I haven’t RP’d in awhile but have been playing casually in my super-dead old guild. I really wanted to try getting back into it, particularly Night Elf RP, during this super boring downtime waiting for Shadowlands.
If anyone is aware of an active guild, community, or Discord, please let me know! I’m not so much needing a guild to feed me a plot to be a part of, but rather a Night Elf community where I can connect and RP with other Night Elves.
I appreciate the mention! There’s a few guilds that are taking it easy until Shadowlands, as well as the MG night elf Discord. This thread is wonderful to find what you’re looking for in terms of Discords. There is also an in-game community that is figuring out ways to bring about connections in RP
I actually did look at Gaeia’s post but it claimed that they were not really doing much until Shadowlands, and I am looking for a place to RP to fill the time between now and Shadowlands.
The discords I’ve found, many in that post, were similarly inactive, but I didn’t know about the chat channels! Thanks for that, I’ll start there.
Happy to help! It’s unfortunate the state of nelf RP as a whole on MG and WRA. BFA’s narrative really threw people into the crushing of inspiration. Here’s hoping Shadowlands, and the reveal of their new home after Shadowlands will reinvigorate that passion.
Gwynestri, Jashar and Zakami for Starlight Vigil. I am friends with all 3 of them and they are all wonderful. You can tell them I sent ya! As for the other guild, I am not too sure tbh but they are always friendly to me in game!
You don’t really have a lot of options right now. Due to the content lull a lot of people just aren’t logging in, sadly. The groups, discords, and guilds you see listed here are all dead which it seems you have already discovered for yourself.
What you will find posted here on the forums are the same tired people recruiting for the same tired guilds, just under new names. Starlight Vigil is only a brand new guild in name. It’s actually a bunch of Ru Shallora Enudoril members who mass exited the guild last week, including its former founder/leader who also ragequit RSE twice.
My advice would be to pray something truly new pops up for all of you kaldorei blowing in the wind or try to make new friends when you’re playing while people wait for Shadowlands to land.
I came to this post because, like the OP, I too have just recently transferred to MG with a couple of my Night Elf characters. I was hoping to get some good direction from the post (based on the title and all)… but I was not expecting everything that has been unpacked in this thread - whew.
This advice alone is terribly disheartening. I’ve not been on Moon Guard for long - maybe only a couple weeks or so - but I’ve already had so many positive experiences with characters I rolled up here to test the waters. However, I’m becoming quite saddened by the prospect that it is going to be a struggle to find anything stable for my main NE characters here. I don’t know that I have what it takes to start/lead anything brand new - especially being new on the server myself - but all of this sure makes me wish I was more confident in that…
(Apologies for posting from a random WrA character, but for whatever reason my character list for who I can post with hasn’t updated in forever - ugh.)
I hate to be less than positive but I just want new night elf RPers to be aware of the current state of things on the server. I have seen so many new people come and go over the past few months, or just give up, mostly due to lack of options here on MG. It’s disheartening and it hurts the whole server in the long run. The one to two night elf guilds who were actively “recruiting” the past few months were often non responsive or requiring IC interviews and rejecting people. The night elf community desperately needs new people to step up and try to pull it together.
It just wasn’t for me. I wanted to do DH things and it is hard to do in a nature loving guild. Most of the RP I got was IC arguments and distrust. It grew tiresome. What I do and how I choose to do it isn’t really anyone’s business. As for Starlight, they’re good people and of course I chucked an alt in there, they’re my friends. Once again, no one’s business or concern.
I know. I still have friends in all these nelf guilds. I’ve been on a RP hiatus anyway. I haven’t flagged IC in 2 months almost. Doesn’t mean I can’t hangout with my friends OOC and direct people to these guilds. Each one has great RPers and people in them. I am glad to see so many active nelf guilds.
Trust me, I wanna RP my Kaldorei Warlock (don’t ask) or my Kaldorei Priest but I’ve found another muse. More entertaining and more RP. snickers. I do wish you luck Darling.
Yikes this is not the time or place to start drama and dog on people. Mieris, whomever you are (I have a suspicion, but that’s neither here no there), the OP asked for places to go. Not to hear about your false perceptions and negative attitude. What you think is a dead guild is subjective to you. More than one person logging on is not dead, but one would say inactive or having some down time.
I fully expect, if you are who i think you are, you to still be negative and post opinions and not facts. But the OP didn’t come here for that. They came for places to go. And calling out guilds and nagging them is quite the opposite of what was asked.
Hell I’ve turned down and declined many people over the last few weeks. If i hadnt, you’d see a lot of people from my guild pop up. Sorry I’m picky and want what’s best for my guild and those characters. If it makes my guild look dead, so be it.
I know mine seems dead, but I am trying to acquire a new computer in order to play more regularly. Once that’s all sorted out, I should be able to put more focus on trying to drum up ideas and events for the night elf community as a whole with the project group. I don’t mean to seem selective but after having some bad apples in my past guild experiences, I’d rather be careful with who gets into my guild than invite people willy nilly.
