I did this soup thing 2 days ago and had 0 issues with lag
The good news is that when next gen titles come out that can seamlessly handle 100v100 combat Blizz will have to improve it’s servers to compete.
This is good for us, the customers.
Then that hope is gone. The FCC has denied Microsoft application to purchase Activision. Now it will go to the courts where it will be years before it is heard.

Heh… I’m a little rusty on grammatical rules but I think you just made a grammar correction while using a sentence fragment.
Interesting, I experience no lag.
Perhaps update your potato, or your internet connection, depending on what type of latency you are experiencing.
I have been getting a lot of lag at random times and seems to be zone specific. Hasn’t been an even or anything either. Just seems to effect the whole zone for a while
How are you to know that overpop servers are notorious for issues like this every expac?
While this one is certainly more persistent, usually they just keep doing 3-6 hours of emergency maintenance and you can’t do anything during such windows
Which is much worse than a 2 second UI/client delay. You can still queue spells and play, just think 2 seconds ahead and you’re good
To be fair, much of the lag hasn’t been server lag, but a UI lag. The game state tends to be pretty on point, and you can still play by offsetting how you think of your encounters and actions using action queuing; typically that is not indicative of latency (networking) but of the UI API (frames/delay)
Which is also why many people in the same realms and zone are not experiencing these issues.
Ah yes another walking brainstem that has no idea about the complexities of distributed code and networking acting like throwing money at everything immediately fixes a problem…
First night I actually enjoyed questing in Azure Span - tonight after half of WoW population crashed out of the game
Do you think WoW servers function like it’s 2004 still?
That’s how some successful companies used to operate. Times have certainly changed.

This is an issue that has been going on for a very long time. Remember the World Boss in Maldraxus (sp)? Maybe they should have instanced some of these things vs shoving them into one small zone.
Multi-dollar company, please understand.
I’m on a high pop server. I experience zero lag with everything on Ultra easily sit at 80+ FPS.
Seems like a you problem.
Stop playing on a potato.
To be fair, they’re REALLY busy designing battle passes and cash-shop cosmetics for all of their other games.
Have you heard of the critically acclaimed final fantasy 14? With a free trial upto level 60 and the award winning heavensward expansion?
I did notice an insane amount of gear and stuff dropping while farming them for the Gnoll tent recipe, still no Gnoll tent recipe… but pants #2377849 for 20 gold is okay I guess?
Only a few developers work on Wow nowadays.
They made their money with this game long time ago , and they will only support it at MNINIMUM COST.
Until it die , for good , they will keep doing the minimum effort , minimum money to MILK all the money out and make the biggest profit they can.
Yes the game is old , and probably need a lot of refactoring in code everywhere , but will they invest into wow ?
I work in video games for the past 15 years , I know how things are done and how marketing think.
WoW is over , we will get a rinse and repeat of the same crap with minimum effort and time until it die for good.
