Higher keys as a DPS are just about “oh yeah, I had forgotten I have defensives too”. All the rest is just repetition of a copy of a repetition of a copy from logs.

I’m not even a tank I’m mediocre at best dps and even I roll my eyes for the tank when others just pull ahead of the tank.
It’s very annoying how a lot of people play in groups. Like folks grasp the need for a group for certain content but they do it with a “but I’ll do my own thing” mindset.
Aye. Are you saying DPS after 10s changes so dramatically that WoW is a new game?
I have yet to sit in a group waiting for a tank… just sayin… There are solutions here.

In higher tier of M+:
Arent all 3 roles the same in difficulty in reality? Tank require skill in knowldge of which mechanic needs what defensive cd or doesn’t. One wrong play and the tank dies. Then everyone else dies.
Healers require knowledge in mechanics similar to tanks to know when each “panic heal” needs to be used or when to rapid apply dots before a large unavoiable chunk is coming. They fail, dps die and so do they. (Tank most likely not long after since the defensive nerfs)
DPS require knowledge of interrupts to a higher degree and all AoE mechanics + unavoidable dmg mechanics for defensive cds and offensive cds. They misplay, they die or they kill to slow the healer runs out of mana and they all die. (Tank most likely not long after since the defensive nerfs).
They are all difficult roles at higher levels of play and to say one is naturally harder or easier is disingenuous. They can all be the cause of a wipe or success in theory. (we’ll see how M+ plays out this season)
I tried tanking heroic dungeons since the expansion launched. I don’t pull full hallways of trash for the sake of healers, but when I dont, those healers and DPS are going ahead and pulling the entire hallway so it’s like damned if you, damned if you don’t. I am just doing delves and playing as DPS this expansion.
You can either never pull enough or fast enough… or you are too fast.
Like what are we supposed to do with this?
Read the room, communicate, adapt. I know it’s a lot to ask in a pug, lol. No other role is required to do this.
blizz has added 3 tanks specs (and im sure shaman tanks will be a reality next expansion) , and nothing has changed…
Ppl are just afraid of tanking , and is way harder to heal than tank imo , tanking is just a frontal dps with some surv. cds that u toss around on trash and on bosses u save for “BIG HIT INCOMING” warning from your addons. Thats half the work , the other is knowing the route , but once u do the dungeons 3-4 times u know your way around.
u get groups anytime , for raiding thats another matter but u can pug your way as tank , start the raid as tank and watch dps pile up , some healers and choose your co-tank so u dont have to share loot even.

I feel like this kind of assumption is largely the reason why nobody wants to tank for pugs; A whole lot of backseat drivers, but nobody willing to take the wheel.
I’m having fun on my tank, my only complaint about the tank role is the fact there’s no diversity in fantasy.
The majority of the tank classes are just edgy boys or a drunk… where’s the cute tank class?
I don’t tank for pugs often because y’all are impatient and run ahead while everyone else is dealing with the last pack and then come running back with 3 packs wanting me to taunt off you.
No it’s… more like we as tanks are tired of being yelled at and even kicked from groups from normal to mythic because we don’t adhere to that individual group’s exact way they want the tank to play and we are tired of it!
As a tank, I was, and continue to be, perfectly fine with those changes to our self sustain. We aren’t a one man army, we are merely the shield for the rest of our group who are the ones who should be doin’ the killin’. It’s always odd to me that people want the tank to be the highest damage, and healing… if that’s the case, why not just make the group 5 tanks?
I do not know of any healers asking for a tank nerf.
No other role is required to do this.
Tbh that’s why I just go at my own pace.
Im an old try hard raid tank, so I know what I can usually handle.
I tend to pull like I don’t have a healer anyway, but I also know how to survive stuff.
I still brag about eating 4 impales on deathwing because the other tank ate dirt lol. (If you don’t know, 2 was near death. 3 was an insta kill)
I’m right there with you. The changes to my self sustain haven’t really been too noticeable so I don’t understand why people are so up in arms about that. I am still blasting through M0’s.
And as far as doing less damage, I couldn’t care less as long as the DPS is still killing it. Or, when I’m out in open world doing stuff myself I just pull big packs. I might have middling single target, but My AoE is great.
This. I did priory slightly differently and was hearing about it.
One dungeon I was pulling a bit too much okay no problem. They were nice about it. next dungeon with a different group complaining I was not pulling enough. Okay bit of jerks about it but whatever. Next group heals was yelling to pull a lot more but couldn’t handle it. Next group Dps was screaming because i wasn’t pulling enough so he started pulling everything. Then he died and blamed me. Tried to force a kick on me that failed.
Same goes for healing. Tank will think they can pull whole dungeon and make healing impossible and blame heals. Nah you ran way farther than everyone and bit off more than you can chew. Line of sight still exists too cannot heal through walls. Or they think slapping things around only and heals will keep them alive and not use defensive skills ever.
