dozen online games I play. And in WoW it is pretty much only world zones affected. How is my connection managing that? :-D
This feels like it has improved - but not resolved - since this week's maintenance but I also feel like I encounter less players out in the world which may or may not be related.
Or maybe I'm just imagining it and I've just been lucky or the honeymoon is over and less people are playing.

You've been lucky with shards.
10 second vendor lag , 5 second bank lag, 5 second GB lag, crafting takes ten seconds at least.
