A courteous word about LGBT representation

Yes, she is.
Sorry not sorry but them’s the facts.

The end says otherwise, even though it was not on screen for very long

TIL I’m not actually a lesbian because I’m unbothered by the gay characters in WoW

100% this I agree

Yeah that person. Eugh. Reminds me of those deviantart people with the wild colored avatars. shudders

Nah.

Also nope. Two girls beaming up like Star Trek to go on adventure is not an allegory for being gay.

I think the bigger question is even if representation even is needed. Azeroth is not IRL and the problems of IRL do not carry over here. In Azeroth, there are not hate squads going out and trying to harm letters community people. In Azeroth, nobody bats an eye at Anduin wanting a goat or dwarf girl while Shaw is getting his booty plundered by a pirate who was VERY clearly into females before that…perhaps trying too hard to deny his real longings?

Common barbers can change you into whatever body type you want. Want to be a 1 today and a 2 tomorrow? Easy peasy. No NPC is going to throw rotten fruit on you and spit on you as you run by…that kind of treatment is reserved for heroes who gave their lives and had their souls damned into eternal undead servititude who broke free and still pledged their undead lives in service and doing the dirty work so the living can have the luxury of looking upon us with disdain.

Point being is why should Azeroth be going out of their way to highlight or otherwise put relationships in a spotlight when it doesn’t make sense for the canon of the world? 2 sentient horses want to clop hooves? Good for them. Your character doesn’t care and YOU shouldn’t care.

I’ve noticed a theme with the trolls, and that is they don’t include the ‘Q’ in LGBTQ. I’m not sure they know that the Q exists.

Seems sus.

All those mechanics are game mechanics and have nothing to do with the lore. I figure our frontal lobes can make that separation with ease.

I’m someone who periodically does the abbreviation as LGBT+ but that’s because my hands are small and so many letters.

I mean well to my own community, I swear!

It’s sheer laziness.

I’m going to start calling it the abcd cause thats too much work.

It’s ok, you’re an elf.
We expect disappointment from you.

At least the “+” can be taken to understand that you know more is there and may have forgotten or been unsure of how to best say the rest.

I really wish the people of the capital cities still did that, even after completing the starting quest.
Would really make me feel like the anti-hero type class fantasy Death Knights are supposed to be.
Nobody likes necros after all, especially on the forums.

There’s not really a strict rule, I’ve seen people use LGBT, LGBT+ LGBTQ, and LGBTQ+, I get the gist of what they mean to say.

However ive seen a fair bit of people “forget” to include the T at the end. They know what they’re doing.

I mean I’m not trying to police it, but like it’s rarely something I’ve seen dropped consistently. It just strikes me as odd

Edit: the + helps. I mean realistically no one I know does the whole acronym.

Oh, it’s nowhere near a shoddy memory when they “forget”… They mean to drop that letter.

i got it! lgbt- :grinning:

I honestly don’t usually say “LGBTQ+” a lot myself either, I usually just end up saying “gay” and “trans” when the conversation is about each one respectively. I pretty much only say it IRL when it’s about something official because it feels like I’m taking myself too seriously to say that all the time instead of just “gay”. My gay/trans/non-binary/etc friends usually just do the same.

That just comes across as mean-spirited and an attempt to make fun of that demographic.
