So, Goblins can be a priest, shaman, or monk (highly good classes) but not paladin? I’m confused. How does a corrupt society able to be a good class? But not a paladin?
Those classes are moreso to do with magic schools and not good/evil.
Priests can be Shadow, that’s not ‘good’ lol.
Goblin Shaman manipulate the elements through deals made with them.
Monk, alcoholics.
Goblin society is not inherently corrupt.
Shaman, priests, are not inherently “good”.
1 - A Class can’t be good or evil, only people can be good or evil. For instance: The Scarlet Crusade is full of evil Paladins, while Jubeka is a good Warlock.
2 - Goblins aren’t evil either. They just like money.
Paladins require u wielding faith, not being good
We see goblin priests saying how they offer these blessing for gold, so clearly much more wiggle room
Plenty of evil shaman, we fought a fair few
Monks are just dudes kicking people
Did you skip dragonflight? Who do you think the primalists where?
You’re looking for lore reasons. Don’t.
They’re not Paladins, because the devs say they’re not Paladins.
This is one of those situations where you’re a child and your parents tell you “because I said so.”
I get that…so if Paladins can be bad can’t goblins be paladins? Blood elves took the power from the naaru (I forget their name) and even the scarlet crusade (did not start evil) was able to maintain their powers as paladins as evil.
A goblin would have to have ultimate conviction in the Light.
Well, let’s be honest. We are fundamentally all evil. We kill for pleasure and steal their possessions.
Technically the scarlet crusade did start evil
Was based off a lie and patricide
They can be priests…even if they choose a different class other then shadow the light is there. Blood elves as well who became paladins by stealing the powers.
Look man.
I am just letting you know why the Scarlet Crusade is all about. They have total conviction in the Light.
Being a priest does not require that.
Time and investment. While there is no question there is always going to be a “Good” goblin, we have Gazlowe for example but he isn’t necessarily the “Righteous” type, let alone religious to be…selflessly priestly, they’ll want to make money just to heal you. It isn’t in Goblin’s nature to be Paladins unless it involves dealing. Even the Monks we see tend to be questionable, asking for money for “Wisdom advice”
In time, there WILL be a very capable Goblin Paladin but it isn’t the time right now, they’d have to give up their ingrained need for gold and treasure, and anything that would mean profits for themselves just to reach the ideology.
I can’t disagree with you but tbh it feels…off.
Ain’t even wielding faith. Just wielding the light with the guise of faith.
Not yet.
A while ago Blizzard started letting all Races be all Base Classes.
They did that for Warriors, Mages, Priests, Hunters, Monks, Rogues and Warlocks.
Paladins, Shamans and Druids are most likely next.
The issue though is that unlike the other Classes, those 3 Classes require Race Specific resources to be playable.
For every new Paladin Race, they have to create two Chargers.
For every new Shaman Race, they have to create four Totems.
For every new Druid Race, they have to create Cat, Bear, Moonkin, Travel and Flight Forms.
That’s not a simple undertaking, and it’s most likely why we will have to wait a while to see Goblin Paladins.
It would be amazing to see a holy trike
Shamans just need to deal with the elements. Goblins are great at dealing.
The light just needs willpower to use. Goblins are the strongest race with willpower.
They should be paladins. The fact they’re not is just blizzard being blizzard.
Paladins just need willpower, not faith. Faith helps because it helps willpower.
