97.5 million XP is the amount required for 85-90

My friend is forcing me to play MoP to PvP with him. I leveled 1-85 pretty easily in about 4 days of gameplay, but as soon as I saw the XP required for 85-86, I instantly lost all motivation. I already did 1 hour of questing in Jade Forest and only got 35% of a level — not even half, it’s torture.

After doing some research I realized it only gets worse the higher you go, all the way to 90. Almost 100 million XP needed for 85-90 — imagine doing that on alts. I’m not someone who hates leveling, but not when it takes forever. If the XP was cut in half, I’d gladly play more, but right now I already feel bored and I’ve decided to quit MoP without really even starting.

Also, after watching some streams on Twitch, PvP looks terrible too, with the same comps 80% of the time. So maybe it’s a blessing in disguise to quit now before even reaching 90. Anyway terrible game

The weak will quit. GOATS will push on and enjoy the very rewarding payoff.

Then don’t do it.

Yeah, they probably should have just stuck with 10 levels per expansion, rather than making it 5 levels that seem more stretched out…

how is alt leveling a nightmare when you literally have flying. It’s not a nightmare, you’re just lazy. That’s the problem with retail players is they somehow always expect instant gratification.

Almost everyone in my guild already has a 2nd 90, with some having 3 or even 4.

rested exp is really really powerful in these 5 level expansions, just afking the alt in town starts you at 86.5, dmf which is up like half the time is another 10%

i wonder why the op stopped using his clashmania account to post?

he just randomly started posting on this one then made another thread basically identical to his other one

85-90 is less than this btw.

This ^

I went 85 to 90 in about 2 or 3 days (And this was without flying.) It’s not nearly as bad as everyone’s making it out to be. The numbers seem high, but when you’re getting over 200k exp a quest, it goes by fast.

What I wanna know is, why is this suddenly a problem? Did everyone complain leveling was too slow back in Vanilla/TBC/Wrath?

I remember going from 70 to 80 in Wrath, and it took even longer than MoP. At least MoP’s quests aren’t all fetch quests. You get some fun ones like Muddy Water, or the dojo ones in JF.

Mop’s arguably one of the most enjoyable questing experiences IMO. I dreaded hitting northrend every time i levled an alt, I’m relaxed once I get to pandaria. And I prefer wrath overall, it’s just pandaria is that good.

It really is. The zones are beautiful, and the music is the best out of any expac imo.

I don’t even buy flying for my alts because I like the zones and quests.

You won’t be missed

eewwwww yeah wrath questing was NFG, tho the dungeon spam made very quick work of it.

That’s nice dear.

this OP is posting from a level 85 warrior which is wearing the 359 boosted helm, its likely he boosted it and then realised you don’t insta get 90 and gave up

that helm model is from the pandaria booster pack and the shoulders/chest are also the boosted ones, this story is fictional, this op is another poster (he’s the guy making all of these threads, literally)

He got destroyed by human warriors in arena so decided to reroll one and boost it, but now he he has to level it, lol.

Another poster who will remain namless but you will likely work it out got CTRL ALT DELETED by my partner and I in 2’s (not playing warriors) and was crying about said class simply because he has no idea what he’s doing. Never once used a defensive CD and his partner was also clueless.

Another poster, could be same persons alt “quitting” for similar “reasons” also clueless.

I mean, they’ve already made it easier than it was. It’s never going to be easy enough for everyone. Yea, it’s a bit of a slog. Did you try to queue for any dungeons? Sometimes the quests are pretty decent there. Also, pet battles reward quite a bit of XP.

If PVP is the only thing you like, can you level in BG’s (if those are even a thing 85-89)? At least do something fun with your free time! Maybe put your buddy on follow and let them go farm stuff, I dunno.

Yeah that’s kind of the five I get as a matter of fact when you look at people talking about going to play retail wow everybody’s bragging that you can get to max level in a day, not even like a day played just in like a casual you know 6 hours.

Except there was no dungeon spam when we all leveled up originally and it took longer than this. As a matter of fact I have a benchmark of it. Every new expansion I start watching the James Bond collection during my first level up, starting with TBC, and I always start with Dr no and go and release order and I do not include the film never say never again.

60 to 70 Tomorrow never dies
70 to 80 Skyfall
80 to 85 The living daylights
85 to 90 license to kill

Now you have the James Bond metric of leveling.

Now I’m aware this can be done quicker because sometimes I’d watch my other screen with the movie running instead of just having this background noise and sometimes I work on my professions so I’m aware it can go quicker. But honestly what’s that bad and the only time leveling was shorter was cata, with wrath being the longest.
