9.1.5 Positivity Thread

Lots of people complaining about this patch, but I’m actually pretty excited about it.

Some of the QoL enhancements are going to be fantastic, there are some positive changes for PvP, and lots of mounts and tmogs just became much easier to get!

Here’s what I’m going to do….what are YOU excited about?

ME:

I’m 10/10 excited actually. There are a LOT of positive QOL changes coming so here’s what I’m looking forward to:

  1. Heirlooms get a boost
  2. Threads of fate is getting buffed
  3. The token that lets you instantly 40 renown
  4. All the korthia BoA gear we’ve picked up on our mains and some crafted gear means as soon as you hit 60 you can be MUCH more competitive in both PvP and PvE.

So, leveling is easier/faster and then when you get to 60 you player power from 40 free renown and BoA 200 ilvl gear and unrated PvP gear will be higher….so the power gap is lessened so making an alt isn’t like pulling teeth and losing to overgeared but under-skilled players in PvP.

The old raid fixes! Now that they are fixing legacy raids for loot, and some of the bosses so they are more easily soloable, I’m going to go back and finish off some cool tmog sets and farm some dope mounts!

The new bracket of PvP gear being at 1950 CR is great too because that journey from 1800-2100 with less players playing has meant that really only the hardcore players are left playing in many brackets. So, rating is deflated so being able to pick up that extra gear level/stats at 1950 will make the trek to 2100 much easier.

They also made it so you can easily go back and get all the Legion class mounts MUCH easier and in MUCH less time. So I’ll probably get a few of those for fun.

Mage tower will be a fun challenge and a lot of the sets look cool but I’ll only do 2 of them and then file it away as completed content…can’t see why I’d ever need to do it again.

Being able to swap covenants is cool so I’ll take a level 50 and get it to 60 fast thanks to the leveling enhancements and then go necro to get all the cool tmogs and mounts and then when I hit 80 swap to NF and finish that one off too.

Then I’ll just PvP a lot with friends who have hopefully have come back from New World, or make new friends and crush PvP with them if they don’t!

What are YOU looking forward to?

Come on if your 80. That should be at least 60. Why make them grind 20 weeks to get to 80.

I’m very excited about 9.1.5! Mainly I can now play all the Covenants on one character. I don’t play alts. The second is that Nightborne are getting more customization that fixes them in my book!

I still haven’t seen any info on Legion raids and if they increased the damage we do in there. It’s been said certain fights have been nerfed, but there needs to be an increase to damage output and I swear I saw it mentioned that was coming.

You mean the changes that should’ve been done when 9.0 released?

Don’t get me wrong, I too am interested in playing the official release version of Shadowlands, but Blizz doesn’t deserve praise just for listening to feedback a year late.
They do, however, deserve some praise for putting Grimrail Depot in Timewalking, train dungeon is best dungeon.

Are they doing away with getting a certain level of renown to be able to upgrade the starter pvp gear? I was not happy about that when I leveled my alt to find out I had grind out PVE stuff to upgrade my pvp gear for an alt.

Honestly I never liked these side leveling systems like we had since bfa to level a necklace or a cape. Now we have renown, and “grind and bore me to death” borghast tower so I can get a legendary. It smells gimicky to me. It’s a distraction, and its tedious. It’s fine for those that want to do it, but making it a requirement to do things like upgrade your pvp gear makes no sense to me.

  1. Maw skip so I can finish leveling the rest of my alts
  2. Customizations for my lightforged, nightborne, and void elves.
  3. Mage Tower sets and the mount :eyes:
  4. Other Legion timewalking stuff like doing the dungeons and buying the rewards

Solo Island expeditions! :desert_island:

Heirlooms, account-wide ignore feature, Kothia improvements, and gear slot purchases with Korthia armaments.

Cos it doesn’t take 20 weeks anymore?

Renown drops from everything and 40 is plenty to get started. Just play the game and you’ll be 60 very quickly, especially if you raid, and everything past 60 doesn’t matter as much.

Gimme your positivity 'cause I feel none for 9.1.5
Most of it should be been from the start.
And I ain’t big on collecting so don’t care about mogs or mounts all that much.

It’s like McDonalds releasing a hamburger without the patty and you only get the buns, then several months later you get the bun then later the toppings.

Like ya, it’s nice and all but that should of been served more complete than what we got because of silly stubbornness from devs.

Too bad they didn’t make the dk necrolord ability appealing enough for me to stay.

Dont care if its in that bis nonsense, I hated it.

So far the only thing I’m hearing at in the .5 patch is a change to necro monks. That doesn’t help everyone.

I was excited about Mage Tower. And then…

Unsubbed.

I was excited but then I found out no covenant abilities/soulbinds will work in it.

Oh well guess I’m not doing it then.

That seems an odd reason to not do it.

It’ll be scaled to not have those things.

I’m positive that no thought went into this expansion.

Positive and negatives connect on a magnet, thus, when I connect a negative to a positive, the negative side of the magnet conjoins and the other end of that magnet is the positive.

Checkmate doomers.

Pro tip: The 40 token can be used at level 50. And Threads of Fate bonus objectives also reward renown now.

So use it right away and if you choose Threads you can probably reach the 50s-60s by the time you hit level 60. Which unlocks basically everything that matters at little effort.

I donno, I think there was thought but on a basic of levels.
Too many conflicting ideas, egos etc…
And I feel as if they build it around statistics and tried to use the legion formula as a crutch which had lots of people see through it.

There is only so many times you can do the same thing just different reskin before it becomes boring and stale.

I trust blizzard scaling about as much as I trust world government. Which means I dont.

Their track record with messed up scaling doesn’t encourage me to put much faith in them. Nevermind the fact that most classes and specs rely off covenants and soulbinds to do anything worth while.

Its a recipe for rage.
