No thanks. Here’s my two cents as to why I say “no”: If you give players an inch, they will take a mile.
If Blizzard gave in to QoL change A, it is a fact that players will take QoL change A and QoL change B. From there it continues to snowball into QoL change C, D, E, F, G, H, … you get the picture or at least I hope you you. I strongly doubt that Blizzard will allow SS to stack.
You might be… but others strongly disagree. I just don’t think this is going to happen.
Noble as your intention may be and ‘rationalised’ as you may see it – not many people will agree with you - myself included.
I levelled a Hunter in BC - they had to give up an entire Bag Slot for ammo and also had to constantly carry extra food for their Pets.
It’s things like inventory management which - believe it or not - gave challenge and flavour to the game.

I main as a warlock. -1. No to stacking. If end up with thousands, then I’d never need to collect pre raid or dungeon. Why not allow hunters to stack infinite ammo too?
It simply takes away from the game
Better yet! Just remove shards and add shard fragments that don’t take up bag space at all. You get shard fragments and complete shards by being out of combat or casting spells while in combat.
Wouldn’t that just Be fA amazing

P.S. Please stop calling us “nostalgic.” We simply want a specific version of the game, and adding changes – no matter how “insignificant” they may seem – will not only cause problems, but it’ll end up giving us (the players) a version of the game that’s nothing like what we’re after.

Item stacking does not hurt rp. Soul shard stacking does. The key is in the name it is also something you cannot buy at a vendor for that reason. They are souls and because they are souls they are unique.
I also believe soul shards should have unique names. There used to be an addon that assigned names to soul shards, hope it comes back.
Do mounts stack?
If he knew how to play the class then he would know that the ability to stack soul shards is unnecessary and in some instances make warlocks overpowered which is a perfect example of not knowing the class or how to play it.
its that whole class fantasy thing rearing its ugly head that modern wow players have forgotten about
