This is exciting news! Welcome back Chris!

Your characters and stories have life changing for me as a writer, a person and a gamer. Iā€™ve long been a fan of yours and am glad that the ā€œTolkienā€ of Warcraft is returning!

The future of the lore is in good hands.

Examples??

Well by Thralls Christmas Jewels, welcome back Chris, we have missed you.

I donā€™t think we should be condemning someone for simply existing during a specific time period.

Retiring Thrall, mostly. And the lack of a cohesive vision for Garrosh.

It got boardā€¦

I donā€™t know how much of that I believe. Maybe itā€™s true, maybe it is exaggerated. I donā€™t blame people like Chris for what others do. The upper end of the business world is a very seedy and dark place and avoiding morally disgusting people would be all but impossible.

I was the equivalent of a director in a much smaller company of under 500 people and I kept to myself as much as possible but even still I knew of the big scandals and suchā€¦not only from the water cooler/grapevine but because of meetings where those topics came up and from internal emails and such that cascaded from it. Even if specific names werenā€™t spelled out, you could put 2 and 2 together. Oh so and so is taking a sudden leave of absence and someone else has been immediately terminated for cause and now we need to all have a refresher lesson on what is SA and how do we stop it, report it, and how are our policies changing? Well gee golly gumdrops, I bet all of this is completely unrelated.

Plus as socially dumb as I am, and I feel I truly am, even I got skeevy feelings from certain individuals and listening to them talk/interact with people who later got confirmed as being creepy/crossing lines. Like everyone can read body language to some capacity.

METZEN!!!

(yes blizz that is what i meant to say, wth error messageā€¦)

I dunno if heā€™d get on stage at Blizzcon since he said it made him feel real anxious but itā€™d be amazing if he did decide to step out for the return of it. Hasnā€™t been the same without out him.

Agreed. We donā€™t demonize government workers that were around during the 1940s when Japanese citizens were placed into internment camps. Most had nothing to do with it, and couldnā€™t do anything about it. But itā€™s that group-think that condemns a group of people for the actions of a few. Same with more recent historical acts. We have to get out of that mindset and blame the ones responsible.

Metzen wasnā€™t dudeā€™s boss. The higher ups like Bobby knew about the appalling things going on and refused to terminate the problems. Blame the perpetrators and the ones that could have actually done something.

Cool to see him back. He said the leadership stuff was giving him health issues so this should help since I feel like he wanted to stay in the world he created.

But like you sayā€¦ even if it wasnā€™t on paper, that kind of stuff was much more accepted by society in general. Frowned upon in polite company, but accepted nevertheless. To condemn someone going along with the status quo twenty years in the past is absolutely asinine.

I think I literally said I donā€™t condemn him. So long as he didnā€™t do any SA himself or directly cover for those who did and/or actively sweep things under the rug, heā€™s fine in my book.

I question whether he truly had no clue any of that was going on and/or is totally clueless about Alex and the sort.
