And hopefully not derail threads. I don’t really have any trash talk to give, but for the sake of Internet bravado you have to when it’s warranted. I’m consistently getting Top 5 Damage in BGs being fully pure and without any Vers, so I got a lot of trash talk for those who praised that stat universally. But for WPvP nobody really respects Hunters so I’m prepared to defend myself for the sake of the class as well.

I send him a message with the required “mind flay” and rbg rank to join his party…I guess I wasn’t good enough for him.
So I join a random rbg group and went up against his group…we had a field day smashing them…

Many times I’ll 1vX using my WPvP tricks on hunter and then log over on my horde monk to say something along the lines of “that was fun, good fight” with a playful jab sometimes too.
A surprising amount of people respond accusing me of hacking - actually editing the game’s code - instead of opening their mind to the possibility that there are tricks that can allow someone to survive a dogpile of mediocre-bad PvPers. The game is pruned enough at this point that if you aren’t a select few meta classes, you could be a 20-time rank 1 arena player, the best in the world, and you would struggle immensely or lose a 1v2/3 to 1400 players without external help. So in comes war scrolls and legacy leech.
Had one of these conversations with a horde rogue who thought I was cheating, then tried to report my horde’s name, then took some shots at my arena play. I then linked my Elite achieves and of course, the classic, he accused me of buying boosts. Seems projected there haha

One of the best things that can happen is you get net gunned or shot down by some mouthbreather who either thought he had buddies or that you might be easy because he has 50k+ more health.
The moment they realize that, oh no, oh gosh I am going to lose this 1v1. This will even sometimes occur after a barrage of emote spams (especially from rogues and DH for some reason) /lol or whatever.
That moment when they fail morale and try to run is priceless 
And in most cases if you ever decide to to a “hockey player style” interview after the fact they get really triggered. “So you shot down that monk and outgeared him, but he outplayed you and lost. What happened where did it all go wrong? What can you do better next time?”
That usually inspires a shot at your arena rating (even if you don’t play arena) or that you should stop being mad.
Good gosh, I am not mad I am having fun. LOL. It’s hilarious what people say that defies common sense when they want it to be that way.

Just some tips. Be very careful on how you to respond to someone as if you read the terms of service; they are extremely vague and that’s so just about anything can be identified with something. (Generally harassment, trolling) That is done so that the CS / interaction with anyone who would dispute can be generally written off / disregarded without much thought, effort, employee time, etc. It’s actually quite horrible but that’s the reality and let’s face it they can get away with it being the biggest game in town.
It’s unfortunate as it impedes one’s ability to have natural bantering to a certain extent but it’s a reality now that ignores your tenure playing WC, everything so just be careful as one post that perhaps should have been flagged won’t be while another one that had something trivial will be.

It really takes playing a smarter game. I’ve beaten several raps myself. I’m not stupid to say specific somethings that would get me banned longterm. Short-term? It has happened. Long-term? Good luck with my 14 years of knowing “the law” vs. how many years they got. Because the dirty little secret is that when people get reported, they’re not getting reported because the reporter is acting in honest self-defense(it’s made to look that way). They’re doing it to get the offender banned. It’s a con game. Anyone who has a grievance over x-y-z thing is someone who should be taken out of existence.
And there might yet be those who wonder why the community is dying, when it’s everyone’s first recourse to go straight to Blizzard instead of coming to some agreement or accord.
That’s one of the best things in WPvP and PvP in general: humbling those who think they’re better than you. It’s really like wiping your butt with silk.
Ratings means nothing in WPvP, and that’s the beauty of it. I have ganked a few Elites myself in the cities. Smurfing is also a real concept in online gaming. You’d never know it was an Elite or Glad that handed to your butt to you when you can’t even prove if he ever was.
That’s why I don’t bother doing Arena to quantify my PvP ability. That was a bad accusation, but it’s quite true that for the right price and right seller, I can buy my way to 2400. I’m good with goldfarming too, so I guess this means I’m just as good at PvP as any other Elite. What’s the difference discerned?
And also, given MM, if I were to legitimately get 2400, then the refrain would be, “Well, you got carried there by certain OP comps.”
So screw ratings, honestly. To be truly gud in WPvP is almost like arcade FPS’s: your HK/D ratio. Anything below a 1.0 I wouldn’t consider ‘gud’.
I want to say before Legion I got as high as 2.4(solo or duo). That means I know how to a) rack kills and b) not die. I may have to look at my stats later to see what it looks like now.

Great post, and you nailed the whole reporting thing perfectly.
The rules are vague and people do indeed use it offensively to flag and induce sanctions versus really being “offended”; but in Blizzard’s eyes that is irrelevant since you “did what you did”.
Don’t even bother trying to send in tickets unless it’s like you didn’t even post or something. The CS forum is also not an option for help and full of trust level heroes who are simply chomping a the bit to jump all over someone already upset so they can flag their emotional/angry post and get em more “love”…
My entire concept of customer loyalty evaporated fairly quickly based on how things are getting handled especially when dealing with someone who had a perfect track record for many years…

I never reported anyone like that. Mainly because a) I can handle it and b) it makes no difference in my gameplay or life whether they get to still play or not. The only honest means there is to report someone is if things can’t be handled alone or if there was something criminally disruptive. Back in the day, it wasn’t quite nearly as antipathetic as it is now.
I am so bad at looking at my chat window that I miss 99 percent of all whispers … friend or foe

WoW is still an online game. Even Diablo 2 had chat you needed to be able to read, especially when you’re making those gucci trades.
