Ability/Loot Lag on Oceanic Servers Despite Normal Latency

Interestingly, I don't seem to be having the issue on both my characters.
It's affecting my Fury Warrior but doesn't seem to be affecting my Prot Pally.
Lagging in Drustvar, Barthilas, Warmode On. Takes 4-5 seconds to do anything.
Was playing on Amu-Thul but had to log off as it takes about 5 secods to loot a corpse. If its not resolved then I don't think I'll resub.
With the Home and World MS showing normal, it's either lying or their server infrastructure is struggling big time under load. I don't think it matters how fast the connection is between you and the server, if it can't keep up with receiving and sending commands because of player load it won't matter what your ping is for there to be lag.

Do Blizzard have employees working in Australia on the local servers or do they have to send more senior people over from the US when things like this happen?
This won't get fixed, the call has already been made.

Wait for the casual player base to leave and then it will return to normal.
My sub is due for renewal in 12 days. I will not renew it until I hear tht this issue has been fixed.

And I have been a subscriber in an uninterrupted flow since 2009. That might give you an idea of how truly p'd off about this situation I have become.

One of my guild mates lives in Sydney, not 30 minutes away from the servers. He has an ingame latency of 5ms and is experiencing the same issues as the rest of us. The problem is NOT our connection to the server. It's the servers themselves having nuclear meltdowns.

Yes it's Bandwidth and don't expect more either :)

If the problem was purely bandwidth, it would be reflected by an increased latency.

That's over the line, internally it's bandwidth.
This makes me so angry. My latency is fine, solid 15 all the time, only jumps when phased into another server on a PUG run. BUT the server itself has completely sucked the fun out of playing, and now all I feel is frustrated and annoyed. I can't even kill a group of mobs on the side of a road because I can't attack without waiting 3-5 seconds for it to register. That is on my ret pali, ffs. Shields and bubbles dont help because I can't activated them in time.
Angry and frustrated is NOT how I want to feel when I play a game to enjoy it. Fix the F-ing game already. The way it is currently is trash.
This is why I am no longer playing. The experience is sub par and I am not paying money for this terrible service. I have been subbed on and off (more so on) since 2005 and this just kills me.
I have stopped logging on as regularly too from this lag. It is unplayable in peak times.
Blizzard.... Maybe phoning Equinix will help :/

Just joining in to add my 2 cents on this matter.

It's kind of concerning that, despite the horrific lag, both Home and World MS are both displaying a consistent, stable 25.

Makes me wonder if the MS display just straight-up lying about server performance is maybe intentional. This is the same Blizzard that decided the best way to make Overwatch's win/lose rate feel more natural and organic was to just remove the ability to see it at all, afterall.

It is congestion on the server .

You have to wonder, if this was happening on Illidan or some other major US server, if it would take this long to fix....
The answer to that is yes, it would. https://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/20760807309?page=11#post-204

Not the same level of impact. AH lag impacts you specific activities. Open world lag makes most of the game unplayable.

Playing on Dath'Remar with Warmode off.
This is kind of the trend I've been seeing. As far as I can tell, at least for Oceanic players, the lag seems to be exclusive to people playing WITHOUT Warmode on.

I wonder if maybe the Warmode Shards are given higher priority, and are simply taking up all the viable OCE Shard slots.

I've always got warmode on, the lag is still there. Sometimes really bad too.

I have heard this sentiment frequently. The longer this goes unfixed the more people are saying Blizzard doesnt care because we arent American.

I dont agree with them, but I am hearing it more.

That and the fact the Oceanic forums havent seen a CM in over a year...hate to say it but the communication has been....wanting.

We in NA have had a problem getting stuck on your servers for over a year now which causes us unplayable lag. I had to stop joining groups on group finder in the early morning because it wasn't good enough just not joining ones with oceanic leads - if anyone from oceanic even joined the groups I would end up getting stuck on your servers and had to hearth back to Dalaran and completely exit the game before I could get back to my own server.

This problem was reported multiple times and still isn't fixed.

The exact same problem exists in the reverse as well. And has existed for as long as there has been Australian-hosted servers. It is inexcusably easy for an Aus player to wind up in a US shard or instance server and be left with unbearable lag until logging out to force the game to bring us back into our own servers.

It's especially bad when doing LFG or LFR. Sometimes I'm halfway convinced that there just AREN'T Australian instance servers.
