A Message From Big Hearts On Grobbulus

Greetings.

Seems like Blizzard really kicked the hornet’s nest this week. But let’s be honest we shouldn’t be surprised based on their track record, they love gaslighting us.

Anyways, let’s get down to the brass tacks.

“Who is Darkore dude?”
I’m the raid leader of the 25m team in Big Hearts on Grobbulus. As of 9/17/2025, we are the only 25m guild to have cleared 16/16H on the server (Not Ideal). The team within Big Hearts has existed since the migration from Fairbanks (Point being we’ve been here a while).

We’ve slowly watched the unraveling of what the PvE scene on Grobbulus has become and we want to be fully transparent about what has happened and what players should expect if they are considering moving here.

Grobbulus PvE Recent History, What Happened?
The early days of Cataclysm Classic is when the server started to take it’s downturn. Aside from Cata not being well liked universally (played a small factor), one of the biggest issues Grobbulus faced was during the midst of T11, a handful of 25m guilds couldn’t get past 5/13H-9/13H and inevitably collapsed. We are talking guilds that fully cleared all raids on Heroic in Wrath and got hard stuck at walls in T11.

Yes, I know that was a long time ago, but if you look at each raid tier after T11 on Grobb, you will see the drop off in total guilds in Firelands & Dragon Soul for 25m was significant. Every server is bound to experience this, but the one server that needed to avoid this arguably the most was ours as this was when the 25m raiding scene started to shrink.

After Firelands, the 25m guild Nevermind left for Pagle, SWEAT also called it as well.

At the end of Dragon Soul, the 25m guild Kintsugi left for Faerlina. (They are still raiding to this day)

When MoP launched, the guild Freak left for Faerlina, as well as Non-Verbal Raiding to Faerlina (Top 10 World 10m Team), and Extra Ordinary to Pagle. (This was 100% necessary for these guilds to do based on what was left of Grobbulus at the end of Cataclysm)

Freak’s GDKPs runs on Grobbulus for all of Cataclysm was the last central hub where raiders would be able to find the heavy schedule of GDKPs throughout the week. Their absence on Grobbulus has without question been the most impactful loss (horde wise) in the past year. As of today, there are only two 25m GDKP raids that exist here (Horde Wise). They are run by the guilds On Second Thought & A Proper GDKP.

2 weeks ago, the 25m guild New Management left. (They are now called unmedicated on Faerlina). They were one of the last remaining competitive guilds on Grobbulus and had no choice but to pull the plug for recruitment purposes.

I know, everything stated above is not good, and unfortunately for the last of us remaining it doesn’t seem like Blizzard is letting us leave the server for free like everyone else aside from Pagle.

World PvP:
It is very much a thing here, don’t let others tell you it’s not real. We’ve been informed from the GMs of the PvP guilds that they’re expecting a nice surplus of players transferring to Grobb.

Target Audience For Grobb (PvE Wise):
If you are someone who wants to do World PvP but are unsure if you can find a heroic raiding guild, there are 17 25m guilds left on Grobbulus at least attempting heroic (Check Grobbulus on Classic WarcraftLogs, this is excluding New Management & 100p GDKP btw).

Big Hearts Is Staying:
Big Hearts isn’t going anywhere, our leadership and depth charts are built to sustain for the long run.

Side Notes About Grobbulus:
Other things like Auction House prices are slightly scuffed from time to time.
Best days to find World Bosses groups are on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. (This fluctuates, it’s not always so bad other days but it depends)
You will not find very many random PUG raids. (This is something Grobbulus could desperately use more of is people that put groups together. The players are there to do the pug/alt raids, but the people to lead them are what we need.)
There are a lot of stupid but funny moments you’ll see including some…interesting players that roam around. (You kinda have to see it for yourself lol)
The pvp drama is endless and entertaining as hell, never a dull moment in that department.
LFG chat is not always super active but it does have its community moments day to day. (Well at least until it becomes a warzone between the pvp spies going at each other)
I should mention that if you are a 10m guild, there’s a pretty solid chance you and your group can last here in the long run, just my opinion obv.

Recap:
I will repeat what I stated at the beginning, we just want to provide full transparency of what the scene is like on Grobbulus now if it is something you are considering. If you decide to come to Grobbulus by all means that’s awesome and we think you’ll have a blast, but we’re not gonna throw a fit if/probably when see everyone look the other way and go to Pagle because it’s most sound option.

Thank you for reading and good luck to everyone out there on their migrations.

Well, there will never not be two servers:

  • Pagle (PvE) - and its flavored “virtual” servers
  • Grobbulus (PvP)

And, other than Grobbulus, all other servers will become Normal, so anyone who wants to be on a PvP server will have no other choice.

:woman_shrugging:

It’s even worse on Alliance side. Non-verbal Raiding went to Faerlina in pre-patch. Extra Ordinary went to Pagle. SWEAT stopped raiding except for one 10m and that ended last week. Our last GDKP ended in Firelands.

Thank you, I will include them in the post.

Yeah damn Fairbanks died early TBC if I remember correctly(was also the server I played on first)

Well said Dark. A lot of the remaining raiders on Grobb miss raiding with many of those that were able to transfer to other servers. We miss raiding on our alts. I can’t speak for everyone but when I saw that there were going to be server mergers and cross realm servers I got excited bc for a split second I thought I’d get to do both of those things again. But it’s frustrating that by the time I finished reading the post, I realized that everyone but Grobb was getting that opportunity. It was a kick in the gut. It’s probably fool’s hope but I really hope Blizz reconsiders either offering the free transfers off Grobb to one of the cross realm servers or connecting Grobb to the cross realm servers

People like Stark are damaging the chances of getting transfers to Grob.

Stop complaining for a few days, alright?

Has Moonguard met its match? LOL :joy:

TBF you see a massive dropoff at the beginning of Cata because most people decided to go play SoD and were utterly uninterested in returning for MoP because it is, frankly, a weak xpac compared to Vanilla/TBC/WOTLK unless you’re really, REALLY into daily quests and rep grinding

Also I can’t remember basically any WPVP happening since like TBC but I’m in a weird time zone so maybe I just missed it all when everyone else was sleeping

Stating facts is not complaining. The players that prioritize wPVP over raiding will transfer to Grobb. The players that prioritize raiding over wPVP will go to the mega servers. That’s just how it is

Unfortunately this is true to this day, As someone who’s been around since phase 3 of TBC leading a guild here for small to mid world PVP, the PVE scene has really fallen off because of the lack of oversight by blizzards health department who essentially failed to address early issues on the server. For example a large majority of players were lost near the Pre-patch of WOLTK due to the queue being almost 2 days long to get into the server, then cataclysm pre-patch was just as big a failure with no oversight to reduce PVP gear cost to give players something to do while blizzard yet again released the expansion and had almost every new feature including guild chat just completely not working at all. Every expansion we see an increase and decrease and one big issue we face in the PVP world right now on grob is the lack of brain cells that exist between players wanting world pvp and blizzard allowing guilds like BIGPVP who have consistently ruined the scene by having 2 fully capped alliance guilds full of randoms purposely griefing the server (Hence the launch of pandaland pre-patch) Where as they say they monitor faction balance but they dont monitor balance issues in pvp. Many of grobs issues come down to no development contact, no oversight, lack of resources and no common sense on changes or interaction with the community on those changes.
