Best thing about New World is the gathering. I swear I could log and fish in that game for hours lol.
Yeah, everyone Iāve talked to has said that the crafting and the gathering is top-notch and the PvP is fun.
And Iām not surprised because New World was originally developed as a hardcore sandbox MMO with full loot PvP, meaning that when you died you dropped everything. They changed that to remove the āfull lootā part of the PvP, but the game is still designed around being a PvP game.
Their PvE story is basically āGo to the mission board, collect some missions and go do thoseā which is essentially what Final Fantasy 14 did with 1.0 and no one should be emulating anything from Final Fantasy 14 version 1.0.
I didnāt like sandbox mmos but new world will probably be huge, at least in the first year.
I like tab targeting.
It has the potential to flop hard.
The combat just wonāt work properly for a MMORPG, the PvP is going to intrude heavily on the PvE. The game is going to be filled to the brim with microtransactions that makes Blizzardās and Square Enixā cash shops look like a saintās charity boxes.
Had they just stuck to their initial plans they would atleast have had a niche group to cather to. But as it stands now, it just wonāt work for either group.
They went Fallout 76 on it, a game which pleases neither majority.
You might hear something about 9.1.5, but nothing at Gamescon. It would be a PTR update or some minor thing like that.
Honestly I wouldnāt expect 9.2 to hit the PTR till close to the holiday season.
Nothing wrong with that. Everyone has their flavor. Just saying the best combat in an MMO I played was in Neverwinter really loved it for PvP where you were actually dodging and blocking attacks. Then aiming to target. Just felt a lot more immersive.
I mean any game does. Look at 9.1 which flopped hard. If you put out a bad product people wonāt play and find something else.
Again already seen that type of combat work great in Neverwinter.
Depends how they do it. Obviously FF cash shop is far less worse than WoW. This is just speculation, and you could be right but will have to see.
I can see a lot of talk of the .x.5 patch, and very little if anything other than concept or ideas for .2
??
This is where you jumped the shark.
The FF cash shop is far more egregious than the WoW cash shop, and at least one of the mounts is a āmust haveā in that game (the Lunar Whale) whereas, in WoW, thereās nothing that is a āmust haveā from the shop.
Sorry, this is where you are wrong. The fact that WoW straight sells currency automatically makes it multitudes of levels worse.
Also, the whale isnāt a must have, not sure what prompted that.
Iām praying we hear something about 9.1.5, campaign ends next reset, after that zero new content coming so atleast 9.1.5 might Iāve us something to look forward too.
It is a lesser evil thing.
I speak terribly about any cash shop that exists out there, I plain and simply hate microtransactions with all my heart, I dislike them, I find them to be terrible for the state of a game, they ruin everything and they are a corporate greed incarnate used only to manipulate the weakest in our societies.
Sadly, a vast majority of people, especially more recent generations, thinks that microtransactions are good and thus gamers like myself are in a losing battle. I have come to find, that I must sadly accept microtransactions, and in that instance, I will at the very least choose the lesser evil.
Now, FF cash shop has far more cosmetics, mounts and mini pets available in their shop, this is true. And I would have found FFs cash shop worse if not for two simple facts.

The cosmetics, mounts and mini pets you can buy in the cash shop, is in no way of better quality than what you can obtain in game. Quite the contrary, it seems that what you can obtain in game by playing the game, is of vastly superior quality. A lot of the cosmetics and mounts you can buy in FFs cash shop, are gimmicky. Swimsuits, NPC garments, some of the mounts are just recoloured mounts of what you can get in game.

The money spent in the FFXIV cash shop, is obviously going into improving the game. This is seen with the sheer quality of the content that has improved as years has gone by, quite frankly, you can not say the same for World of Warcraft. The game quality has, as a matter of fact, decreased as the cash shop has gotten bigger, indicating an absolutely lazy mindset because why bother with creating a great game to keep players engaged and let them have fun, when all the revenue you need doesnāt have to come from subscribers? People just buy the cash shop items and wow token, and we meet our revenue quota.
This would be what I expect. At this point, Blizzard will do whatever they think will get the public to be in better graces with them and will help them forget what went on over at their campus (which we shouldnāt). I imagine weāll see 1.5 information discussing something, maybe new heritage armor. Bout it.
We might get what patch 9.2 will be called at games con but with minimal details and some images.
I think more details will be provided at the Feb Blizzcon with the PTR for it shortly after.
This also depends on how fast Blizz can get there house straightened out.
Absolutely not.
I donāt see them using any of the cons for a x.x.5 patch ,seeing how those are usually not content patches .
THose usually come up as Blue topics in the forums or on wowhead.
Why not ?
Thatās how we first learned about Legion .
You see how fast things are rolling out this expansion? We got more delays comingā¦
True but I can see possibly them giving us the title of the patch and where we are going but giving us more details later on say in a video stream or maybe the next Blizzconline
Yeah, but a title wonāt mean anything to me.
