I hadn’t mained Alliance since Wrath, but I mained them in 8.0 because I just couldn’t go along with Sylvanas.
I did main Horde in 8.1, but for that I just ignored the plot other than recruiting the Zandalari, which I did on my troll hunter. Then I went back to Alliance in 8.2, and then back Horde in 8.3 when the faction conflict was done.

Logically, as the former Ranger General of Quel’thalas, she should be.
As the character that went “No Arthas, I will never tell you about the runestones that protect our forest and are preventing your entrance!”… it’s debatable.

Yeah, it’s said she is, but not often shown. Sacrificing troops to try and get an advantage over a guy who can literally raise your dead against you was also a questionable tactic.
But they also showed her giving up her ranged advantage and sliding right into frostmourne.

Honestly, the only good tactical decision I remember coming from her, off the top of my head, was opposing the bombing on Theramore on the basis of Alliance retaliating on Undercity.

Makes me wonder if she actually became a ranger general on merit or if it’s just because previous Windrunners were good, or at least were said to be.
11 years of playing and I still don’t understand the layout of Stormwind.
The only path I actually know it’s the one that leads to the throne room… for obvious reasons.

It’s pretty easy with flying.
Just match the roof colour to the district.
Blue for trade, red for old town, purple for mage, brown for dwarven, yellow for cathedral and the park was also purple, but it’s long gone.

The inside of the Alliance portal room is better, but getting there sucks. Man, forget that tower.

I had a hard time in Undercity for the longest time. I think that might be why I hated Sylvanas from the started. I dragged my butt from the ghostlands to undercity, got lost for hours, and then she basically gets snotty about it pretending she doesn’t care and then sings.

Totally understandable, I have it phased for all of my Alliance characters so I can still go to Darnassus because it’s the only city I know where most everything is.

Undercity confused me so much when I first went there because I was pretty new, and I had no idea the second floor was decorative only.

Which brings the question about why are we paying them MORE for rehashed stuff? under this -realistic- premise BfA expac should have costed half of MoP´s or something.
Unless you are a Kul´tiras / Jaina fanboy/fangirl. Those managed to get both Daelin´s validation from his -formerly depicted as racist- WC3 self AND validation over Jaina´s Karen esque deffinition of neutrality simultaneously.

I honestly hope devs AT LEAST don´t deffile your race further by making Calia “I´m the poster child of moms that abandon their kinds for years and then come back pretending no time happened at all” Menethil your racial leader. That´s a step too far imho.
I usually design my tmogs over the weapon colors (I´m quite picky in regards to weapon aesthetics vs. race. Hate blunt square “swords” on my male Belf but love them for my Tauren / Orcs).
She would look at Lor´themar´s warning dialogue text in SoO´s post ending cinematic and then at devs mentioning “Lor´themar is the most supportive of Sylvanas becoming Warchief out of all the Horde racial leaders” /facepalm
I mean I even believed his cameos in the Vol´jin death scenario (when he says not all will understand and the camera switches to Lor´themar and Baine) meant he WAS reluctant. I suppose NOT on Danuser´s nor Afriasiabi´s collective fanfiction A.K.A. BfA.
I still can´t play Alliance, bores me to tears… the “we can only be lawful good white knight esque bois” gets too old too fast for me. Denigrating cartoonish villain batting is still preferable in my case.

Really? I can get lost while walking on a straight line and I loved Undercity from the start. It’s a hamster wheel. Just keep spinning and eventually you’ll find what you’re looking for.
Imo, Ironforge has a better layout.
