A World Awoken is not a fun achievement to complete

And because the point of the discussion is to get the feedback to Blizz, and this is the cruz of the feedback provided here:

I would have to agree to disagree. For me, I had the most fun during shadowlands with the Covenant quests and the dungeons. With DF I’ve had tons of fun with the outdoor content, not so much with the DF dungeons.

the DF outdoor content is quite stale.

  1. maruuk hunts: boring grinds of just killing lots of mobs or walking around with an item (that wont let you mount)
  2. Community Soup in Iskaara: Used to be kind of fun, you get to dps fish heads, etc., now it is all just “go buy this item from this person and this person isnt marked on your map, so have fun finding it”
  3. Time rifts: just a boring grind of mobs
  4. Superbloom: just a boring grind of mobs
  5. Big Digs: not just a boring grind of mobs, some of the activities are engaging but you rarely get a task if there is alot of people at the big dig - so they are more fun solo than in a group.

DF outdoor content was not fun at all… i did some stuff because i figured it would be in the end of expac meta… i did forbidden reach stuff because i had to make like 10 rings on one of my toons after all the re-tuning of the annulet, i did not like it at all…

Zskera vaults puzzles were boring and annoying - having to find a room to get a buff, then having to find the room where that buff is useful, going up to the top floor, searching around, going back down to the bottom - i dreaded going in there every week. luckily i got the “Old Gods and Ordering of Azeroth” randomly because i just had to open so many vaults for the multiple rings I made.

I didn’t find anything fun about outdoor content in DF. The dungeons were kinda OK, but i enjoyed the older dungeons that were retuned for mythic plus such as Darkheart thicket, Blackrook hold, Neltharion’s Lair, Freehold, Underrot.

the best part about DF mythic plus seasons were the old dungeons that were brought back - the actual DF dungeons were either “meh at best” or downright obnoxious.

the covenant quests were fun, i had already did all four of them and got 80 renown on all of them before the meta achieve (or even the achieve for re-re-renown by itself was released - i did it for fun).

the covenant special things were fun: venthyr party, abom stitching, kyrian mini game.

Korthia was amazing: it was terrible when it was current content and tied to player power progression but after that, in season 3, it was really fun to go back there and do all the secret stuff to get mounts like finding the 5 mushrooms, getting Kon’throgz to spawn for his mount, spawning the covenant rares for those mounts.

Maw was actually a lot of fun once we could mount there - season 1 i just got exalted with venaari for the sockets, didnt enjoy it.

but once we could mount in the maw, i ended up doing all the achieves there (even before the veilstrider meta was announced… i had maw walker done before maw walker was an achievement)

you think i wanna run a useless heroic and slog through carrying four other undergeared or levelling people (who, at the same time, are complaining that I’m tanking too fast despite the fact that I’m basically soloing the whole dungeon)…no thanks. I could just walk into the dungeon and set it on heroic to solo it all, but then that boils down to being as boring as the soridormi grind - i’m basically just grinding a bunch of mobs. (but to be clear, i would prefer to solo it rather than join a random dungeon finder group for it)

i avoid queued content at all costs, mostly because of the people who inhabit queued content such as heroics. I do mythic plus and raids because i get to choose my party members, but im not a fan of being forced into a group with other people

Well ill let my gameplay decide which one was better and that would be Shadowlands one, in other words i did most of the Shadowlands req by simply playing the game, i didnt go out of my way to dedice my time to something like i had to for Df one. Df has too much rng tied to it, that souldnt be the case. If they want to go with this route make stuff have schedual rotation.

so much RNG

  1. Legendary photos tied to random world quests being active
  2. Fishing hole quests tied to RNG whether or not the one you need is active.
  3. DF zone treasures only being lootable after you find the treasure map (one map for each treasure) that are noted as being less than a 1/200 drop rate.

Time-Lost Memo - Item - World of Warcraft (wowhead.com)

0.3 drop rate from dirt piles

there’s tons more as well but everyone knows that.

I don’t think any of the meta achievements were fun.

Slightly related but is there a time limit on getting that mount or you can get it anytime you want and take your time to grind for it?

Its also not fun to complete because they shrunk Taivan. His whole identity is that he’s this massive dog.

Should they not have had this achievement in place a lot earlier then? Or did they? (i honestly don’t know)

it just seems crappy to add a massive meta like this so late in the game, what would have been the harm of having it in our achievement tabs with the yet to be released content ones blanked out or something? Adding things like this after the content is over always causes issues, or highlights pre-existing issues.

I haven’t started the new one and I doubt I will, but I enjoyed Back from Beyond, having a reason to explore all the unusual bits of the expansion I hadn’t touched before and getting to know all the different covenants and zones and whatnot. Were there some things I’d change? Maybe one or two, but ultimately I enjoyed it.

If people aren’t having fun with A World Awoken, maybe they just don’t like Dragonflight?

Said no one, ever. Lmao.

Its made me realize just how boring most of the content in dragon flight is. Farming keys, cobalt, storms etc… so many achieves are related to time rifts, hunts, the research in the cave omg please save us lol.

There’s no time limit on it. Some of the achievements, like the 3 bosses in the Storm’s Fury event, will be really hard to do without a group though.

Gotcha, thank you!

I see no indication that it will. It’s in the main achievements list, whereas Veilstrider was a hidden meta that went into Feats of Strength. Also it’s in its own new category alongside the newly added permanent version of the Veilstrider meta. All signs point to it not being time-limited in any way.

I missed most of the expansion, so it’s been fun to get to experience some of this stuff with people around. That said, they went way too far on a small handful of the achievements. I do believe they’d get more engagement in the meta if they cleaned up those that are keeping people away.

I hated almost everything in Shadowlands - nothing was ‘fun’ there.

Counter point from somewhere doing back from the beyond: this achieve is also bad

Some maw offensive quests are rng when they appear. Some cov achieves are way more involved (NF vs Necro abom factory)

I played all of SL so frankly i shouldnt have to engage with the lame crap they put in now that i didn’t bother with then.

These metas need a fresh coat of paint

I play MMORPGs to kill internet monsters. This is my idea of fun. You might like Palia if you don’t like killing mobs.

Since when have these end of expansion meta achievements ever been fun?

They have always sucked to do, which is why I will never do them.
