The only thing they wrote was “Hai thur chatgpt, tell me why dawntrail is b a d”
cupcakes>gnats.
Yeah, I wonder why that is.
Definitely couldn’t be because negative FFXIV threads boil down to the OP just being sour about the game, whereas FFXIV threads more positive generally serve as a tool to generate feedback and make WoW better.
Surely there’s some deeper meaning we must parse here.
This has been true since ARR.
SE has been making and selling the same game for many, many expacs now and relying on a revolving door of new players to keep the game afloat.
They copied cataclysm-era WoW, have zero creative talent, and don’t know how to actually make a video game.
See: FF16.

I very clearly need to step up my pace in this msq because what lmao
The voice actress for Wuk Lamat is transgender and the right-wing grifters have caught wind of it on social media.
This is a core issue - the PLAYER character does not want to act as a mentor doing mundane tasks such as trading pelts with merchants in an attempt to barter for expensive mezcal in an attempt to get a saddle for an alpaca when one of the supporting protagonists suggested moments before that everyone just chips in to PAY for it.
The writing is just BAD - who wants to play a babysitting simulator for a monthly subscription? Do you recognize how fundamentally awful that is from a writing perspective?
All I’m saying is Calia >>>>>>> Wuk Lamat.
And that’s knowing full fell Calia’s writing is some of the most shoehorned rushed in WoW’s existence.
Oh boo them. That actress makes Wuk Lamat’s portrayal adorable and I love her. I will fight in her name and kill her enemies.
Threads like this where they say ‘x game is worse than y’ always have the same feel as ‘My dad can beat up your dad’.
Probably is because it’s usually two children arguing about it. Man-children in this case.
Right?
My dishwasher died at a bad time and I didn’t have a lot of money at the moment so I had to buy a cheap one and this new one for whatever reason doesn’t want to clean my glasses appropriately. There’s grime on them and I have to wash them in the sink.
I was told that Dawntrail’s release being so close to TWW’s release was bad news for WoW.
So we’ll stop getting daily FFXIV hate threads from insecure fanboys once TWW launches, right?
right?
I was so confused, I thought this was about a zone in TWW but then I could not remember a zone with that name. So I clicked in and read the OP. I get that we come to the forums to complain but can we just limit this to WoW? Soon it will be like Amazon reviews were you are buying shoes but the reviews are about lawn mowers and wood burning tools.
Probably not since everything from beta shows TWW being boring as sin.
FF14 expacs are 3 days of content(being extremely generous here), TWW is 2 months away.
No, that’s more of an issue specific to certain players.
Narratively, it works out very well once figure it out and settle into the role. It’s even LAID OUT for the player after a particular solo duty. To summarize:
“None of the claimants are ready. So rather than choose a successor, I chose to cultivate one.”
The whole rite of succession isn’t a competition, it’s a training program. You’re helping train up one of the claimants, and the guy running it straight-up tells you that’s the point of it.
But if I recall correctly, that does occur after the alpaca-wrangling shenanigans. Nevertheless, I had figured it out well before then.
And all things considered, quite a few of the questlines for seasonal events have been leaning into the “train up the new guy”… so I’m not surprised. It really is the logical step after becoming the savior of the world, training up others to do so after you’re gone; heck, it’s quite apparent that the old Dawnservant is still an adventurer at heart.
No, because I recognize the purpose behind the narrative that you seem to be missing.
Oh look, it’s the clown that doesn’t even play, says they have been playing since 1.0, but links a random character profile that hasn’t done anything since Stormblood, rofl.
You’re missing the point -
To your first statement, you’re correct that it’s an issue for players. Thank you for agreeing with me.
To your second point, this is wrong. It doesn’t work out narratively for the WoL to genuflect to someone of deep political stature who they have barely any relations with.
This is a constant issue with FFXIV when it comes to political resolution is that the writers answers are to shoehorn the WoL and Scions into world affairs, who on their own are formidable enough to threaten entire nations.
It doesn’t make sense and it feels like the Scions are influencing every nation they touch to conform to their world views. It’s terrible writing and if it were written better, the Scions would have been black rosed instantly due to their meddling GoT style.
what’s unacceptable is posting this here.
go post this drivel on the FF forums
