As a new user and a bit of a loner, I’m finding the learning curve steep. I’m enjoying knocking around, leveling up and learning this and that as I go, but I would love to find a comprehensive guide to the mechanics of the game. It needn’t be specific to any race or class, but an in depth overview. I know there is more information at my fingertips than I could ever hope to absorb, but it’s piecemeal and often assumes the reader (or watcher) has knowledge that they may not have. Thanks.

Search for World of Warcraft online manual. The original 114 page book that came out with 2004 Vanilla in a 2MB PDF download.

The best way is by joining a friendly guild that will share everything with you, that’s how I learned the ropes… leveled to 40 until I found one that worked and I made friends for life in there.

I’m having trouble imagining what you mean by “mechanics” that wouldn’t be specific to a class.
Can you give some actual examples?
