When i refer to new i only mean in the TBC realm. Any New/Fresh Classic i would wait until after T5 launches since i think T4 will be short like MC BWL short.

You’re welcome.
Fair.
When enough people want it. That is enough for Blizz. You can say not many people want it but the EU fresh reroll project gained 10k interested people and the NA reroll project gained about 5.5k people interested.
That’s not including all the people that weren’t interested playing on a PVP server or the people that didn’t want to start until pre-patch. That’s also not including all the players that simply didn’t hear about these projects because they are on the forums, Reddit, YouTube etc.
It’s not like we are asking for a few dozen servers (like they are creating with classic ‘vanilla’ era servers…). We are asking for a few per region. Given the support I have seen, that’s more than enough to fill a couple of servers with a good population.
The very fact that RP servers exist, despite ‘not doing as well as other servers’ is proof Blizz caters to even ‘niche’ player desires.
Not everyone wants TBC, but yet we’re getting it.
Not everyone wants to get rid of batching—see paladin seal twisting—yet they’re getting rid of it (or at the very least reducing the batching window).
And Blizzard has proven they are fine with dead servers (most likely because they will connect them down the road) by not fixing any of the realms we currently have and by making copies of ALL the realms. Thus creating a few dozen classic ‘vanilla’ era servers that will be dead sooner or later.
That’s EXACTLY what I said/been saying
Earlier, you said:
When, that’s not true.
Interested and actually doing it are two different things. Plus, I’m happy for the Reroll project. I don’t understand why y’all don’t do that…lemme guess “not the same thing”, right?
I like the push to populate Low Populated Servers rather than leaving them high and dry.
Ofc, that’s why we “spread the word”.
Sorry, that’s the exact same thing (to me)
I think this energy can be used to fill up more Low Populated Servers which is why I support the Reroll project. Instead of creating more “dead servers”.
And, they could learn from that and be like, “you know what? we tried to give our community ‘new servers’, and they weren’t that popular, so we’re not going to add in more ‘new servers’ for BC”. We can learn that NEW Server implementations just doesn’t work well.
Like Classic, there’s a moderate amount of players interested and/or invested into it. There’s more in favor for BC than those for NEW Servers and even Seasonal.
True, but what matters is “the Majority”.
This just proves to me, they’re not fine with “dead realms”, if they’re going to Connect Realm them
And, we can not repeat the same mistakes we did in Classic for BC, by the time they become Perma
EDIT: BTW, it’s very hysterical watching a particular Notification go off just for nothing to happen. Thanks everyone
Fresh servers when?
dont forget thats without all of us that want fresh but didnt want to start them until prepatch because of draenei/blood elves
Guys! They just announced that they’re not going to announce new fresh TBC servers yet by not announcing anything yet.
“No one liked that.”
I’m hoping for some TBC fresh news when the beta starts
Has there been any word on this yet? I’m trying to decide which server to reroll on but i’m waiting for news of this.
Nothing decisive yet from Blizzard. Just what they said about considering new servers after the release of TBC Classic.
Thanks.
A pretty good server to re-roll on for NA is Arcanite Reaper, as there was recently a re-roll event on there. It was a dead server but now majority of the population are low levels leveling up. So its a pretty good place to re-roll, but nothing will be better than official TBC fresh so we can enjoy the improved leveling and also Blood elves/Dranei.
I am leveling on Arcanite Reaper atm and its pretty awesome!
Please add fresh TBC servers, it’s the only thing I was looking forward to.
I want fresh servers as long as they include some key changes to limit the issues we saw in Classic. First off is a gold cap much lower than we have now and a dungeon cap to get people out into the world and out of instances, and AoE already seems to be fixed as long as those are still happening in TBC as expected. Serious Bot control would also be nice though I am not sure what can be done, the line we get is that they are doing their best but can’t keep up and if thats true we are kind of screwed on that wish unless we get drastic changes like seasonal servers which I am not would be popular. I would try them but having our games wiped every X amount of time seems like something I would not be comfortable doing more than once. But then I hate seasons in most games and apparently am in the minority of players when you consider how many passes all these games manage to sell.\
Seasonal servers are fine for a game like Diablo or Guild Wars where the world itself is instanced and the game is basically a lobby with instances you play in with others. I don’t think they would work very well for an MMORPG where many people relate to their characters and wouldn’t want them wiped on a regular basis. That would be kind of Sisyphean in my opinion.
As for policing their servers, while I still have a little bit of hope that Blizzard has something up their sleeves with respect to TBC Classic, their laissez-faire attitudes towards the Vanilla Classic servers leads me to believe otherwise. I find it incredulous that a company with the resources of Blizzard, a company that makes more in profit than the GDP of some small nations, is completely helpless against the bots, gold sellers, and exploiters of their servers. Other MMORPGs (Final Fantasy XIV for one) have actually taken action against those who violate their ToS and while it is a continuing battle, they don’t just throw their hands up in the air and give up on trying to keep their server environments clean. The more logical answer is that as long as people continue to pay a subscription to play on Blizzard’s servers, they consider their job done. They have our money and they don’t really care what happens after that as long as we continue to subscribe.
They have even commented that they found it “funny” just how much wealth people had managed to amass in Classic without once even thinking about the means they went through to amass it. I would love to be proven wrong on this one, but at this point I do not think I will. I am an advocate of fresh servers, but even I have to admit that the “fresh” would only last until the same greedy people transferred over to one and started anew with the exploits, botting, and gold buying/selling.
Time will tell.
Thanks.
I am predicting Blizzard releases a fair share of new servers with the TBC launch. It would be great to get a few servers for prepatch but, I do not think there will be a need until launch day. If you remember Classic launch and how that went. We started with 10-12 servers and by day 2 we doubled the amount of servers because Blizzard wasn’t prepared for the surge in players. Hopefully they learn from their mistake but, its Blizzard so wait and see. I’ll be rerolling horde for TBC so can not wait!
I think we all would love information if they are coming pre-patch or announce they will arrive upon release.
Very important for planning time off and communicating with friends/guilds.
I’m all for this idea, I personally would rather a fresh start on a server where everyone is on an equal playing field. I have no interest in playing on a server where people have amassed enough gold to nuke the economy.
I just want to play a fresh classic experience with my friends and with no boosting service that just incentivizes more botting.
Agreed.
MadSeasonShow made a very good video on paid boosting. And I have to say, I agree with him fully.
(He’s also viewed this thread. Which is neat. <3)
And clearly bribed you nerds to keep spamming that video so he can one day break the massive 400k subscriber mark.
