Their bank draft bounced.
Once their union dues clear, they ought to be good.

I dunno, the second they lose their Macaroons, they sure seem to lose faith in whatever it was they’re trying to live for and jump onto a ship. Would be a funny concept for them to be a Paladin, money-based faith that gives them the willpower to be Paladins…
That said, I don’t see any Willpower in Goblins, just drive for greed and profit. Faith? Maybe but that isn’t necessarily because they’re willing to be selfless and are doing it because they believe it is a right thing to do.
Their willpower is how they got off a doomed island. It isn’t fair. It isn’t just willpower to keep going all the way to them blowin themselves up.
They just need to have the willpower to know the light can make money and it can. That is it.
Goblins aren’t a corrupt society. They’re not evil.
sheesh.
If goblins are evil then so are Americans because goblins are directly based off American society in a satirical way.
I mean, their whole existence is a aligory for corperate capitalism (At least from what it appears to be, I can be wrong for all I know) and a lot of the times people even compared Gallywix to Bobby Kotick for so many hilarious reasons.
That’s something that is almost impossible to ignore why Paladins aren’t something Goblins are readily capable of being. They are being nice because it isn’t something they want to do, its purely anywhere mutually benefitial to downright something that might make a profit in the end. Keep in mind, we’re stuck playing as a Goblin from Kazen, a VERY money-driven society, even the character we play is rather MC-like up until we’re out of that starter zone. There’s no chance of that happening unless we are given some weird lore reason that explains a sub-group of Goblins who knows greed is awful.
Don’t get me wrong, I do want to play any class with any race but this is one of the few things, alongside Ren’dorei Paladins, have to overcome with extra logic to why they can even become such.
Moreso a tendency to be so greed-tastic to the point of being self-destructive. Not all goblin NPCs worshiped at the altar of gold though!
We’re just smart with gold.
Corrupt is not necessarily evil…
Light isn’t inherantly a ‘good’ thing. The Light has been used to harm just as much, if not more, as it’s used to heal.
It’s a tool that many, even the Twilight’s Hammer, utilized.
Being able to utilize the powers of the Light requires faith in something. The source doesn’t seem particularly important as many put their faith in very different things but achieved the same result.
So, yeah, goblins can use the Light, and for the right price they may give you a Heal spell.
Thing is, the light has nothing to do with being good or having faith. It literally is just willpower, like the green lanterns. Faith is a good source of willpower but goblins don’t need faith, they know and they know the light is a good weapon and a way to make money. Their willpower will allow them to harness it, which they do. Just not as paladins yet but they could easily do that.
Only the humans and their ilk use the tenants of the church to use it. Everyone else uses the light differently. Prelates through the loa of kings or their own willpower in their belief in the loas. Taurans from the sun. Blood elves absorb it from their sunwell.
Goblins through sheer willpower. Humans and dwarves through faith in the church of light.
Dreanei from light beings. And we already seen the lighforge harness the light into machine, crystals and mechs. Also they infused the light into their own self to the point they just draw on themselves.
Not America as a whole. Corporate America sure but the majority of Americans suffer from said greed. I know personally about that. The same could be said of the world. Everybody puts their hand out to America. Not realizing we’re trillions in debt and printing money.
Sorry but we’re not as great as people think we are and the basic citizen is suffering and it’s getting worse.
Really sorry…did not mean to make it real.
Paladins in most fantasy worlds are labeled as Lawful Good where as Goblins only know Lawful neutral and Lawful Evil. No clue how the Scarlet Crusade has paladins as they’re notoriously evil but Goblins need to work on being truly good to maybe become paladins, or Blizz will pull a reason out of their hind ends for it at some point
Because wow paladins are not the same as DND paladins. Nor is it the same as diablo paladins. In wow and diablo, you don’t need to have faith really
And both in diablo and wow, paladins been corrupt by evil demons to think their “lawful good”, which was pure evil, was actual good hence they were able to wield the light.
It’s more of a matter of opportunity. Kultiran’s could certain become paladins, but there were no paladin orders on the the island. On the other hand, the Zandalari had Paladin orders.
Goblins are beyond such concepts of “good” or “bad”
There is no good or bad goblins. Only rich or poor. Employer and Employee.
The good goblin way!
Priests, Shaman, and even Monks are based around a belief system which, like all belief systems, is open to interpretation. So, Goblins just interpret the belief system a little different than others!
That ends up being a problem. WHERE do they even get the Light to infuse them from? We all know at the end of the day, it was the Naaru that had been providing the faithful, the willful, the selfless, and the believers, their power. Every instance of any race, regardless of the source, has been provided by it and only to those who really need it in their . We’re already coming to conclusions how Night Elves and even Worgen will become Paladins through Elune, who we’re pretty much speculating to be a Naaru of sort (Just from Tear of Elune unlocking Xe’ra). Taurens been getting their source partly from the moon but that’s speculative yet it is of Nature than purely from the Light in particular that then becomes Holy (Which again leads back to possibly Elune or its relation from An’she). The Zandalari are almost always religious but ONLY Rezan was the one who provided many with that ideology to end up as Paladins even when he is gone, might be deriving their power elsewhere which may have meant he had instilled such faith in the Zandalari people.
The point is, Goblins don’t have any sort of reverence or source to drive their power from. If for whatever reason a pile of gold is all they need to believe in, hell if I should question it at this point because it happens to be some chips of some Lightbound deity that touched it.
Well yes and no. All are based on beings and energy sources and goblins know these things are facts so no belief system necessary. They just know these things can make them money so they find ways to harness them.
