You’re correct you didnt say it, The point was made and it was in my head, seeing as i didnt debate this person, but did you, i had misconstrued it to be a point you made, My apologies for that.
Having said all of that. Using discord among your que syncers, knowing that the opponents are just not going to join 39 other randoms(in an inferior voice chat, or a random untrusted discord), who all believe each other to be drooling simpletons, and then combat the force that is your cheat squad is just mindblowing, and victim blaming. Most of them would be happier to just leave, and as much as i dislike leavers, when its against cheaters i cant blame them.
My dears Anthem and Hi-res. Can the two of you please answer me why this conversation about whether premading is right or wrong is 15 years old and we are still having the same cylindrical conversation?
My dear Mary Magdalene, as much as i love being called anthem, because its a very cute nickname. My name is Anathemae, or Anathemay, as you prefer. My friends may call me Annah. (the “H” is important to me.)
While you might have had this conversation on repeat doll, i have not, and it is something that impacts my enjoyment of the game, as it does with others here, so we discuss it here.
Fair enough. Are you familiar with the history of multi boxing? What is your stance on multi boxers. Please do not mistake my tone. Premading is definitely unfair. I have a solid and intelligent point to make.
Any advantage that can be gained, in a pvp scenario, outside of the game mechanics itself.
that requires you to have something your opponents typically would not, and you know that they typically would not, is cheating.
Multiboxing is cheating because it is atypical of the playerbase to create 5 accounts, purchase (i dont actually know if you buy them, but if you dont, replace purchase with download) a key cloning software, and then create several macros in which to take advantage of the now simultaneously piloted accounts, just to win more in a random pvp combat scenario, Do notice, that outside of actively piloting the characters, everything else is done outside of the game.
I also view twinking in this same light, though it is more of a stretch, because while it is entirely atypical of players to play this way, it does happen nearly entirely in game. (even if you have to do some very … questionable things, to pull it off, i consider it to be exploiting as well.)
If you were in charge of designing the game systems that, by your reasons above, are being exploited in a way that you did not intend them to be used, how would you handle it? What would you, as a designer do?
While I may not be able to pilot a helicopter, I certainly can tell when someone has done a poor job. For instance, the helicopter is now in a tree.
I’m a fairly direct person and don’t expect my answers to be the absolute best solution.
If I were Blizzard, in regards to queue syncing, I would simply take a side. Either way, it doesn’t matter. Blizzard could make it so that every person in the game could join a 40-man raid group and queue together. These queues would be placed separately from those 5-man groups and below queuing for random epics. If Blizzard doesn’t want to support this kind of gameplay, they could also look at the communities these people are in. If they’re consistently playing with members of their own community en masse (say 20+ people 60% of the time), start suspending them. If they were to take this hard stance, the communities that do this are fairly well known, and reporting is possible (assuming they would act on them), which would help narrow down these players. Doing this would dwindle down the syncers i believe to a negligible amount.
In regards to multiboxers, I believe they’ve handled it quite well. While there have been some complaints about them on the forums, I’ve yet to see a single one. Fieldarmy was confirmed to not be a multiboxer, I believe. I don’t believe I would do anything more.
Finally, in regards to twinking, I’d just disable enchants/gems in low-level PvP brackets, while also rewarding the highest possible item level gear from the boxes in those PvP brackets. As a great man once said, “When everyone’s super, no one will be.”
So essentially Blizzard should:
A - Take a stance
B - Implement that stance into the game via the design
This is a good answer. It is not our job to figure out how. That is Blizzard’s job.
Multi boxing was deemed unfair by Blizzard. They took a stance and designed the game so it could not be done.
People premade for different reasons but one of the reasons I hope Blizzard is aware of is community. Blizzard has ignored this issue and it has been left to the players to create the experience they desire. This has resulted in very unfair gameplay that is ruining people’s experience in epics.
Blizzard sees this - I hope!
If I was a designer, I would strive to end the ability to queue sync and I would implement a different queueing system for premades and have the wargame option up front where everyone knows it’s a thing. Promote it. I would strive to promote premades understanding the social aspect of it but stop them from ruining the 5 man queues. I’m sure there are better ways as well.
But if Blizzard doesn’t want this system being used this way, I believe they are smart enough to come up with a way. And why have they not?
This game has many problems, a large number of which directly affect the pvp player base. We’ve received no new content in I don’t know how long. (Except for reskinned arena maps because blizz still wants wow to be an esport) epics get to be the playground of ranged characters, and healers get to count as 3 people, and punished, and coddled like a newborn.
My opinion is that blizzard does not care. They don’t care about PvP, they don’t care about battlegrounds, and they don’t care about us. This is why despite having acknowledged the problem exists, they have done nothing. They don’t care.
Unfortunately I agree with you. Blizzard spends a ton of time and resources designing PvE content. The raids themselves have a very short life span of 6 months or so.
WSG has been around for 15 years and is still being played. PvP content is evergreen. But they have neglected PvPiers especially with content.
I didn’t see what they originally posted, so just guessing based on the replies. Some premade raiders mentioned they use an addon to streamline their sync queuing process and make it more error-free.
Sometimes I truly wonder if you and inema are the same person . Some of the stuff y’all both type is questionable at that . A bunch of nonsense thrown up trying to sound smart
