you can’t even get off the ground without hitting any buttons
But i can’t hover. I cannot pinpoint land on the tip of a mountain/column of rock in Waking shores for ore, etc. Miss it by 2 pixels when the target is the same size as your mount? To bad, so sad. And there are A LOT of ore deposits on those tiny raised areas. at least one has barely any landing room other than the ore deposit itself or you slide off the edge. With old flight, i can stop and re-aim myself. With DR, you can’t do that.
Mount → Hit Spacebar once (and only once) → Autorun → Arrive.
Works 100% of the time unless you fly into hostile territory.
Fly the same altitude as a TBC Mount and leave the keyboard, and see how far your dragonflight can go versus a TBC Flight mount.
you can go three times as fast and it appears fly through trees without getting stuck
And yes, collecting ore is harder for me right now but I just started. I am sure one month in it will be second nature as the normal flying is.
it will go right across the entire zone if you do it correctly - there isn’t as much maintenance as you think there is.
anyway, this is a pointless conversation. I am sorry you find dragonflying so challenging but you will get better.
It’ll never be second nature to me. I’d rather be slow and precise than fast and imprecise. Give me both. Let me chose. But chances are, unless I am chasing a rare, I’ll never use dragonriding again.
Isn’t as much maintenance =/= 0 maintenance.
And that’s the point. Right now, people are entranced by the shiny. Once it wears thin, people will just want to get where they’re getting with no fuss.
some people will always use dragonflying - it is their nature to want to go from point A to point B asap. 310 vs 820 (or w/e) is a huge difference.
We need both. Dragonriding is incredible for traveling in a straight line, but it’s an enormous pain for doing anything very short distance or that requires precision.
I’ve never claimed otherwise. However, many people are willing to forsake speed for functionally automatic travel. Myself included.
I figured they would eventually. I just really wanted it sooner rather than later. I agree with people that both should be available. My son LOVES dragonriding, but I’m taking all kinds of drugs for my headaches with dragonriding. I think both would be great.
I agree! It wouldn’t hurt anyone to enable it! And the bot problem should they tackle with other solutions then removing regular flying (perhaps bans)!
I agree with most of what you are saying. I feel the same way about dragonriding. I think there are a lot of people who have struggled with the ‘no flying at all’ when a new expansion comes out and this was a supposed ‘middle ground’. I know a lot of people who think it is SUPER AWESOME!! I just don’t and I hope they take us into account as well.
Wbat type of person plays a video game and not use all the tools in said video game to make life easier?
Do you understand how games work?
So you think it would be great for players to use one mount for point a to b, and the other mount to fly around once you arrive to the area?
Do you understand how old that is going to get?
Old flying is so boring. How are people arguing for a version of the game with LESS gameplay?
Because people are lazy and want to gather easier with the old system and or bot.
Because not everything in a game needs to be a minigame basically. I want to play WoW. Not Blizzard Flight Simulator. I WANT to go at 310 speed, as 800% started to give me headaches. I want to hover. I want to point and click to move. What YOU find fun, doesn’t mean everyone does. Just give us gorram options to fly the old way.
But what you want is overpower in movement, and it would pretty much make us use two mount systems, because I am not going to make myself weaker in the air if they add legacy.
So pretty much players would be switching mounts all the time, and it would get old quick.
At some point, moving on and figuring out ways to adapt is the better option for the game for the rest of us.
And what you want is literally migraine inducing for a number of us. Personally, i wish they’d never even come up with the dragonriding IDEA because all i get is cursed at for not being its biggest fan. Hover/pinpoint is not overpower, its literally what we’ve had since BC. Taking it away is more of a nerf than anything.
