A Character with that name already exists

So I have literally tried to use the online ticket system because I keep getting the error message “A character with that name already exists” and got stuck in some form of glitch that makes it so it never submits the ticket. I haven’t been able to log into my main character for 3 days and have not been able to get a hold of ANY blizzard support because the ticket system glitches out every time I try to use it. I am about ready to just unsubscribe and uninstall because whats the point of putting 12 days of game time into a character I can’t play and I can’t even get a phone number to just call. I am done getting ran in automation circles and I need to talk to a real person to fix this problem, because it is definitely NOT on my side. I have deleted the cache, WTF and interface folders and repaired, uninstalled and reinstalled wow entirely, changed every setting known to man, tried staying logged off for an entire day and STILL cannot log into my character. All of this happened just after the random crash on Christmas eve. If I could get a response soon that would be nice, and if I get referred to a broken ticket system that doesn’t submit the ticket I placed one more time I’m just gonna unsub.

You and millions others are having the same issues and have tickets open it takes time yes waiting is a hassle but thats all you can do.

you see I wouldn’t have a problem waiting if I could just submit a ticket. But I can’t even do that.

There’s a thread here in the CS forum that Bliz has been posting in since the issue started.

As for submitting, are you using the in-game UI, or the Support website?

Then your issue wont get resolved the only way to resolve it is thru a ticket why cant u open a ticket.

Well, I have been trying to submit a ticket through the website. I uploaded all the required files and I click submit, then it just reroutes me to the top of the page like nothing happened. I’ve tried on 3 different browsers and still the same problem.

100 %%% same problem here as well!!! I am about done with thei crap!!!

In the thread that Bliz has been using, there’s instructions for submitting a specific ticket type with specific text within. If you follow it exactly, it prioritizes it above the rest. If it’s not followed, it just ends up in the general queue.

I can’t even get the ticket to submit though… I’m not even in que, I’m in straight up purgatory

Are you submitting the proper ticket type?

If so, you can submit without a file upload:

Make sure that the text in the directions is copied exactly into the ticket body. Be sure to include the character and realm as well.

It should be faster than the general queue so don’t necessarily go by the posted estimated time.
