Blizzard at Gamescom will be them apologising to their customers, mentioning their plans for the future of WoW, and then nothing else.
New World isnât going to affect WoW at all. No more than any other new MMO launch has in the past two decades, at least.
FFXIV is only gaining ground because it has proven its staying power. No one wants to jump ship until the ship theyâre fleeing to actually proves its seaworthiness.
âArrrr, avast me hearties, there be catgirls on these shores!â
From Blizzardâs perspective. Diablo was the big seller at Blizzcon, and thatâs where most of my hype is going.
According to their 2nd quarter financial report. Blizzard has diverted âSubstantial resourcesâ to the Diablo team for the time being.
It almost feels like Blizzard AND the players agree SL is a dud.

The devs already posted on Twitter that all development on WoW is halted due to the investigation and all the internal restructuring that is going on.
I doubt we gonna have any news in gamescon.
Disagree on the must have, the must-have is the Fenris motorcycle because it will always give the maximum speed possible when in some areas (Bozja) you are forced to buy riding maps to get to max speed.
Unless the whale does the same exact thing, the speed is actually pretty massive to have.
They probably wonât have thing gameplay wise to actually show, they were already obviously way behind before the lawsuit was made public, since then nothing has happened with the game development wise.
If anything you will see tons of virtue signaling with blizzard promising to make the game more women, more black and more trans because thatâs apparently the answer these days when companies get caught red handed
Well, everything they had to show of 9.1 at Blizzconline was artwork and two screenshots. Literally zero gameplay. I donât expect nothing more than that to 9.2.
Iâll be a little bit surprised if we get an annoucement.
Iâve been assuming the slow 9.x patch schedule meant that between pandemics and wildfires weâd basically lost a year and the content pipeline is being stretched out a bit.
But Iâve been wrong beforeâŚ
Are people actually thinking that WoW is done forever? Actually insane.
You guys understand that some Blizzard folk organized a walk-out? You canât âwalk-outâ if you havenât gone back to work. The whole ânot workingâ thing was like two days.
Nah 9.2 will be on or very close to Endwalker release to try and keep what little people they got
Doubtful.
Not too long ago a designer mentioned that no progress was being put on the game, then another dev takes a jab at the community for worrying about the product over their livelihood (understandable but itâs not a communityâs job to fix the shortcomings of a company, itâs usually a lawsuit waiting to happen).
Production of anything Blizzard has pretty much stagnated until the scandal has settled down.
The WoW token is not a bad thing. Period. If youâre going to try to blame it for carries and expensive AH prices. Just know that carries existed before the WoW token was a thing, and people always charged huge amounts of gold for stuff. Just look at Classic and TBC, where you can find both carries AND insanely expensive items on the AH, despite the fact that the token does not exist there.
Is there a problem with advertisements for carries? Yes. And just like with gold-selling back in the day, there always will be. Hopefully, Blizzard addresses it soon. But itâs going to be a difficult task.
As for the Lunar Whale being a âmust haveâ itâs the only mount in the game that allows you to carry around a full party of players. No other mount in the game does that in Final Fantasy and thatâs insanely useful if youâre engaging in any type of group content. As for Blizzard Entertainment, theyâve deliberately avoided creating a mount that does that. The closest mount that allows a full party on it is the Hivemind, but it specifically only allows the players who completed the ritual to use it, because Blizzard didnât want it to be considered a âmust haveâ but rather a novelty mount.
you will hear about 9.2 in november probably at the earliest
Um, yeah, it is a bad thing. Trying to use the excuse that people used to buy gold before is asinine. All the negatives with buying gold such as the threat of losing oneâs account is gone.
You mean the place where people trade their wow tokens for GDKP gold? The only thing this says is that Blizzard is trash when it comes to policing gold sales.
That doesnât make it âmust have.â What, did you lose access to individual mounts or something?
9.2 is more likely to be in october/november with blizzconline announcing the next xpac in february.
Hah, no way. There is no way they would let this raid tier only be 4 months long.
Again, no, it isnât. Multiple MMOs allow the buying of gold or their form of currency and those games do not have issues with account hacking and illegal gold sellers, which makes the game far less frustrating. Compare this to any MMO that doesnât allow currency sales, and youâll see gold spammers all over the place. Final Fantasy 14 has this problem. You canât stay in any of the major cities for longer than a minute before you see an advertisement for gold selling (or gil in FFâs case).
This literally doesnât happen, because tokens canât be traded in classic or TBC classic. You canât get the item in that version of the game and since the token can only be placed on the AH and cannot be traded through the trade window, thereâs no way to manually trade it for GDKP gold (whatever that is). Classic WoW and TBC Classic both have a gold selling problem and thatâs because those versions of the game have a demand for bought gold, but Blizzard isnât providing the supply.
If you canât see the insane value in having a mount that allows you to put a full party on its back, I donât know what to tell you.
