Well if immortal flying comes to the game it won’t be until the 3rd major content patch. So 2/3 the way through the expansion.
And I best it’s attached to renown.

Why would they? They generally free up the game in the 3rd major patch.
My prediction in 10.2 at the latest just like with Pathfinder also we don’t know if there will even be 10.3.
I want regular flying, I am not spending time trying to aim for a herb on top of a sharp rock in high speed!!!

I really enjoy dragon riding but i also enjoy the reg flight. I see the benefits of both systems and see no reason why both cannot be implemented right now.
BUT Blizz knows best and they want us to play the games new mechanics “cuz, trust us”. Blizz will never listen and never change. They will continue to double down on systems they created because they think they know best. They have the infallible god complex that all they create is golden.
Do not worry though, a year from now we will get an apology video or chat saying that they have learned from the mistakes of the flaws of this xpac.

I’m what this community would likely deem as old, and I am heavily in favor of Dragonriding over the old system

How is it forcing you to do anything? If you don’t want to use the old mount you simply don’t use it.

Dragonriding is far greater than normal flying. I would never use normal flying again if I had a choice. Every time I die and am forced to fly back to my body on that slow unmaneuverable pos ghost dragon I feel like chewing my own arm off. Sad that some can’t figure it out, but if they really want super slow flying let them have it and they can watch the rest of us whizz by them and kill the rare before they get there.
Yeah, a push to buy. They still aren’t buying it though. They want to, but the law won’t allow them and Sony sueing them is another reason.
I am old and I want the old flying back.
Don’t want to use old school flying mounts? Then don’t it’s a choice.
Stop trying to remove aspects of the game others want and have zero affect on you.

Where in this post did I say that I want them to gut the old system and replace it with dragonriding? Debatably when the old system gets implemented via pathfinding in 10.2 or 10.3 as per normally anticipated, it will have an effect on me and others, because the automated birds will be back at it again, right now it’s a heavy slowdown on botters with the vigor system… not perfect, but it’s a choke point at least.
I am in favor of the old mounts returning, and would prefer it to use the new system. Prefer. Again, for clarity, nowhere in this post am I saying to replace the old system entirely. Why is it that someone stating they enjoy Dragonriding immediately triggers you into them automatically stating that your likes are wrong?
Statements like the following. Don’t like the old system? Don’t use it.

This entire thread is about bring back regular flying in Dragonflight Yes or No. You’re stating you’re heavily in favor of Dragonflying over the old system.

Regular flying -is- being “brought back” in Dragonflight. In a later patch. As Blizzard has stated. As it has been in previous expansions via something like Pathfinder. I’m surely not the only person who has stated positivity toward Dragonriding, on this thread or otherwise, and there are people who have called for the full removal of flight for the last decade. Instead you select one person to target your hostility toward and twist the narrative to validate your anger because they stated a different opinion. Scrolling briefly through the 375 posts there are at least a half dozen others who have voiced favor toward Dragonriding in one sense or another, but I’m the problem because how dare I comment in a public space about my opinion, how others have done the same.
Feel free to keep singling me out, everyone needs a punching bag I guess. Hope you feel better soon

The original post was about requesting old flying to be added sooner, and OP is content with waiting til Pathfinder before returning to Dragonflight if needed. Due to OP’s personal limitations, it was a request, which has progressed into over 300 posts of mixed replies, some of which asking/beging/demanding old flying to be added “now”, others begging for it to be gone for good… and a light sprinkling of those condemning flight altogether and how it’s “ruined the game” bouncing from objective to objective with little to no care for the world in between.
Stating my opinion of what I enjoy does not take away from OP’s post, as I was responding playfully to another player regarding age.
I had a little brother who would have loved WoW, but he was disabled, had an issue with mobility, and I know it would be unlikely that he could have used Dragonriding.
I still have my opinion. There’s also that ride-along feature which I would have used for my little brother to assist where he wouldn’t have been able to succeed.
I’m not immune to the difficulties that others legitimately have with the new system. You targetted me as the most recent “anti reg flying post” when all I said was that I am “in favor” of one thing over another. If someone says they prefer pizza over a burger, it doesn’t mean they hate burgers. As someone who has been with this game since 2004, there have always been systems that players haven’t responded well to, have given criticism toward, and in some cases players have quit over. You can’t please everyone all the time.
I sympathize with OP regarding their issue, and with any other legitimate claim of inability to control dragonriding. There are options, such as the ride-along feature, but I don’t know OPs situation nor do I claim to have all the answers. I have and will continue to offer those around me a lift if they aren’t feeling much like dragonriding, or if someone needs a boost (general chat or otherwise), but this thread has not been about adding back regular flying, yes or no… and if it was, my opinion is no less valid than yours, which sets you again to attacking simply on the basis of a different opinion as it triggered you to respond purely because I dared to voice a different one. This post was, by OP’s own words, a Ted Talk, hoping that pathfinding will come out sooner, but being content to hang out and wait otherwise.
I kind of feel like blizz is gonna gate normal flying for way to long so I unsubbed til it is wow ain’t important enough in 2023 to be playing with flying I hate.
I done did pathfinder pretty much I ground mounted all the way thru so where’s the flying I love blizz?
