A fix to Community Elitism. Getting into keys in S2 is Impossible

How exactly will that increase the number of tanks and healers so some will join their group?

LOLOL. It’s actually not that simple man. That’s my entire point. I’ve lived it this entire week and last. It’s not some story I came into this thread to tell because I’m bored and making things up.

Heck yeah, I totally want Mists to be the only dungeon that exists!

Any time someone makes a rant post like this, I look them up.

-Despite several weeks of season 2, you’re not the best geared relative to season 1.

-Your Season 1 rating was 901. You did one 14 ever and you failed it.

-You’ve never done a M+ prior to BFA Post-Season 4, and your best dungeon was a 9 at that time.

-You don’t have KSM as a Ret, Prot, or any Paladin I can see.

-You can’t be bothered to gem your Legendary (which is still 225). But that insanely high price of 30g is an understandable barrier to entry, so we’ll forgive this one.

Everything you’ve said is a lie and you’re bad by every available metric. That’s why no one invites you.

The solution is to run your own key. Having KSM from season 1 doesn’t mean squat based on how long the season was if you stayed at 15s and didn’t push further. It’s not elitism. It’s valuing my own time. Why would I bring you over someone with more experience? This isn’t the elementary school blacktop where I have to include everyone who wants to play. That’s what LFR/LFD is for.

Consider playing Venthyr Holy or Venthyr Prot. Instead of competing against 70+ other DPS specs queuing up and being a lower IO than about 40 of them, you’ll basically be the spec literally everyone wants because there’s a shortage of tanks and heals compared to an overflow of DPS specs.

Ignoring the grammar, Hunters, Mages, Warlocks, and Rogues are the only ones that have an excuse to be pugging other peoples keys SOLELY as DPS. Be a hybrid like you signed up for.

I’d say the same about DOS. Different people want different gear. Mists is annoying. I do it because i want changeling but other than that shrug i’d skip it.

You’re listing a key an no one is joining? I find that hard to believe.

A proving grounds only works if Blizzard doesn’t re-arrange how every char works every new expac.

So you want the benefit of everyone’s else key and feel the need to be invited, but don’t want to run your own key because “you don’t feel the need”

Even then it’s not an excuse. If you refuse to form groups around your own key, there’s really no sympathy to be had.

iLvl and score.

And if you’re healing you shouldn’t have any problems unless you’re shooting for keys way above your metrics.

Understanding how the scoring works is important. Timing a 9 for every tyrannical and fortified will give you much higher score then missing wildly on 15’s.

you’re not getting into groups, most likely because you’re signing up for keys higher than you’re perceived to be qualified for.

It’s just an experience thing. You didn’t really play a lot last season, and that’s just one of the things serious mythic+ players will consider. It’s not because you’re bad, or that your class sucks or anything…it’s that inexperienced players struggle until they practice the content.

You’re better off running your own keys and doing a slow climb of the rating system by doing keys with players in similar ranks as you.

good luck :heavy_heart_exclamation:

I have always run dungeons as tank/healer at the beginning of every tier even if i’m planning to be a dps main because it gets me into groups, gets me more gear & raises my io quickly. I get to pick whatever groups i want once i’ve achieved a high io/ilvl.

I can understand mages/warlocks/rogues/hunters and classes with ONLY dps specs struggling but as a paladin it comes down to you being lazy and unwilling to learn other specs to makes your life easier.

Every thread i’ve seen complaining about M+ has something in common, they want Blizzard to force players into playing with them. Sure they can add proving grounds/mage tower whatever you have suggested but the reality of the situation is there are too many dps for tanks & healers. No amount of extra score/merit/achievement will fix that.

If you’ve exhausted all of your options and are still not having any luck then maybe there is some merit to your complaint.

But if you’re just too stubborn and is unwilling to play holy pal or prot pally (both are completely viable and in demand) than no one is obligated to play with you.

This has nothing to do with elitism as OP suggested, it simply comes down to supply & demand of classes/specs.

The simple fix is removing the timer and external scoring functions, period.

Why it start your own group for keys?
Seems like a rather simple solution tbh

I am so elite that I refuse to invite myself to groups.

The fix is to run your own key.

When you put a 15 key up, you will get typically more dps than you know what to do with applying. So you will always invite people with the highest io score that fill the specs you want to time the key the easiest. Unfortunately for your spec, it isn’t meta. So that means you’re better off running your key and forming a group for it

This and raider io scores have been an issue for several years now. The most common answer I have seen given is for you to just run your own key. Unfortunately, if you are not a tank and you have a low raider io score, then good luck.
