Abandoned quest like a dummy - now I am stuck

Hello friends. I’m having an issue with my mage, Tramen-Kilrogg.

I logged in to my mage (Tramen) yesterday to start Shadowlands. The first thing I did, without looking, is abandon every quest in my log to get a fresh start.

As soon as I finished ditching the last quest, I looked to the top of the log and realized that at some point back near launch, I must have completed step one, “Shadowlands: A Chilling Summons,” because there are no quests in my log and I am directed to “Accept the quest ‘Through the Shattered Sky’ in Orgrimmar to continue’.” I believe this is the quest I abandoned.

Problem is, there is no NPC offering me “Through the Shattered Sky” in Org anymore. The “Through the Shattered Sky” quest marker appears on the Org map, as if I should be able to pick it up, right near the Winter Veil tree.

Nazgrim is there, with the two knights “channeling.” Nazgrim tells me to go through the Death Gate. There is no Death Gate. I saw info on a bug where the Death Gate wasn’t visible to people that were stuck on Legion intro quests, but that’s not me. My quest log is blank and I completed the Legion intros many years ago.

I tried to manually go to Ebon Hold off the coast of Broken Shore, but there’s nothing there for me and the NPC grabs me and flies me back to Legion Dalaran if I try to land.

Of course I am trying with a completely fresh UI, etc.

I am an idiot. :rofl: :rofl: You think with all the time I spend in here I wouldn’t make dumb mistakes. Oh well, go figure.

I have an associated ticket I am progressing on: US77184786 (Tramen-Kilrogg), but I am still in the clarification stage, and I thought maybe there was an outside chance of some progress here; I can’t begin SL content at all because of this silly quest issue.

I want to make sure I’m following.

When you open your quest log, it displays the shadowlands campaign, and tells you the next step is “Through the Shattered Sky?” And you’ve definitely done Legion on the character?

Is it possible this character is partway through some of the BFA questlines that happen in the center of Orgrimmar?

To your first question: Yes, my log shows the SL campaign only, and wants me to go accept “Through the Shattered Sky”. Legion is definitely done and done on this toon, from beginning to end.

To the second: Yes. I stopped doing BfA quest on this toon during erm… “Stay of Execution” where you meet up with Thrall. That “!” is still on my map.

I have nothing better to do right now so I’m going to go clear that BfA quest. Maybe it will help.

My addons are back on in these screenies but I’ve tried with a fresh UI to no avail, so I reverted and turned them all back on.

I think finishing the Stay of Execution questline will solve your problem.

It was worth a shot, and it was fun saving Bloodhoof again, but there’s no change. Everything is still like the screenshots I posted (except no “!” for Stay of Execution now, of course.)

“Through the Shattered Sky” on map, no quest actually available in Org at that spot, quest log says, “Pick up “Through the Shattered Sky” to proceed.”

Your probably gona have to wait on your ticket unless one of the blues takes a look good news is tickets are averaging 3-4 days

Yeah, last night when I put one in, they said it was only 24 hours, and when I logged in this morning I already had my first answer.

I’m content to wait. :sunglasses: I’m just at a dead standstill on that toon with no workaround. Eh, no matter, I have two dozen other toons to work on. :rofl:

Do you have the DK portal showing in Org? If so, take it, if it allows you to.

Also, I am not stuck on Legion intro quests, as the most popular fix for the “missing death gate” suggests. My quest log is empty, and I completed Legion content on Tramen all the way to the end of the Argus campaign.

The only difference in what I see now, versus the screenshots, is the “!” for “Stay of Execution” is gone. I completed that at Yverian’s suggestion to see if it would prompt a phase change. Unfortunately, it did not.

it looks like you haven’t finished the end of one of the allied races questlines - Mag’har Orcs - https://www.wowhead.com/quest=51479/the-uncorrupted

You may want to finish that quest and then see what’s possible.

Wait, what? I earned Mag’har orcs ages ago.

Fair enough, though, I’ll follow that trail and see where it leads.

I’m not certain why you aren’t able to pick that back up or see the Death Gate so you can go through the meet Bolvar. I know we’ve seen similar issues but those should be resolved so we likely have something else happening. I would definitely report that as a bug if you haven’t already.

Well… I might have investigated and during that investigation your Tramen might have found herself talking to Bolvar. She should just need to move forward through the teleport. :slight_smile:
