This would be not a bad cheeve but it seems something is always broke, like non-spawning Cataloger Quests and Storms. Not sure why this are an issue now … cough (blunderstorm) cough cough!
Fix your sh*t Blizz!

That’s one hell of a reach.
The unfortunate thing about both is the whole “please wait another week for a quest you need to randomly spawn”.
“Complete this story” is fine.
“Do 8 of these quests” like Eon’s Fringe is fine.
But “do all of these, and god only knows when THIS one will spawn” is trash.
nah, the achievement is comprised of almost nothing but mob grinds.
Not really, but you do you boo!
And no one is telling you to get gud mate. We’re just sharing our experiences like you’re sharing yours. When we say “you could have worked on it from the start” we’re not attacking you personally.
I’m sorry you’re having terrible luck with world quests spawning, it sucks. Maybe it’s a bug, maybe it’s just RNG being RNG. I personally haven’t seen Friends With Feathers achievement WQ up, doesn’t mean it won’t be at some point.
I usually agree with the “if you played the game, you should already have it”. And yea, had I known Taivan was going to be a mount, and it was going to take A World Awoken to get him, I would have been doing everything.
But we did not know about Taivan. I had figured, since he was basically a Support Dog now, we might get a reskin of a bakkar, but it wouldnt be the Goodest Boy himself.
Had I known Taivan would have been the Meta reward, I would have grinded out Sebillion rep when I did the rep grind for Wrathion. I would have done the Cobalt Assembly rep, even though literally none of its rewards interest me.
I only engage with content if the rewards are interesting to me. Black scales for most of my drakes? I loved the storylines of Wrathion, so I went and grinded out his Rep. Figured Sebillion was just a usurper trying to take what rightfully belonged to Wrathion, so I ignored his rep.
The Time Rifts didnt interest me. I figured I would eventually see those battle pets on the Ah, but now I have to do a BUNCH of em in the hopes RNG will bless me with the last few quest items and end portals.
Due to IRL issues, I had to skip the Forbidden Reach patch, so I have to do that entire part of the Meta. And from what I have seen, nobody likes that part of the meta. The scrolls being the worst offender it seems.
OP is right. This achievement is not fun, and games are meant to be fun. I am going to go play Onslaught in D2 now. They will either nerf the Meta, switch the Reward and make Taivan a reward for his quest chain, or I will work on the cheevo like one a year or something.
Yes, really. Plunderstorm was active for weeks with no issues with world content - that only happened once they tried to add double storms back in.
But a lot of people did all this, because we did find the rewards fun. That you don’t doesn’t mean it’s a bad achievement! It just means it didn’t interest you, and now that it does, you have months to grind it out as slowly as you need to to keep it interesting.
Just going to requote something I said earlier as it may help you with the Forbidden Reach in regards to “Scroll Hunter”:
I hope it helps, because that part was the one I thought would suck the most going back to, and it wasn’t!
Fun is literally the point they’re arguing. The baseline rewards weren’t fun enough, but Tavian is fun enough.
have fun with the Librarian of the Reach achievement.
many people have commented on wowhead that it took them many, many months of opening all 40 doors in zskera vaults every week on multiple characters to finally get “the Old Gods and the Ordering of Azeroth (Annotated)”.

read the comment by TripleSun:
My 7 month journey is finally over. It finally spawned on 2nd floor for me today… I can finally live my life unburdened… Don’t give up folks. It’ll spawn. Eventually
And if the meta was “do 80 of the following 120 achievements” then people wouldn’t complain.
If I could swap in The Ohn’aran Trail achievement (which I have, and, I note, YOU DON’T, so don’t lecture me) for the Nat Pagle picture achievement, I’d be jim dandy.
All a guess before the achievement is added. Would it be better to have the meta added earlier? possibly.
I guess if you’re going to go for these Metas than get as many achievements as possible done as soon as possible. That seems to be you’re playstyle. Given your number of achievements.
My advice would be for people to do them with friends and family and they will be probably be less of a grind. If not, it is a lot of work to get through and a lot of play time. That is what Blizzard is trying to achieve with these. They want people to be more active in the game.
And if it was required, I wouldn’t be on the forums complaining, I would be working on it in game. The Nat Pagle achievement has been available for the same length of time as the Ohn’aran Trail one.
This is my biggest issue. Had I known Taivan was going to be a reward for completing everything, I would have already gotten it by now, because I would have been working on it while doing the grinds for rewards that did interest me.
Thanks, Ill give that a try sometime this week.
Yea its stuff like that that makes just drop my mouse and alt-f4. I havent even gotten on in a few days cuz of how much I dont want to do any of this. Farming Sim and d2 have been way more fun.
So uh, you run Dawn of the Infinite heroics, you get rep per boss kill. Spamable, boring, but can go fast if you’re determined.
I played Shadowlands and Dragonflight in similar fashion, I tried completing things as I went, because I learned from BFA, that trying to rush to complete everything at the end was gonna feel insurmountable. When they announced the meta for SL I had some torghast achieves and that one Necrolord Maw Assault quest that would never ever ever spawn left, so, not that much left, and I still had a miserable time chasing Veilstrider. Fun’s subjective, happy you had fun in the Maw and Torghast, and some of the other items you listed. I can’t tell you how much I detested the Kyrian gladiator fights, or doing Torghast speed runs for score.
when they announced the SL meta, i basically had it all completed because the shadowlands content was actually fun.
all i had to do was a few of the more obscure achieves.
i already had maw walker done before that title was put into the game.
so that everyone here is clear: the purpose of this thread is not to complain about blizzard not telling us about the meta achievement - the purpose of this thread is to provide feedback that the content in the meta is mostly just a boring grind that can be described as lazy implementation of outdoor content at best.
the shadowlands outdoor content and meta achieve was fun…the DF outdoor content is not.
but, on a side note, blizzard could be a little more proactive and tell us that they plan to put an achievement in their expansion meta when that achievement is released. This would go a long way to help people feel less frustrated about the achievement as a whole (also it would get more people to actively engage with the content as it is released and new, rather than just a grindy afterthought for a meta achieve)
I just wish Elemental Storms would work period.
The problem is not the achivements or the rng, is that the meta might have a time limit to get like the shadowlands one.
