How much “realism” is a fantasy game supposed to have exactly? How realistic are the Dragons btw?

Again, within that huge block of text, you forgot to add:
- Add a new speed rank: 830% Flying
Otherwise you will be stuck at a crawl on these gigantic maps, and will be forced to use Dragonriding because it takes you almost 3 times as long to get from one zone to the next… The difference is even more dramatic than Rank 1 150% Flying and Rank 2 310% Flying…
There is no chance this isn’t the minority. You would be delusional to think otherwise.
Blizzard have already said they are considering bringing back regular flying at a later point, and likely will do so. There’s no need to make forum posts on things they’ve already addressed. As for bots and druids gathering herbs, you can now gather herbs and mine on your dragon (if you spec into it), so there’s no difference between that and a Druid (except dragon riding is substantially faster).

Remove old flight once all mounts are rigged to be able to utilize the new flight system, then make dragonriding available in all zones. Old flight is garbage compared to Dragonriding. The game is meant to be played and be rewarding, not be a “point mount in a direction and come back in ten minutes”. Literally no one can argue that’s an engaging game mechanic.

I assume for the pro-only dragon riding we will be able to use it for all our old flying mounts? People spent so much time and gold collecting all these mounts that, if not adapted, just became useless. Also…I never really enjoyed the old dragon mounts just based on size and noise, and now the argument from staunch anti-old flight system is, “you’re wrong how you play this game, you must enjoy what I enjoy”.
I’m super cool with Dragon Flying, and as grating as it would be to unlock old flying, I’d be fine with that too. But its kind of crappy to just tell people they’re playing the game wrong if they don’t accept the new system. I think new systems in WoW have a…tumultuous history at best. Saying its new so its good sure flies in the face of people’s responses to Covenants, Azerite, ect.
Totally agree with you Kimbo. I’m a long time player too. I haven’t even figured out how to even get started with Dragonriding. Pathetic I know, maybe I’m just too old to play video games anymore.

Druid bots are already back, so your argument is moot.
I would like to know what does it matter if people have more control when flying than you might with your DR? I ask because from my perspective, it doesn’t matter. It isn’t a competition game, so it isn’t like I’m going to get to the finish line before you.
And, if you actually think about it, those with DR have an advantage because they have speed on their side. So you can get to that rare faster than me. You can get to that mining node (even though I could still farm it if you do) faster than me.
Your argument is strange and I wonder where it stems from. What exactly are you afraid I might do and what mysterious advantage I might have if I have regular riding.

After mine saw me flying and how it affected me she just flat out refused to buy dragon flight. Not much fun playing without her, so i don’t see me staying around much longer. It’s a shame, really, there is such a easy fix to the problem, and It’s already in game.

I’d love both systems in game. I do like the joy of the dragonriding races and have enjoyed getting from point a to b faster - for long distances, however sometimes I just want to go up slightly or need to do something that requires more finite control. With dragonriding you end up overshooting desired landing spots and end up flying around in circles just trying to get to where you’re trying to go. This ends up depleting your vigor and ends up taking longer overall. This tends to make it a lot more frustrating. So all in all…I’d love both systems. Dragonriding when I want to go fast or do some racing and good old reliable flying and hovering in place, etc. =)

Having the same issues with dragonriding. Can’t get the hang of it so I can’t really play this expansion. Hate to abandon the game for now but it is increasingly likely until they put regular flying back in. Hope they take account of how long some of us have paid them money and make the game playable for all.

Only if they make it like warmode, where you toggle flying, which disables the ability to gather. Dragonflying has been the best thing ever to combat bots, gathering remains valuable even this late into the expansion, because it’s crippling bots.
I am legit not playing DF strictly because I dont enjoy dragonflying. I have been constantly berated because I dont like the thing that they like.
Ill return once I don’t have to deal with it on a mandatory level.
I think dragonriding is an AMAZING addition to the game; however, it should NOT be mandatory to use.

Still don’t understand why for some people it’s black and white, either this or that. Why can’t we have both, it doesn’t hurt anyone. Yet I still see so many pro-Dragonriding players wanting legacy flying removed. You know what, let’s do that and see what happens to sub numbers, I predict another WoD flying fiasco, and Blizz walks it back.

I agree with you about the physical impact that dragon flying has on some people - I’m one of them. I personally don’t get migraines but DF gives me very bad headaches, anxiety, and the occasional panic attack. I’m very disappointed in Blizzard for putting this is the game as a mandatory part of this expansion. It’s a despicable thing for them to put this in knowing full well that some players are physically harmed by this activity. I’ve played pretty much every day for 17 years and for the first time I don’t even want to log in and participate.
In my opinion, they can’t add regular flying to DF expansion fast enough.

I’m going the other direction. I like Dragonflying and think it needs to be available in the old world and old mounts should be adapted to use it. I find old world flying blah, kinda awkward, and a bit boring. I love the dynamic of Dragonflying.
One thing I have noticed is there are two types of pro dragon riding the first are those who know we can have both and it doesn’t affect them as they will use dragon riding no matter what and options are good for the game to survive.
Second group are those who rather watch the game die because they are selfish and only want to take things away from others for their own selfishness. Not only that but these are the same people who belittle, insult even go so far as to call anyone who rather use regular flying for whatever reason a bot.
What I have seen reading these threads is there are it seems more who want both to remain in the game so everyone has a chance to enjoy the game. While the selfish ones demand regular flight be removed while lying that regular flight players want dragon riding removed.
So many regular flight players are of the opinion that having both is good for the game and nowhere have I seen anyone asking to remove dragon riding just the selfish cultists wanting regular flight removed.
