Yes it should be. All you commies saying well at least your fellow guildies got gear lmao like why would we gaf about that? Most people tolerate their guild long enough to get the gear they want then bounce. Ive liked guilds ive disliked guilds but if its my time slot and loot system i show up and pump im not excited for someone elses dopamine

Buddy, I already said anyone who cares about gear will rank. You do not have a choice unless you’re the token druid or whatever. That doesn’t change the fact that with raid tiers being half the timeframe it’s going to be even worse than normal.
With 6 month raid tiers I saw 0 chromatic boots in 2019. I got OSG during AQ40. I’m well aware what loot is like in vanilla thanks. Again, in an accelerated format there should be adjustments.

The vast majority of the gear is bought from a vendor. I’ve got 2/4 of the pieces that matter this phase so I’m happy
This is really stupid. Any time anyone has any complaint, suggestion, or opinion someone doesn’t like there’s always someone who replies either this or “this game isn’t for you”. If every person who had this suggested to them took it, there would be only a handful of players left. Then you’d have no one to even raid with.
No, it’s not stupid. If the game doesn’t make you happy, play another. If you’re not having fun unless you’re being rewarded or unless the game functions exactly to your desire then this isn’t the game for you. It really is that simple. The idea that every little whine and complaint should be addressed is what is stupid.

When you get the gear, and you get your dopamine, clearly you enjoy it, but for some reason you don’t care at all about helping your teammates get the same gratification?
That’s fine, but when you’re in a team of 40 it’s just an idiotic stance to take, did you play the original Vanilla WoW when it came out, or just join up for the Classic re-releases?
Just curious, because it seems to be an entire mentality issue that you simply won’t enjoy raiding unless you personally benefit immediately.
Is it enough for you to know that next time it could be you? Or does it have to be you benefitting EVERY time in order for it to be fun for you?
This isn’t an issue with the game, it’s an issue of mentality that would apply to any team based game.

This isn’t stupid. This is what gets things changed or working better. YOU not liking what someone says doesn’t mean they should go play another game. THAT’S stupid. I don’t like having to poop because I eat. But, it’s something I would like changed. You can enjoy a game, but not like parts of it. Perhaps you should take your own advice, and leave the boards; since you’re complaining about other people complaining. Clearly you don’t like others complaining, so posting here isn’t for you.

Lol ive been playing 20 years straight, pservers when retail got worse later on.
My mentality is that of MOST pvp players btw. We’ll raid for specific items, we dont enjoy pve. Its not why we play the game.
If my gear doesnt drop its whatever but not happy lol. If someone elses gear drops i dont care in the slightest unless its a friend of mine i pvp with lol. As long as im allowed to roll on the gear i want for pvp im fine to tolerate raiding. This applies to vanilla, tbc, wotlk, cata you name it.
This whole like lets hold hands with 40 people and genuinely care about their outcome is so fake from my pov. My tank gets gear, cool raid is gonna go better, i can appreciate stuff like that, but if Bob one of the 8 other rogues wins an item I could not care. If its an item i need & he wins it? Im not happy then either lol
The entire pov for pvp focused players is to raid until you get the few items youre looking for then dip out till next phase. New guild if you have to. Im not rerunning stuff after im done with the phase.
For example rogue wants 5set T1, perd+cht, maybe a ring or gun cuz those are near free. Even if BWL is out i would, and have, trade all prio on T2 for the sake of finishing the T1 items i need.
Who gets what outside of that has no meaning to me, everyone is gearing idc who it goes to. Mage item dropped? Too bad it wasnt my item so i can stop raiding sooner.
Not all pvpers, but a lot of pure pvpers have this mindset when they raid & want to get it over with asap so they can just pvp rest of the phase. Its a chore to us. Not an adventure or a communist utopia where I slave away for the guild. Im going there for my loot, if it doesn’t drop im not happy, but ill keep showing up and pumping till it does. Then im done.
Of course i cant benefit every time. Im not raging over it lol. For example 2019 classic my guild had 9 rogues haha we all wore blue shoulders because T1 boob shoulders didn’t drop the entire phase. I needed that t1 slot to synergies with the pvp 3set so under a DKP system i talked to all the rogues and skipped on all t2 any of them needed till the t1 shoulders dropped. I won them and because it was my last item i dipped. Time to pvp bye bye raiding chore.
We just play the game for entirely different reasons
Ps. Also “team” game you gave an example of like oh i died but my partner clutched and won us the game. Yes, i also won i am happy we won together lol.
That is different than 40 dorks beating up NPCs. Of course we win, if we didnt wtf is going on. Im not happy we beat rag for the 30th time. Id be happy in that scenario above because its vs actual people and the outcome isnt assumed and we had to outplay someone together. Pve does not give that dopamine.
The team winning in a raid example is literally just you not getting loot or progressing your character for another week. Whoo? I tolerate it, i dont enjoy it. I wouldnt call wow pve a team game in the way you described. That only applies to pvp imo. You’re on a team, sure, but you have no opponent. You have a loot piñata. If my name isnt on a piece of candy that pops out im not stoked about some other dude eating his snickers lmao

Hey so the whole reason about vanilla raiding is going back and doing every raid each week. It’s about playing and experiencing the raids with friends. I do each raid on sod every week (with my guild)
