I feel this. Shadowlands is the first expansion I have not put in any of my characters’ stories. Enekie is in Azeroth, totally unaware of this and that’s how it’ll stay. This is going to be a write-off expansion, but I at least tried to RP in the other ones.
Shadowlands is the first game where there feels like there genuinely isn’t anything here for me.

Honestly, yeah it didn’t help that to facilitate Shadowlands as an expansion, they had to do something to Azeroth that was infinitely more interesting (The Helm of Domination is broken. The Scourge are on a uncontrollable rampage. This is the very definition of a Nightmare Scenario and the entire point of the finale to Wrath of the Lich King) but then deliberately not do anything with it.
Like, I’d be more willing to give Shadowlands a shot if it weren’t leaving better story beats on the table to tell its own narrative. And, being completely honest, after Azshara got turned into a mid-tier Raid Boss in the most Unfun zone ever to grace the game (Seriously, I actively, physical loathe that zone), I kind of stopped giving the devs the benefit of the doubt that there might be something worthwhile to see.

Other people have touched on it but for me, if you are going to try and explain the mystery of death and what comes after- something that is not only huge to my character but also to me personally- then you better do a damn good job of it
This was not a damn good job of it. As some have pointed out, you don’t need to explain everything. Han Solo didn’t need an origin story, and WoW didn’t need to shoehorn every culture’s views on the afterlife into four generic and unrelated zones that have no previous connections other than gigantic leaps of logic.

Sylvanas’s model is kinda interesting, seeing their aversion to putting prisoners in rags. Even in the full 3D render of Anduin was still in his armor. They really do wanna sell the “pity her” lol

I know 9.2 is supposed to be a dumpster fire… but I can’t help feeling a little happy seeing the set bonuses for Guardian in that new “tier” set…
2 set: Barkskin also applies Berserk (and presumably Incarn, if talented into it) for 4 seconds.
4 set: Berserk causes you to radiate damage to all nearby enemies and heal every second.
