9.1 Tyrande cinematic

Awesome cutscene but if you want to become overly analytical and draw a ton of complaints from it, that’s very easily done.

Just like the thread originator cutscene.

As much as I love Stormheim and Greymane , it really doesn’t make up for everything else. No resolution for Gilneas and all that. Ivar showing up in Darkshore was neat, not gonna lie :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: :wolf:

Which I think was the point, hence the pancakes.

Genn literally body slams her to the ground and then takes her future from her.
Then he walks off like a boss.

Why aren’t you satisfied? Genn accomplished in one cutscene what Night Elves and Tyrande hasn’t been able to in what…? 3? 4?

I don’t think that was the point, I think he’s just being glib and the pancakes is a reference to that guy who posts on the troll Hunter.

@Smalloiz - I thought my conclusion was pretty obvious - would you mind settling this?

Thanks.

I didn’t say I wasn’t satisfied. I talk often about how the Stormheim cinematic makes me happy. I do appreciate the small moments. :wolf:

I was merely pointing out there are races who do have it a lot worse than the NE shrug

There’s no confusion. I merely lack an unrealistic expectation when it comes to the portrayal of my favorite race. I recognize that the narrative flaws in the franchise’s media are neither unique or disproportionately unfavorable to the night elves through any form of intentional malice or inadvertent bias.

Unless you can apply a sociological methodology to those observations, or find a source that establishes explicit intent, then you are forever limited to the realm of correlation, not causation.

Nah.

Because you seem to think that I thoroughly enjoyed the Burning Teldrassil. This is a poor assumption on your part considering I have stated numerous times that I quit BfA about a month in.

You tried derailing a thread about rebuilding the Horde numerous times with a bunch of whining and offering suggestions that attempted to alleviate Alliance player concerns with no regard to actually rebuilding the Horde.

The Sylvanas fanboy is right. I was being cute by mimicking Gant

I’m glad I’m living rent-free in your head.

Thinking arrows should do damage isn’t an “unrealistic expectation”, I just think it’s a pointless portray and there is no reason to lift it up. I don’t think I’ve asked for anything unrealistic either, this is likely contributing to your confusion.

What you personally choose to enjoy is up to you. I am not going to stop you but what I have said doesn’t change.

Well mister if you aren’t here to find a compromise or discuss what would work best for an “alliance win” then I don’t see what you are doing here. I have the same information you do and my subjective interpretation of this art is different than yours. Learn to live in a world where people have different interpretations and opinions. :kissing_smiling_eyes: :kissing_smiling_eyes:

Me, Ganth, Baal, Ariel and others have had honest conversation about fixing the problems facing both sides and while we sometimes disagree, Ganth’s a cool dude with good takes most of the time. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

In short, keep up the good work Ganth :wolf:

Thinking that the night elves are being disproportionately portrayed as weak or incompetent because of that plot armor is an irrational perception.

Now if we want to discuss how the franchise as a whole could benefit from a greater application of realism and an abandonment of plot armor because it creates these dissonances, that’s an entirely different point, and one in which we would likely find a lot of common ground on.

It’s actually pretty unrealistic. Hunting animals with arrows is discouraged in lots of places because unless you’re very good and land a lethal shot on the heart or brain it won’t really do much to the animal and will just make them hurt. And Saurfang is bigger and tougher than a deer.

The fact that a few arrows put him on his knees for a few minutes but didn’t mortally wound him or anything tracks pretty well if you know how arrows work. Expecting them to take him out of the fight or knock him back or something is unrealistic both from a real world perspective of what arrows actually do, as well as a WoW perspective of how tough orcs are.

Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, Micah.

Re; Stormheim.

From earlier in this thread, this cutscene was brought up to share a comparison to the current one.

We both came to the conclusion that the cutscene has issues, but overall portrays the conflict as the story intends and Genn is a badass in that cutscene.

Does it address Gilneas? Does it fix everything that came before? Are the Worgen issues magically addressed? No, but it’s still a positive Worgen portrayal. It’s something that a Worgen could point at and go “this is badass.”

Just like this current cutscene with Tyrande. Very similar cutscene in structure and organization, also ends very similarly with someone getting away when in reality someone could go “Wait, huh. That shouldn’t happen, why isn’t X finishing them off?”

It leads to future plot threads and remains a good cutscene regardless of what came before, and remains a good cutscene still despite the Worgen narrative not having progressed since.

You can have an issue with X and still appreciate the good things rather than being so tainted by bitterness that everything is garbage, at which point you’re not looking to be satisfied but reasons to be upset.

Baal wants to turn Alliance into Garithos - The faction.
Ganth refuses any resolution to come to alliance at the cost of the Horde.
Ariel is just rude so :man_shrugging:
And you just want Gilneas back and anything else the Worgen do isn’t enough as reperation for Cataclysm.

You often troll threads with nonsense and rarely add anything to a conversation. And I didn’t realize me wanting the worgen to get some actual attention in game was such a threat to your fragile ego. :wolf:
