Honestly it would be awesome to see a Sword and Board DPS spec in this game that isnt a tank. i dont really care how its done, or what class it is but it seems silly that such a cool aestetic is missed in the game.
something like a Zeal paladin in D2 would be cool AF, or even just letting Arms warriors weild a shield with a 2hander (basically how defensive stance looks without the penalty). i dont even care if its part melee/part ranged (like survival for instance) and uses magic i just feel the game needs this, as i was a huge fan of gladiator stance when it was around.
Best Dps spec ever in this game was Glad stance. You will be missed and one of the reasons I loved WoD.
With that said you can play New World and be a Sword Master build. Not sure why WoW is so behind in game and class design. There is nothing better than doing Dps with a shield.
Reminds me of my protection Paladin in BfA 8.3. No joke I’d be topping the meters just in an insane way thanks to comboing TD with Seraphim. so much fun. Felt really good with the interrupts too absolute machine of a class.
I loved gladiator stance while it lasted!
On most movies I have seen, Roman and medieval armies fought with a shield.
But for some reason games do not have many sword and board characters.
Would love to see a gladiator class added.
Yea I like Sword and Board in Neverwinter and PvP was tons of fun. Back in the day ran an SS Barb in D2 PvPing which was classic. Now working on an Sword and Shield with Ice Gauntlet in New world. Really lovin that game. I expect it to continue to set player records. Extremely enjoyable.
honestly even a Paladin dps spec like a shockadin would be hella cool and fit the theme imo. reason i dont say shaman is because elemental is a caster and doesnt melee at all.
but yea watching new world players use sword and shield and stuff just wish it was in the game some how and not a tank spec.
They pretty much removed it because in pvp it was broken beyond belief. And in pve they said they didn’t want it to compete with other tanks specs for shields despite blood dks having to fight dps for 2 hand weapons. Even then, they nerfed it to absolute crap to the point where no bothered playing it for pve or pvp and then it was removed next expansion
WoD was the expansion when Blizzard came up with the idea of nerfing to oblivion anything that would require some sort of effort to fix, then just quietly removing it on the following expansion.
