A simply way to fix BM's terrible AOE

Blizzard needs to change bleak powder to a circular explosion around your target not a cone. In most Mythic Plus you have a priority target you are trying to kill first you can’t just pick the add in the front. On most pulls my bleak powder misses a third of the adds.
If this is still not enough reduce the cooldown of explosive shot to 15 seconds.

They need to do the same with survival’s bombs

The ability that does almost nothing for BM ?

Please don’t. Just fix the cone’s detection process, extend its range by 3 yards, and shift the start of the cone 3 yards towards the Hunter. The effective area of the cone is far, far more than that of a radial explosion and makes far more sense for what the WFB actually is — a fantasy Molotov cocktail, not a Mk 2 or M26, etc.

Not sure why theyre even talented into explosive shot tbh. BM aoe is fine with Bleak Powder as is…kinda wish it still did damage to the initial target but I understand why they changed it not to.

Have you ever seen a molotov or a grenade explode in a cone?

Bm doesn’t have terrible aoe.

WFB is a jug of viscous accelerant (gooey flammable liquid, if you prefer). It will ignite whatever said accelerant and some flame source both touch. Said accelerant will continue forward in a spread from the point at which it was released (by the initial, minimal explosion deshelling the projectile).

The gel does not, after being chucked up to 35 yards, ignore momentum to neatly spread in 360 degrees.

And, more importantly, the opportunities available to us in using WFB would be much reduced if it was changed from nearly the size of a barrage to another standard little circle. And that’s before even considering that, frankly, maneuvering to optimize its use (something impossible and therefore irrelevant to a radial AoE) is fun for those who like positional engagement (who also tend to be found far more often among melee players).

Depends how you look at it, when you play Survival, BM is terrible across the board

Nah I just think most people are bad at the game.

Now you’re into physics and the viscosity of a substance. The thinker it is the more momentum it will pick up and less resistance air friction there will be. A heavier liquid will be able to travel in a straighter line than a water. Also direction of the object will play into it, was it thrown in a straight line or tossed then fell.

However, it’s a fantasy world so it doesn’t need to obey physics, and if Blizzard wanted to make it a cone than it just making it hit in a cone.

Too much over thinking this.

Of course you do, you’ve been saying that no one but you knows how to play this game for 2 months now

Never once said that.

If you’re going to lie at least make it believable.

Depends on one’s definition of terrible.

It’s serviceable, can do the job, and not a hard rotation in any way. So it’s certainly playable.

However, it has been statistically proven by the logs, using the top 5%, to be dead last in throughput. The gap between top and last is significant.

Someone has to be last, and right now its BM Hunter.

While I don’t expect all classes to be exactly the same, it would be nice if they had them a little closer. While hunters have some great utility, they don’t bring anything that is of enough value to substantiate bringing them over another class with higher output.

If you play with your own M+ team, a BM hunter will be fine. However, if you are trying to pug higher content, BM hunters will more often then not be skipped over for another class.

So no, not terrible, but certainly not desirable, either.

Since the rework I have had zero issues pugging tens and higher.

Of course, you’re gods gift to hunters, we are all aware…

However, your experience isn’t typical for most hunters. Unless you are like 625+ as a BM, getting accepted into higher keys(11+) involves many applications and waiting,

Never said that.

Most people under 625 aren’t going to get invited to 11s or higher regardless of class.

That’s not true at all. Maybe 13+, but there are definitely many 620-625s that can get into 11/12s easily.

If BM wasn’t as bad as people exclaim, you wouldn’t need to look to #870 in the M+ top rankings before a BM hunter can be found. The only other specs to not have at least one representee in the top 500 is Devoker and SubRogue. Both classes amongst the least played, as well. Yet, BM Hunter the second most played class behind only Ret Pally.

So back to my main point, BM hunter is playable with serviceable AoE, but well behind the pack. So calling it terrible isn’t unreasonable, and in the context of comparing it to other classes, is completely an understandable statement.

Pretty sure that’s why the suggestion offered was this:

I was explaining that reality doesn’t apply to a fantasy game.
