Actually it doesn’t. Biblical it’s with the first breath. Not before that.
Also the Bible isn’t anti abortion at all.
It’s not exactly pro life either, with all the murdering god and his chosen people did. Nor is it exactly pro women either
I personally like heretical Catholicism because it’s based on the original teachings of jesus where he had 7 female disciples and 12 male diciples, and he wanted Mary to carry on the Church not Peter/Paul. It’s wierd to me that Jesus’s own gospel was rejected from the Bible and it’s because he valued the power of women in spirituality and hated the idea of an institutionalized church, his gospel was very pro-women which a council of all men rejected 300 years later after his death.
Ironically, Jesus would have hated modern Christianity and he would have been labeled a heretic by the church.
There’s a good resource site called sacredtexts. org where you can actually read the Nag Hammadi aka The Dead Sea Scrolls, and the original gospels including the Gospel of Jesus and Gospel of Mary.
Getting to read the Nag-Hammadi scrolls in person was one of the best experiences of my life.
Jesus, if he were alive today, would be labeled a liberal and woke by the people who claim to follow his teachings. It’s all sad really
The argument regarding when life begins is more of a legal and moral argument, rather than a religious one.
But yeah, Christ was sickeningly pacifist, and like many other pacifists throughout history, it was primarily a façade to garner control. A social rebellion against the Romans, most likely, similar to what Ghandi did when rebelling against the British.
But behind closed doors, neither of them actually practiced what they taught. Christ literally whipped people with chords when he discovered they were selling merchandise in his church. Ghandi was also absolutely horrible to his wife, and had low opinions of women in general.
What?
He flipped tables and kicked people out. He didn’t whip people. This gospel was called The Cleansing of the Temple.
There is a painting of Jesus whipping the merchants by italian painter Scarsellino from 1550 maybe you confused the two?
“And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple”
Scourge - a whip used as an instrument of punishment.
Are you so contrary that you are anti-Jesus now? I don’t get you. At all.
I’m not going to defend the Bible, I just think you’ll argue with anyone over anything.
I am anti all the Abrahamic religions. Christianity happens to be the one that overran Europe and commit cultural genocide against European people, so I have a little bit more reason to dislike it.
Welcome to the club.
Welcome to the club? Europe got ravaged first.
Disgusting you would make something like that a contest. But I shouldn’t be surprised, you opened this conversation with hostility.
I just meant it, as we both dislike Abrahamic religions.
Your reaction was way off base there.
Lol, you left your gaslight on.
The way you initially responded to me provides all the context I need to know you are full of it.
Take a chill pill Aki.
Can’t we all agree that our cultures got ravaged by the middle eastern religions? I mean half of Christianity is based off my Irish pagan roots
I also have Irish roots.
Really? Where’s your family from?
Tyholland, in the Monahagn area.
That’s neat. I have family from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Not sure what town exactly they came from though
Both my grandfathers were really into geneology and I took it over once they past since I’m the historian. On one side of my family I can trace our line all the way back to the 1400’s i’m hoping to go further someday.
